I'm starting to get pissed off. Tom Morello's tele is a 1982 AMERICAN standard. but people keep saying it's a mexican standard. those weren't a thing until the late 90s.

Tom's is from when fender started making guitars in the USA again after shutting down production and moving factories, the japanese were kicking Fender USA's ass so Fender got fujigen to make guitars and slap fender logos on them and for a couple of years you could only buy MIJ fenders.

what's special about morello's one beside the cringe art on it? does it have unique pickups not found anywhere else or something?

It's a unique combo, emg85s are usually in the neck not the bridge.

Mines an authentic MIJ, made sure of because i'd not have bought it otherwise. Has the stamp on the back. It's worth between 1500-2 from what i've gathered, but i haggled it down to 950.

It has a full neck, which is what i think contributes to it feeling heavier than the matsumoku sg with a bolted neck. It is the best playing guitar i've ever had, however.

Build quality. Mij guitars, mostly matsumoku and fujigen gakki, are about as high quality as you can get. In the 70's/80's, japanese made guitars coming from those two were, for the most part, on par with if not better than american made ones. Especially the ibanez fujigens, as that started the whole fender/gibson/japan lawsuit shit. That would lead to officially made mij fender/gibson models.

They take a lot of pride in craftsmanship, and i prefer it to american/mexican made.

I was up til like 2am keepin my toobs warm, this thing with fuzz sounds great. Rhythm circuit with fuzz is great, neck pickup alone and with the bass cut both sound great, tone knob with its capacitor behaves differently with fuzz than any of my other guitars. I can keep the fuzz always on and just using onboard controls go from borderline clean to edge of breakup to half cocked wah to like five or six different tones of fuzz. It’s a total fuzz machine. I am still absolutely more of a clean/edge of breakup kind of guy but this thing just rips

About 50% of these, so 30ish.

I was incredibly humbled once I started playing to backing tracks of songs. Another thing which I found difficult is remembering how to play this many songs. Professional musicians get paid to play this many. On top of that they're playing their own songs, so it should be easy to remember them. As a hobbyist, it's so difficult to get this many songs into memory.

yeah its ebony. in the pic I had dropped some custom 69 pups in, but I put the original noiseless back in bc of too much hum/EMI. I think the truss rod adjustment got put back near the nut on the American Ultras. The Elite only ran for a handful of years

I had an EBMM with the heel adjustment and liked it. Thinking about getting a Charvel where it's common too.
Actually everything Charvel does is Fender but Better imo. More common to see Ebony too. Except their colors suck. Fender has everyone beat there.

a headless would be ideal. i could probably play while driving. keeping a functional and practical studio in a truck has indeed presented many challenges. routing cables is tough bc you have to basically have them free floating or suspended, but also out of the way bc lack of room. overall its a very tricky thing that is basically not worth the time and effort and experimentation unless you own your truck and can count on keeping a permanent rig setup. otherwise its just too damn bouncy and unstable. I've destroyed several acoustic guitars because of crazy bumps on I-70 between indianapolis and dayton, as well as 35 through WV near the ohio line. chicago roads are terrible too. Had a 70's guild acoustic that broke, as well as a 78 Takamine that fell from top bunk (in case) and broke. Lost one of those cheapy martin x series acoustics too. Dozens of USB-C cables have been ripped out of gear, it is a huge problem with interfaces and peripherals that use it, which is why you basically have to use some kind of cable bungie tethered to something to give it the ability to flex. Its a nightmare... totally not worth it but I am psychotic about gear so I've tried to maintain a relatively sophisticated rig/studio setup

It's really not that much more. Checking their site, a Gibson Custom 1968 Les Paul Custom Reissue is $6,199 and this one is $6,499
>>
>>128779000
Gibson sells their factory rejects on reverb in their demo shop. Reworking a previously rejected guitar with a new custom finish would obviously command a higher price due to the additional work put into it. Try not being autistic for once.

that is basically where I'm at. honestly bro thats a sick guitar, not sure why you dont like it other than omg guitartuber signature model bad.

i bought one of those badlands guitars a few weeks ago bc i felt it was a good deal for a somewhat custom guitar. i really liked the metallic leopard paint job on it and the specs and thought it wasn't a bad deal for a made in america. but what tipped me over the edge was that apparently everyone hates them bc phil mcknight was involved in their production/investment and everyone had been shitting on them because they were a "guitartuber" brand. the shitflinging made me want it more. now i got a guitar that may very well be one of a kind (its hardtail, most others aren't). plays great, sounds great and looks super gay but in a non gay way

The part of your brain that you have control over that can talk and think and communicate needs to feed the information to the part of your brain that can't talk or express itself to anyone but the other hemisphere. You essentially have two brains.
