Whats the deal with pickup magnet heights on fenders?

The D and G string are higher while the others seem to be lower.
>>
>>128949715
The fretboard isn't flat so neither are the poles
>>
>>128949730

Makes sense, I didn't make the connection.
>>
>>128949715
It's called the vintage stagger.
Not to be confused with your grandpa trying to get to the toilet when he's drunk.
>>
>>128949737
Pretty much all pickups are like rhat, humbuckers too
Some pickup designs have flat pole pieces
>>
You are tasked with introducing a true innovation to the electric guitar, an instrument that has remained essentially the same for close to a century. What do you do?

I'd start Maximum Plank Microchip. This would be an online database and tax collection when more than two planks exist under one owner. Studies have shown when many planks gather in one household that you don't play. The vocaroos speak for themselves.
>>
>>128949760

A chip that lets you choose your toan wood.

But in reality there's very little you can do to the instrument that hasn't already been done. It's just six strings wound to pitch and then you pluck on them and fret them to make a note. Not unlike pianos, or simplicty of sax/trumpet.

The innovation comes from the user/player creativity, not the over engineering of the instrument.
>>
>>128949845
Has anyone made a guitar where you can mount two pickups in the same position and switch between them on the go? Like two pickups mounted on a thing that can rotate and you hot swap them by turning the thing?
>>
>>128949760
Stabilized wood.
>>
>>128949874

This thing?

>>
>>128949891

The only worth stabilizing is the neck and there already necks made of stable or more stable materials.

If you believe in tone wood the juice might be worth the squeeze otherwise fogetaboutit.
>>
>>128949760
Why does it need to be innovated?
Violins and cellos are virtually unchanged since they were invented around 500 years ago. No one is asking for violins to change.
The guitar is a solved instrument. Fender got it right in 1950 when the Telecaster came out and Gibson got it right in 1957 when they released the two humbucker guitar
Nothing else that came after has been necessary
>>
>>128949971
How often do you hear cellos on the radio dipshit?
>>
>>128949996
why does that matter? so because guitars are on the radio more they need to fix what isn't broken?
>>
>>128949950
No, I believe in humidity affecting wood. Plus, the body expands and contracts just the same on hollowbodies. Candy-coloured teenager guitars need not apply.

Guitars are obsolete. Nobody wants to hear epin shreddy guitar solos anymore and if anyone wants a guitar line in their song they can just emulate it with whatever software. And the singer songwriter era is over so acoustics are out of the question too.

Add lights to every strings fret on the fretboard that can show different inversions and scale or chord progressions as you play and options to stay in key as you solo
>>
>>128950210

Yes. Just like your future wife will make not salivate over big booty hoes
>>
>>128950210
What you should be doing is buying a guitar that fits a purpose, not buying them just to buy them.
I have:
Gibson Les Paul for 2 humbucker sound
PRS Singlecut for 2 humbuckers in different tunings
Fender Telecaster for single coil sound
Fender Telecaster for open G tuning

My next guitar will be a Les Paul Junior for the P90 then I will probably not buy another for a very long time

>>128951732
They’re fine after upgrading a bunch of the hardware. Squier vibratos aren’t great, and going up to an AVRI vibrato or Mastery vibrato is a definite upgrade. You can get by with the stock bridge assuming you’re using heavier strings and blue locktite all the screws on it. That brings the $400 Squier up to around $700 or so assuming you’re setting it up yourself, and for $700 you’re almost better off getting something used after saving some more money.

Remember the epoxy pour "cardboard" guitars? How good of an idea would it be to pour an epoxy guitar but use recycled toenail clippings instead?
>>
>>128950627
I have a CV jag and two good Frnder Jags. The CVs are like that African helicopter made out of cardboard boxes compared to the Fender’s Apache. Okay, it might not be that extreme, but if you get a CV and actually play it, you will end up upgrading the bridge and the trem and at that point you could have just gotten a second hand Vintera Jag or MIJ Jag if you were patient/lucky. The Traditional II Jag has identical specs to the American Original Jaguar.
>>
Jag bridges suck, keep a mustang style bridge even if you upgrade from the squier one. And go AVRI trem not that mastery bs.

What’s the deal with music critics?
They never make music but boy, do they have opinions about it!
You spend ten years learning an instrument, writing songs, recording an album
they listen once… on laptop speakers… while answering emails.
“Hmm. Lacks soul.”
And they always talk like they know what you meant.
“I think the artist was trying to say”
No!
The artist was trying to finish the song before rent was due!
They never just like something.
It’s always, “It’s a bold but flawed statement.”
What does that even mean?
Did the song interrupt you?
Was it rude?
And the scale!
Four out of ten?!
Four?!
That’s not criticism that’s academic probation!

I havent tried using a speaker when listening to them. I just figured I could hear them. Dont know why you need the song playing at full volume in your bass cover. I guess it's a skill issue on my part. Just feel like Im not really getting it though I just started so I guess I should stop letting myself get discouraged so easily idk

What the fuck? I've been playing for almost 30 years and that's never happened.

Skill issue. If your fingers are too fat to use the frets past 12 then consider adding fork putdowns to failure to your routine.
