I heard it all yes but it lacks depth its still just ambient the key progression is hyper basic and just 2 layers at most, i counted 1 layer. Learn a bit of theory, get into those synthesia videos and learn some progression and do it in reverse or something so its not exactly the same and see if it fits

one of the biggest pitfalls in making music is rendering early then listening 20 times and then you get bored with it and repeat the process.

just wanted to let you know that you shouldnt do this. just make a full song and dont render until it is really done.

and then to fix it with the use of reference tracks is recommended but then one ends up chasing the sound of others and becomes a lowkey-plagiarizer and "biter".

it will have the ghost of something else anyway.

in reality most people dont understand how music relates to food and the senses, and how it can be a parasite or infectious.
think about it. it is always about "taste", people say things like "it is a lot like cooking"
you know what can happen in cooking? you poison people or infect them with parasites.

basically when you listen to your own creation it is parasitic, the exchange is against you.

>acquire tastes
think about it. what made you like it. it is like the parasite that commands you to like something else.

people literally say "i cant get this out of my head" like it is in there and they WANT to get rid of it.
LITERALLY CALLED EARWORMS.
>>
>>129417232
Any track can become an earworm provided sufficient exposition.

splitting the bass into hp and lp signals is one way to mix bass and balance the frequencies with a bit more precision, but is it also common to do this with other instruments like electric guitar or even on a drum bus? i couldn't see why you'd do it on vocals but it seems like everything else could be split between higher and lower frequencies

Go through all the chords in the instrument u play and write down the ones u like the most with their correspondant notation and that's what i do (if u only mean chords). Otherwise just enjoy ur instrument and things will come out on it's own
>>
>>129422315

Yeah, I dont like that genre of music. I just cant lmao. Like the other anon said:
>DO YOU DO YOU DO YOU DO YOU DO YOU DO YOU DOYOU DOYOU DOYU DOYU DYU

People are being nice on Reddit or wahtever the hell u posed this on. I mean try to sell your song, I will sound pretentious but there is still a market for auto tune slop like this, with the trap beat in the background.

The most creative thing in that song is that repeating little keyboard progression trin-trin-trin trin-trin-trin
which is probably like 3 or 4 notes.

Idk man I dont like this type of music thats all I can tell you, it does have normie appeal. I would tell you to learn more piano.

For drums just:

I feel like experimenting around with keys after getting inspired with one of those synthesia videos is how you come up with melody, the keyboard just unlocks melody better than any other instrument, ofc you have to modify things to not get in a lawsuit dont copy anything you hear exactly the same, just get inspired by it.

>piano far from computer desk
Nah it's all pretty close cause my room isn't that big. I can wear my headphones plugged into the mixer and play piano at the same time. Its actually the perfect distance for me so I can keep my headphones on while working. I used to have a desk piano but I got rid of it. Wasn't really any need for it when I have the casio. I might get a small midi keyboard for my desk to plug into the live 3. Casio is plugged into the mac which has more vst options than the live 3 but I do want more than the pads for the live 3 sound. I can just plug the casio into but I dont wanna go back and forth between the two.

Seems like a section, not a song.
It sounds good but the growls could use getting louder with each repetition, like a build up into a crescendo.

This desperately needs an intro, you can start the intro with acoustic, something calm and ambient then BAM a breakdown into all of this you already recorded and edited.

tl;dr vocals need to get stronger, needs an intro.
>>
>>129428748
that's a good idea, something ambient at the start would be cool. maybe bookend it with an ambient ending as well

What I mean by the grows getting stronger is that the way you do them dude sounds like some imp, they are weak, they have a place in the song but it would be cool if you heard the vocals metamorphosing into a full grown ass demon, growl harder as the song builds up, as it is sounds kinda repetitive. Think about songs in sections, its very important to do this. Apply some of that music theory and architecture. Doing like the old masters: build ups and crescendos is good. Then you can add elements of prog if you want and change the whole tune, key center or even time signature mid song, like a song within a song but that is more ambitious do this as you git moar gud.

i think it all sounds a little bit too hi fi, like a bit dry/clean. i haven't cross referenced w the original but it should feel a bit more spaced out if you're going for syd's solo career kind of vibe. try some tape saturation (simulation), maybe low passing or a dip with a high shelf, and mix in some plate reverb. should be more information in the center in general i think but you can keep your stereo mix and run elements into a mono plate reverb and it would probably do a good job of addressing all the aforementioned problems.

I don't think that has anything to do with which hand is dominate... that's just full retard. Hands aren't symmetrical about the middle finger and the gap between the thumb and pointer is way larger than any other finger, so the hands are suited for different types of chords and intervals. That's why pieces for left hand only are more common than right hand only -- you're able to have your thumb play a soaring melody well above the accompaniment.

Once you can read Sheet Music its easier but in Sheet Music its hard to get down the BMP / tempo if you enver heard the song before

yes i know what 4/4 (common time) or 3/4 (waltz) are, etc but even still in Synthesia you hear the song's speed very clearly. Its best to use both.

DAWs read synthesia notation better because its midi.

- It's really difficult to play and record them so that they sound perfectly in time.
- Problems with some attack of "one" getting cut off because the recording loop starts at the same time.

Fuck this. I want a super silent room with soft walls.
>>
>>129443949
The drums are too high-pitched and/or you are using the wrong mic/mics
>>
do people just pirate vocaloid stuff? not really sure what the strategy is for getting into using them.

Cheers anon, this is quite insightful
>>
>recorded an entire drum kit with a single dynamic mic
>it somehow sounded amazing
>no longer use acoustic instruments due to room and living constraints
>drum programs and amp sims cant even get close to that sound
Analogue and acoustic is the way to go. Amp sims are cool, drum machines are convenient, but definitely lifeless
>>
>>129444672
Vocaloid sounds bad, its not worth using it. Its just a meme only gamers will understand.

True, just post it on youtube and let some chinese freaks steal it and reupload it to other platforms i think that's better ((it isn't))

>>
>>129444672
This is the strategy https://4download.net/3579-dt-synthesizer-v-studio-pro-win.html
As for vocaloid like miku len etc i would recommend just using rvc, vocaloid's note input interface is cancer and they use plugins to convert from wavs to midi notes anyways so it's the same thing really

>not making full beats but making things on my MPC and watching videos
Gonna take a long time to learn everything this thing can do. I have the sound running into my 404 but I wanted to sample the 404 sound im fucking with from the MPC back onto the MPC but I don't think that's possible without a computer which sucks

Have you tried a 1/4" out from the 404 into the 1/4" input on the MPC Live?

No not yet I'll see if that works. I think one problem I'm having is my mixer being apart of the situation. I have a onyx 16. I can send audio out of a channel into a monitor channel and have the audio routed to either the 404 or live 3 that way. I dont want to lose the option of sampling whatever from my Mac into my 404.

just want to make sure anons think about tinnitus and how it will fuck them up for live especially blue eyed people. '

people are not deceptive enough, like that guy that thinks he is smart by posting his IQ.
read an interview once by a leading iq researcher, says he will never get a test, 0 benefits.
revealing your iq is probably one of the most retarded things you can do.

oh also i forgot to shitpost about it yesterday but zacidfilter is best used as noise substitute.

not very practical as a filter (or rather anything that makes it unique makes it unusable for that purpose and when you're not utilizing that it's simply outclassed by literally any other filter) however it is sick in place of where da bass heads would otherwise use bit crushing (duh), corpus, erosion etc

thanks for reading my ted talk (fuck ted talk)

Anyone use linux?
My desktop isn't available it uses windows and I usually am using that for my music, but due to circumstances I'm stuck on a laptop with linux.
I have been learning to use the LMMS daw, I tried installing vital and other vsts, but it just doesn't detect or show up at all. Weirdly enough I can open up vital as a standalone, but idk how to make music with it when I can't use it in the daw.
It's genuinly annoying, I'm also not that good with synths so I can't really make good synths out of the stock plugins and the stock plugins presets sound like shit to me
>>
and also you shouldn't be allowed to make plugins if your distortion uses a fucking PERCENTAGE wtf

why are you doing this i just said i need to get some distance from this bpd-freerange-doublebind-anti-flourishing-skinner-box

the haas stuff is 70 years old...for me that is on the iceberg in the water.

the bait is not putting reverb in there because that is delay. ( ͝סּ ͜ʖ͡סּ)
