Good morning. Time to practice before work

>>129657902
I love that song. Saw them live every time they came over here.

It's a fantastic song. black midi can be very hit or miss for me outside of their debut which I love but it's a song I will always come back to. I started learning it about a year ago but I felt like my playing werent exactly on that level so i put it off and come back to it just recently and knocked it out. have a feeling i could do it as a performance for my music class at university

>hit or miss
I think every black midi song is good personally. I've never disliked anything they've put out. But I think I'm probably partly bias because of my experience at their concerts. Every time I saw BM live, I somehow ran into geordie in the audience. During their Philly show we had a whole conversation about the opener nmandi cause I was blown away. He just walked up and started talking me. Very crazy moment

What really makes the difference in tone? I can most of the time pinpoint when someone is playing a les paul or a fender, but surely you could make one sound like the other with effects and amps, no?
I am so clueless when it comes to sound engineering.
People here will say the magnets, but everybody changes their configuration all the time, strings are more or less the same and they change too.

Probably a Rickenbacker 4001/4003, which is a shame because those are my favorite bass after the mighty P bass. >What really makes the difference in tone?
the player.
every person has a different bio-electromagnetic signal.
the resistance factor of your body is what makes the difference.
this is proven by multiple players playing on the same exact setup without changing anything but the player.
it's also why some bands sound better with certain guitarists than other ones.

bass already sounds great direct so not having an amp isn’t a big deal
>>

I'm more talking about when you have such a bad setup that your notes fret out. not electronic hum.
a little bit of fret buzz is generally fine, but not dead notes.

I like a lot. I'm usually playing with the rhythm circuit on. Still struggling to get a solid practice routine made up though. Some reason I can't get any steady progress on guitar like I did on bass last year. I kinda want to do rhythm guitar. Since my female friend can already do the lead

I'll be sure to give that a try out tomorrow when i practice. I usually always have my blues, RAT and big muff on while i play.

Yeah my technique is really bad and honestly I don't have anything solid to practice for technique. i have been trying to do chromatics and scales to get better with my fingers

if you know what genre of music you want to learn on guitar i would recommend just jumping straight into learning songs, they will teach you technique. I would supplement that with learning your intervals, how chords are built using intervals, and the fretboard. when you start to understand that you can actually analyze what’s going on in a song and learn from it.

I'm not in your gang.
1. define your goal. be very exacting. "I want to be good" is not specific enough. If you are working on cover tunes list the ones you want to learn. Give yourself goals in small steps. "I want to play (song)." Ask yourself what you need to do to learn that song. Break it into pieces and learn it piece by piece.
Give yourself goals. Achieve them piece by piece to attain the bigger goal.
YOU MUST DEFINE YOUR GOAL.
You can do it, anon. Tell us your goals, so we can give feedback.

Nah fender won't win shit. Maybe they can do it like Gibson where companies won't be able to make exact 1 to 1 copies of their shapes but two horned strat inspired designs are here to stay and fender can't do anything about it.

as best as I could read it was aimed at southeast asian guitars that were doing 1:1 reproductions. a lot of the legit companies already have variations on the bodies that make them legally distinct. really all you need to do is make an access cut on the lower horn like prs does on their guitars. fender could use one anyway their upper fret access sucks
>>
>>129665886
no they develop worn out frets and rust
>>
>>129665886
Acoustics do, they sound different as they age. Electrics kind of do but it’s mostly just the magnets in the pickups losing magnet magic. But then you’re also buying all those years of wear and tear and wood drying out and metal corroding.

Is the satin finish achieved by satin paint or by sanding/sand blasting?
>>
>>129665959
I thought that tiger was a rat and the output jack was SpongeBob from the thumbnail

satin finish is achieved by spraying a final coat over a previously leveled coat and not buffing it. the satin is created by the surface unevenness of a spray applicator

I don’t see why multi-band parametric EQs aren’t a thing in most amps. After watching the videos of the dude “I’m just a musician, I’m not a scientist, I don’t know anything about [topic]…”, it really just seems like you could 3D print cabs out of insulation and breadboard your own head with EQ pedal(s) across the signal chain.

I guess this is why amp sims are so accurate - it was the EQ the entire time
