nah. it's a great album (and one of the best of 1985 for sure), but it ain't one of the best of all time. their debut EP's a lot more consistently excellent imo

i'm not sure about at the gates, but i've heard that opeth's 00s releases lose a lot of the death metal sound so those might be more acceptable.

Oh shit, I can hear the hi-hat on Breaking the Law become higher in pitch indeed, but not on 0:06, only post-2:43

Liner notes on the 2001 reissue also said they used pool cues and milk bottles for the sound effects of Metal Gods.

I heard that he answered fan questions more than the rest of manowar did. In the past I wanted to ask him about some of the songs he wrote with them. But I never ended up asking him (since I couldn't find if he had a fanmail inbox).

He had writing credits on a few of my favorite manowar songs, like Each Dawn I Die and Secret of Steel (among others).

Both of those 2 albums, the 'Crimson Idol' and 'KFD', also seem to have better audio quality. There's no official upload for 'Still not black enough' on youtube, so idk if that plays a role.

You get no points for mentioning I wanna rock, or we're not gonna take it. They're good, but i imagine anyone who has heard the band has heard those songs.
