Are Fender's "tall" narrow frets really that tiny? I grabbed a squier by the neck today and pressing on the first string, I was immediately touching the wood. I was thinking of getting a classic vibe eventually but now I kinda don't want to since it has those same frets.

There are a number of reasons why but one of them is younger people not picking up an instrument because artists who actually play have almost completely vanished from mainstream culture. Releasing a signature model for a band that was hot nearly a quarter of a century ago in a desperate attempt to bolster sales isn't a good sign for the company's prospects.

The compresssor is almost always on, then the BD2 is used to give light crunchy saturation, all that combines to a barely broken up but nicely saturated tone which I'm aiming at something like Jimi Hendrix when his fuzz was off, then the DS1 is there to be like the fuzz, and the metal zone can go over it to sound heavy af for metal stuff. I use the wah and delay all the time, the reverb stays on with a slight room sound in the back. The cool thing is the compressor really tames it and focuses it in a way that really works well at quiet volumes, but if i click it off it gets even more saturated and louder which can cool, if I'm ever playing a solo and I need a boost I can turn it off.My only concern is that with the bd2 and ds1 it might get drown out in band situation, but im thinking that the eq will help in that case to push the mids, and i should also just be album to go louder and fix the issue. But who knows when I'll be in a band again.
Just got a pignose 7-100 from reverb. Put batteries in it and they got hot as fuck and started smoking. Came with an ac adapter, amp works fine with that.

>>130880215In my experience 3nps is good for playing repeating scale sequences but it's a bit harder to visualize chords and arpeggios in the 3nps shapes because they move up the neck diagonally. Not to say that visualization can't be done, or shouldn't be worked on, but there are other vertical scale shapes that make a lot of sense in regard to chords and arpeggios. Lately I'm on the Greg Howe thing of playing 3nps except on the G string, where you play only 2 notes, to keep the shapes consistent and vertical. I also intermarry this with my Pentatonic + 2 approach, as well as the 3nps system. It's a bit of a mess, but I think it's good to think of these things from as many different angles as possible to develop a comprehensive understanding.
