>used to riding motorcycle and cargo ebike >fix the flat on my old shitty bicycle to get some exercise on a nice day>trail angle super aggressive and unstable>center of gravity stupid high>leaned all the way the fuck over, can't see shit>wheels feel comically oversized, steers like shitNow I am a fatass that knows nothing, can someone explain why I would need the stupid geometry outside of racing, which I will never do? Explain to me how pic rel wouldnt be better than a normal bicycle if you just want to have a fun experience riding
Get a Dutch style city bike.
>>1986299I have a bike with that general design (except 20" wheels). It is perfectly serviceable, but smaller wheels do have less "give" when riding over uneven surfaces. I can feel every expansion joint when riding over concrete (I don't sidewalk ride, but some paths merge to the sidewalk at intersections).Oh, and the centre of gravity isn't that much different than a normal bike. I've still had the front wheel lose traction on hills that are too steep.
>>1986299>motorcycleNot comparable by geometry>cargo ebikeProbably sitting ultra low on a wide fat seat -> also not comparable to a normal bike. You want a normal mtb style bike where your seat has about the same height as your handlebars. Get appropiate tyres for your riding style and underground and call it a day. Best case would be no suspension at all because 95% of people dont even need it. 2-3 inch tyres absorb nearly all vibrations and cobbles. And you wont have a fun experience on your pic rel trust me.>>1986309Dont listen to this anon.
why are you pretending to be dumb. you already know the answer to your question. i guess this is better than the average "unracer" thread, though.
The wheels are by far the worst part of it. The wheelbase is also too short for high speed handling, and by high speed I mean like a normal speed that an average cyclist would move at (contrary to unracer belief it is routine for cyclists who aren't geriatric cardiac patients to go 30-35mph a few times per ride)It also puts all your weight on your crotch which you probably won't notice if you're just riding a few blocks here and there but for rides of a half day or more you'll really be hating that thing.
>>1986426I don't know what an unracer is>>1986434>wheelbase is too short for high speed handlingExplain to me how that makes any sense, why would a short wheelbase affect that?Large tires though, make turns and corners handle worse. I will admit they are better for the bumps and cracks and holes on a typical unmaintained city street or bike path.
>>1986486short wheelbase makes it harder to keep a straight line. these little bikes with their little wheels are designed for weaving in and out of tight english alleyways at a modest pace.
>>1986434Not all of them have a short wheelbase. Maybe the trifolds run a little shorter, but my bifold has a 1m wheelbase.
>>1986299Most of the weight of a bike is the rider....
>>1986434average cyclists don't go 30mph ever, try 14-17 max, maybe 20 going down here. These folders are for going that speed, if you want to go fast get a proper roadbike.t lycra sexual who actually can hit 30mph on the flat and knows you won't go that fast without straining
>>1986966you probably don't live in an area where people ride bikes. let me guess texas? florida? mississippi?this is why you have this bizarre idea that you're some kind of undiscovered pro-athlete-tier rider and everyone else is beneath you. almost everything you believe happens to be incorrect but this being 4chan you are free to take my post as being argumentative rather than an attempt to clear up your confusion about what is and isn't normal
>>1986967i live in philly even when I see pro urban cyclists riding they are going like 20mph max. Any faster than that and it's a lycraboi> undiscovered pro-athlete-tier rider and everyone else is beneath youthat's a lot to assume, I get passed by people all the time on roadbikes but they're always wearing spandex with $4k bikes and you know they do it all the time, not commuters.
>>1986983oh no wonder, yeah I've been to philly, bought a bike there once and took it home on the train. the riding is granny-tier. pancake flat, narrow streets, and blind corners, you don't even need gears because there's no way to go more than 15mph unless you're suicidal. sucks for you I guess

>>1986299are you riding a 29er mtb?post bike>>1986309kys>>1986762yeah this the com being high is unsolvableits rly not an issue anyway but interesting to note>>1986966who the fuck never goes 30?i go over 40 every ride but i live in a hilly place so i wouldnt expect the average person to do that but 30?cmon fucking anyone can hit 30 on even the most gentle downhill
>>198696617mph is my average lol
