It’s more about the vehicles being able to share data with the infrastructure as well as other cars. You could download applications that allow you to synch up with other drivers to all drive the same speed in the eco-lane for example. This would get rid of the traffic wave/compression accordion effect. Or you might be able to download an app that lets you send data to traffic signals, and when there are enough drivers at a light, it might change the timing to allow for the most efficient traffic flow.
