https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-taps-matt-gaetz-attorney-general

President-elect Trump on Wednesday announced Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., as his pick for attorney general — an unexpected pick that took many, including fellow House Republicans, by surprise.

If confirmed, Gaetz will head up the Justice Department after Trump is sworn in for his second term in January.

Trump first announced his nomination in a post on Truth Social, saying Gaetz "has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice."

Gaetz confirmed the nomination on the social media site X, adding, "It will be an honor to serve as President Trump’s Attorney General!"

In his statement on Truth Social, Trump praised Gaetz for his experience on the House Judiciary Committee, where he said Gaetz "played a key role" in "defeating the Russia, Russia Hoax," and exposing what Trump described as "alarming and systemic Government Corruption and Weaponization."

"He is a Champion for the Constitution and the Rule of Law," he added.

the house ethics committee investigating him is 5-5 bipartisan and chaired by a republican.
also this
>Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-Fla.) resignation from Congress came two days before the House Ethics Committee was set to vote on releasing a “highly damaging” report outlining its investigation into the Republican, according to multiple sources familiar with the probe.
>The committee planned to vote Friday on releasing the report. Ethics loses its jurisdiction over Gaetz when he leaves Congress.
>The secretive panel has been investigating Gaetz on and off since 2021.
>President-elect Donald Trump announced that he would nominate Gaetz to be attorney general Wednesday.
the dude begged trump to tap him for cabinet so he could resign and avoid a report on his crimes getting released lol

>>

Even if you ignore Gaetz's pedophile shenanigans (like him getting caught on camera going to a facility making false IDs for trafficking victims with someone who got convicted for sex trafficking), he's ridiculously unqualified. Gaetz only practiced law privately for 3 years after graduating law school before he went into politics. He has nowhere near enough experience to be America's head prosecutor.
>>
>>1362149
>(like him getting caught on camera going to a facility making false IDs for trafficking victims with someone who got convicted for sex trafficking)
Hunter had CSAM on his computer and evidence that he trafficked underaged hookers too.
Nobody gives a shit anymore. Not after democrats covering for Epstein after so many years.
>He has nowhere near enough experience to be America's head prosecutor.
Biden is retarded
Fetterman is retarded.
Hunter was a crack addict sent to build biolabs in Ukraine.
I mean honestly. What the fuck are we talking about anymore.
>>
>>1362151
said computer is so utterly tainted by an unclear chain of custody it can never be admitted into evidence. If it was real thank the blind tech store owner who got it for fucking up so badly he tainted your primary piece of evidence.

Also, not only does Biden's current AG have over 2 decades of experience as an active lawyer, but so did BOTH of Trump's AGs. Gaetz has 3 years. He wouldn't qualify to be a district attorney, never mind AG.
>>
>>1362159
>unclear chain of custody
We made this same argument in 2020 when talking about election fraud and mail-in ballots. None of you gave a shit, so you don't get to use it.
>He wouldn't qualify to be a district attorney, never mind AG.
Hunter was acting as an unregistered foreign agent to multiple nations. Massive crackhead, still managed to built 10+ biolabs and broker numerous deals with various energy magnates.
Realistically, experience doesn't matter anymore. The Biden admin. revealed that most of our government is run on clout alone. Worst case scenario Gaetz is a total scumfuck retard who surrounds himself with actual experts, still does the job anyways.

The diary was real. The concern was people stealing shit that could contain info about the Biden's activities. However, all the shit in it can't be verified because it was stolen and then sold, and there's no way to prove they didn't just write in it in the meantime.

Again there's a reason why you need to establish chain of custody of evidence, especially documentation-related evidence that can be added to by another party.

That's why so many of them are so stoked about Gaetz being the new attorney general, he can pardon them all and get the rape train chugging again.

And best part, when the under age girls they molest get pregnant they now make it sure that she has to keep the child.

What will hurt is only 3 years as an actual practicing lawyer. Legitimately discarding all character-based issues with Gaetz, the facts are that he straight up doesn't have enough experience actually being a laywer despite having a degree.

Huh. Wonder why dems didn't lead with that, instead of running around getting the vapors over a 17 year old prostitute lying about being an 18 year old prostitute.

Where does it say you have to be a lawyer to head the DoJ? Ideally they'd have no schooling whatsoever so they haven't been indoctrinated.
>>
>>1362326
>Wonder why dems didn't lead with that
Because Republicans have appointed a ton of federal judges with zero trial court experience and give exactly zero fucks about practical qualifications vs loyalty.

Republicans still ostensibly claim to care about combatting pedophilia. They don't, mind you, but at least there's some mildly fresh hypocrisy charges you can levy there, on top of the whole abject moral failure of the entire party.

Attorney General is supposed to be the president's foremost authority on legal matters. They're in charge of enforcing state and federal law and giving legal opinions. Things that someone who's relatively inexperienced at law, nevermind has no experience as say, a district attorney, are very liable to fuck up.

Actually that's WH Counsel. Also, none of this shit matters. Trump will push through enough judges to get whatever the fuck he wants, law be damned. And lord knows they don't care about prosecuting crimes. No need to invest in coaches when you own all the refs.
>>
>>1362079
Does anyone in this thread have any actual evidence of Gaetz fucking a minor, or is it just hearsay?
>>
>>1362380
There's an entire ethics board investigation into it. They were allegedly about to release it when he resigned soon after Trump said he'd nominate him. Currently there's a push to release it.

Aside from that, he was good friends with another Florida republican who got caught and charged with sex trafficking, who implicated him after his own arrest.
>>
>>1362383
>There's an entire ethics board investigation into it
They're also was an entire law enforcement investigation into it and they came back with nothing
>>
>>1362383
>Aside from that, he was good friends with another Florida republican who got caught and charged with sex trafficking, who implicated him after his own arrest.
Translation: cutting a deal to burn a former friend in exchange for a lighter sentence.
>>
>>1362384
They stopped because of a witness credibility issue. He never got fully cleared and they definitely found something, just not enough to prosecute. We also already know his buddy Joel Greenberg was definitely in the sex trafficking business. And before you allege "muh democrats tried to cancel him!" the guy leading the ethics investigation is a republican.

It's also incredibly convenient that he resigned, which eliminates the ethics investigation since they don't have jurisdiction to look into him since he's no longer a member, despite facing an uncertain path to AG with how many members of congress he pissed off over the years.
>>
>>1362380
Well we also have him apparently living with a "son" named Nestor since the latter was 12 and Gaetz himself was 25. He's also changed stories on how he knows him several times, like saying he was a local student in 2016, a personal helper in 2017, his son in 2020, and then later said Nestor was the brother of his ex-girlfriend.

Which definitely isn't suspect at all for someone who's buddy got 11 years for sex trafficking.
>>

In those letters, Greenberg detailed his relationship with Gaetz. He confessed to paying young women for sex. And he claimed that he, Gaetz, and others had sex with a minor they believed to be 19 at the time. Greenberg said he learned she was underage on Sept. 4, 2017 from “an anonymous tip” and quickly contacted Gaetz.

“Immediately I called the congressman and warned him to stay clear of this person and informed him she was underage,” Greenberg wrote. “He was equally shocked and disturbed by this revelation.”

Greenberg continued in the handwritten draft that he “confronted” the then-17-year-old and explained to her “how serious of a situation this was, how many people she put in danger.”

“She apologized and recognized that by lying about her age, she endangered many people,” he continued. “There was no further contact with this individual until after her 18th birthday.”

Why do whenever people point out that Matt Gaetz, an elected congressman and soon to be national prosecutor, is a proven pedophile (why was he accompanying a 17 year old girl trafficked for the purposes of doing sex work as a married man??) conservatives shift the goal posts to some random private individual?

Hunter Biden didn't run for office, but Matt Gaetz got elected, and is not the national prosecutor. This is a great shame to your people, one that will always be in the history books. Always.

Don't worry my angry friend, I got you

> A confession letter written by Joel Greenberg in the final months of the Trump presidency claims that he and close associate Rep. Matt Gaetz paid for sex with multiple women—as well as a girl who was 17 at the time.
> “On more than one occasion, this individual was involved in sexual activities with several of the other girls, the congressman from Florida’s 1st Congressional District and myself,” Greenberg wrote in reference to the 17-year-old.
> “From time to time, gas money or gifts, rent or partial tuition payments were made to several of these girls, including the individual who was not yet 18. I did see the acts occur firsthand and Venmo transactions, Cash App or other payments were made to these girls on behalf of the Congressman.”

Yes, your national prosecutor is disgusting.

Don't stoop to their level. The AG is someone who has been caught having sex with less than half his age and abusing drugs, as a married, catholic, congressman of the USA. It doesn't matter if it were 50 18 year olds, it would still be shocking in any other country for this to happen, and that's what matters.

Even putting all that aside, 3 years of actual law experience is embarrassingly unqualified for one of the top legal positions in the country.

>What do you think about Ashley Biden's diary?
>>An often circulated page purported to be from the diary, which chronicled its author's addiction recovery in intimate detail, makes reference to sexual trauma and poses questions in search of an explanation for being "hyper-sexualized @ a young age." Along with mentions of not liking to visit a certain family's house, "being sexualized" with a female friend, and "having sex with friends @ a young age," the author noted taking "showers with my dad (probably not appropriate)."[59]

We have hard lines because if we don't, you'll "age is just a number, it's just 1 year younger" down to infants, you sick fuck.

Also, yes, US Congressmen shouldn't be plowing 17 year olds at drug fueled orgies.
>>
>>1362532
Why do we care about what Gaetz did when democrats exist?
>>
>>1362533
most people don't instinctively protect kid fuckers, but republicunts do
>>
>>1362514
Hey, calm down. Don't act like you're the pedo here. Your new AG is.
It wasn't dropped for having "no evidence". American lawmakers are not complete idiots.

Here is the evidence you're looking for >>1362475. In case you have trouble reading (which is okay, republicans are the least educated demographic, afterall) then have a watch first https://youtube.com/watch?v=70hoV-YYRkE
>>
>>1362534
Because this is a war, and we're winning because we won't let ourselves be distracted by bullshit. Dems are truly retarded.
>>
>>1362528
Hazarding a guess? Greenberg is an inherently unreliable witness due to doing it as part of a plea deal, and the girl was high on all the other drugs at the party. Things that tend to make a jury doubt.

Though it's also worth noting the ethics investigation was looking at additional claims compared to the justice department one, so it's possible new evidence turned up relating to his activity as a congressman.

Either way him resigning is enough to cast serious doubt if they were about to release their findings, since him resigning also blocks them from doing so due to losing jurisdiction.
>>
>>1362537
He could probably win in the court of public opinion by saying this is a deep state conspiracy to discredit him. He could make it really nasty for anybody in his own party to go after him, especially with Trump's backing.
>>
>>1362081
the guy who went through three years of partisan leftist FBI investigation and they found nothing, yea, that guy.
>>
>>1362084
sure would be nice to have the unredacted epstein and diddy client lists released to the public, don't you think? why won't the leftists who have the lists release them?
>>
>>1362541
>why won't the leftists who have the lists release them?
Mostly the Clintons. Both parties want to keep this shit under wraps as elites on either side are freaks. If it were only dems or reps, the other side would have leaked it by now.
>>
>>1362541
Don't act like every single Trump appointee wouldn't be on there either, that's why it won't get released. Because American politicians are disgusting, and act against your interests.
>>
>>1362541
are you going to need time coming up with a bullshit excuse about why Trump won't release it before the end of January?
>>
>>1362521
Like I thought, no fucking evidence.
>Oh this other guy he knows went to jail so CLEARLY he's guilty!
>>
>>1362545
I'm not partisan in my wish to see these lists released. I think the American people deserve to know the truth. Why do you seem to be against the idea if you think all of Trump's appointees would be on the list?
>>
>>1362556
>Why do you seem to be against the idea if you think all of Trump's appointees would be on the list?
What makes you think I'm not? Stop trying to start fights.
>>
>>1362550
Anon why did he go to jail?

Oh right, for providing sex trafficked girls to people

Who did he provide them to?

Oh well... we can't REALLY say. Just have reports of him hanging out with this senator at the same places the girls were... but that's PROBABLY nothing...
>>
>>1362570
It's amazing how you've convinced yourself if you just keep repeating yourself your little non issue will somehow become important.
>>
>>1362572
>non issue
Why is Greenburg currently serving an 11 year sentence anon?
>>
>>1362588
Not the appointee
>>
>>1362590
We literally have records of him paying Greenburg for his services.
>>
>>1362572
If this is a non issue, then the bar is just remarkably low right now. The standards set for an AG has been lowered.
>>
>>1362079
>Matt Gaetz
>accused of consensual sex with a person within five years of his age and also above that state's age of consent
oh no
>>
>>1362570
>Oh right,
I love how you're saying this like it's a gotcha. Just because one of your friends (pretend you ever had any in high school) gets busted for selling drugs at school doesn't mean you were in on it even if you occasionally smoked a blunt with him.
>>
>>1362617
she was in high school
there were witnesses
:^)
>>
>>1362605
We literally have records of him paying an underage girl for her services.

Anyway, you're wasting your breath. They know he's a pedo. They don't care. That's not a disqualifier for them.
>>
>>1362686
There's a difference between a prepubescent child and someone who is months away from technical adulthood. There are countries where age of consent is 16. I find it ludicrous to label someone a pedo when a change of geography would render this whole thing moot, and it's obvious the only reason you're harping on about this is because Matt has an R next to his name.
>>
>>1362688
>There's a difference between a prepubescent child and someone who is months away from technical adulthood
There isn't a difference between people who lack the self control to observe a clear moral and legal red line.

Fuckers willing to argue there isn't a difference between 17 and 18 are willing to do the same shit for 16 and 17, on down to whatever age they really want to fuck. We have red lines for a reason.
>>
>>1362688
>There are countries where age of consent is 16.
Florida isn't one of those places.
>>
>>1362688
Who do pedos always use the "but there are places where it's legal" argument?
>>
>>1362688
There is in that older teens can pass themselves off as young adults at a glance (big issue in college towns), but the reason why we stick them in the kiddie dating pool isn't that they're physically underdeveloped (though that definitely applies as you move towards young teens), but because we've decided that the vast majority them are mentally and emotionally underdeveloped/underprepared to deal with a relationship with an adult who is significantly older than them (usually 2-3+ years older than the teen is the cutoff by law). Basically, they'd be the targets of predators who are much more mentally developed and experienced than they are without consent laws. Now, they can be preyed upon by someone in their age range, but that's significantly less likely and usually less harmful. We tend to dislike power imbalances in relationships in general (why bosses having sex with subordinates is usually a fireable offense), and there is a huge imbalance in teen/adult relationships no matter how you look at it.

Everyone here using the slippery slope argument or talking about how "they'd be the targets of predators" aren't focused on a key point of this entire case:

The bitch lied and said she was 19. Even Greenberg thought she was an adult when he paid her.

Now if you want to make an argument that Gaetz should ID check every woman he fucks, then that's one thing. But cut out the slippery slope predator bullshit implying that Gaetz would fuck a 9 year old if given the chance.
>>
Imagine running damage control for Matt Gaetz like >>1362767. Now imagine doing it for free.
>>
>>1362781
Imagine making the "She was 17 you sick fuck" argument unironically over some bitch who lied about his age. I love how Biden gets to play sexy time in showers and suck on infant toes on camera, and we just let that shit slide. But a Republican gets accused of something and we have to fuck up his whole life.

See this is the double-standard bullshit I expect from the left. Let me whataboutism for a second to make my point: You motherfuckers riot all of 2020, try to storm the white house to kill Trump on May 30th, and even secede from the government at CHAZ - and a handful of people get arrested. But then Jan 6th goes down for one day, no arsons, and the only person shot is an unarmed white woman by the cops - and the FBI drops the fucking hammer on every single person that was there and we never hear the end of it. It's fucking okay for the dems to break the law, but if a Republican does 1/10th of what they do, AW HELL NAH!!!

At the end of the day there's no evidence of Gaetz fucking this chick, so until I see some actual hard evidence - or the FBI comes out and says 'we have a videotape of them fucking' - everyone of you can suck my dick. You all pulled this shit before with Kavanaugh that turned out to be a nothing burger. Now you're doing this shit again with Gaetz - AND with Pete Hegseth! Only the rapist allegations aren't sticking to him as much, so now dems are calling him racist because he has a Catholic tattoo. I don't know how the fuck dems get away with throwing stones in glass houses this much, especially with the Diddy case going on.
>>
>>1362816
They won't be getting away with it for much longer. Trump has promised to clean up the country of the vermin with camps and/or use the military to eliminate them. Already, they're floating plans of taking guard regiments from red states and combining them into an army that Trump can use to erase the cancer we call cities. The days where we have to put up with these leftist cancellers is coming to an end. The messiah shall unleash the angel of vengeance, and it shall purify this nation of corruption and wickedness, and the messiah shall crown himself king and take the faithful into a new golden age.
>>
>>1362817

It's kinda refreshing dealing with conservatives on 4chan. In most places, they'll say

>Trump won't denaturalize your aunt
>Trump never said he'd take revenge/ Trump was just firing his base up.
>Look at what he's doing, not what he says. Man just likes to talk a bit of shit.

whereas on 4chan, they'll admit he said whatever the MSN is harping about, give it the most vicious spin (he's going to build death camps; I hope I get to be one of the guards), then say it's actually very legal and very cool.
