The shadow cabinet has a point person for every cabinet position to challenge their counterpart in the ruling Cabinet.

There was a Shadow cabinet which was steamrollered by a Conservative Party: several years ago, with an 80 seat majority. Then several months ago those Conservatives were steamrollered by what was a 'Shadow' cabinet, but is now a government with a massuve mandate: five times as much as that 80 seat majority. Thus Democrats can do the same: work in the shadows for several years than emerge with a majority. They're infinitely more intelligent than that led by what is basically Ronnie Raygun 2.0 in terms of senility
