the Trump Dance is spreading like a wildfire

Full List of US Athletes Who Have Done the 'Trump Dance'
Since Donald Trump won the election, various U.S. athletes have been adopting the "Trump Dance" to celebrate major plays in their relevant sports.

Trump has been dancing at rallies and other various events for years, which consists of shaking his hips from side to side with his arms in a similar rhythm. In February, Trump's deputy director of communications shared a video of him dancing with cheerleaders and a high school marching band as part of the Super Bowl LVIII celebrations.

In October, the Republican decided to stop taking questions from the audience at a Trump town hall event in Oaks, Pennsylvania, and instead played music for 39 minutes. According to The Washington Post, "some in the crowd began to leave" after Trump said he wouldn't be taking any more questions at the town hall and instead told his team to play a succession of nine songs as he at times danced on stage.

Now several sports stars busted out the move to celebrate big plays and here, Newsweek has rounded them up.

Christian Pulisic
Soccer player Christian Pulisic, who is a star of the United States men's national team, is the latest professional athlete to celebrate on the field by performing the Donald Trump dance. On Monday night, he and some of his teammates moved their arms and hips like the president-elect after Pulisic scored the opening goal in the United States' 4-2 victory over Jamaica.

"Well obviously that's the Trump dance," Pulisic said when asked about the viral moves, per The Athletic. "It was just a dance that everyone's doing. He's the one who created it. I just thought it was funny."

He added: "I saw everyone doing it yesterday in the NFL, I saw Jon Jones do it. We're just having a bit of fun, so I thought it was a pretty fun dance."

Nick Bosa
San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa celebrated a sack, which is when a defensive player tackles the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage before they can throw a pass, with teammates in a game at Tampa Bay on November 10.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, when Bosa was asked what inspired the dance, he said: "I think you know the answer to that question. All the guys wanted me to do it. I wasn't even going to do it, but the boys reminded me. And it was fun."

A clip of Bosa and his teammates dancing like the president-elect was posted to X, where it went viral.

"Bosa and the Niners D just hit the Trump dance after a sack. The NFL can't fine him for that," X user @greg_price11 captioned the video. At the time of writing, it had been viewed 1.9 million times.

This refers to the fact that the star pass rusher was hit with a fine of $11,255 for a violation of the NFL uniform and equipment rules. This stems from him wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat in support of Trump.

Brock Bowers
On Sunday, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers moved his arms and hips like Trump to celebrate a touchdown for Las Vegas in a 34-19 loss at Miami.

"Brock Bowers did the Donald Trump dance after scoring a TD," NFL Insider Ari Meirov posted to his X account @MySportsUpdate. At the time of writing, it had been viewed 10.8 million times.

After the game, Bowers told USA Today: "I've seen everyone do it. I watched the UFC fight [Saturday] night and Jon Jones did it. I like watching UFC so I saw it, and thought it was cool."

Jon Jones

Jon Jones performed the "Trump Dance" to salute his victory over Stipe Miocic at Saturday night's UFC fight in Madison Square Garden in New York City. He then shook hands with the president-elect and handed him his UFC title belt while the crowd chanted, "USA!"

"Jon Jones just won his UFC fight and did the Trump dance," Clay Travis, the founder of OutKick, a sports and political commentary website, posted to X. It had been viewed more than 700,000 times.

Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley did the robotic dance move while celebrating with teammate Nick Westbrook-Ikhine during Tennessee's 23-13 loss to Minnesota.

"Calvin Ridley Scores A Touchdown against the Vikings then Hits The Trump Dance," Christina Aguayo, a National News Anchor for Salem News Channel, wrote on X.

Za'Darius Smith and Malcolm Rodriguez
On Sunday, Detroit Lions defensive end Za'Darius Smith and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez busted the move after a sack in the fourth quarter of Detroit's 52-6 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

An X user posted a clip of the two athletes dancing with the caption: "Malcolm Rodriguez and Za'Darius Smith do the Trump celly after the sack."

Smith, who has played for the Ravens, Packers, and Vikings, was recently traded to the Lions.

It's not just a political movement, it's a social movement. It's authentic. It's real. It's hear felt. It's celebratory and just fun.

I hear democrats are working to produce their own "authentic" equivalent in a Hollywood studio.
