2024 saw the single largest yoy gain im homeless rafe ever since HUD started tracking homeless rates. Homeless increased 18% overall and 39% for families.
It's driven by Bidenomics and biden's open border policies, as illegal immigration was a contributing factor to this 18% gain in homelessness, according to HUD

Migrant crisis added to record-level US homelessness: HUD
by Jeff Arnold and Jorge Ventura - 12/31/24 7:24 AM ET
Hispanics saw a significant jump in homelessness
Chicago is ending its new arrival mission
Migrants moved from shelters to tent communities

The number of immigrants who entered the country illegally and then struggled to find housing in sanctuary cities contributed to a record number of Americans who experienced homelessness in 2024, according to a new report.

Data released by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development shows that more than 770,000 people struggle with finding a place to stay across the country on a single night. The report also indicates that the percentage of Hispanics dealing with homelessness was exponentially higher than the national average due largely to increased migrant populations in cities like New York, Denver and Chicago.

The 18 percent increase in the nation’s unsheltered population was the largest year-over-year jump since HUD began tracking homelessness in 2007, The New York Times reported.

That surge is connected to the number of immigrants and asylum-seekers who were sent to sanctuary cities by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) after they entered the country illegally, HUD data shows. Immigration advocates in New York, Chicago and Denver pushed federal officials to allow migrants to be able to better qualify for housing.

The HUD report also indicated that migration had a notable effect on family homelessness, which increased by 39 percent in the past year
>>
In addition to the migrant crisis, the HUD report cited several reasons for the jump in those experiencing homelessness. Data shows that the end of COVID-19 pandemic-era measures that were designed to protect those in need also contributed to the increase, The New York Times reported.

In Chicago, migrants who arrived in the city from the southern border were forced to live in the lobby of local police precincts due to a lack of space in local migrant shelters. Chicago, New York and Denver also saw many immigrants resort to living in tent communities after they reached time limits for living in city-run shelters.

City and federal officials do not track the immigration status of the unsheltered. However, since President Biden issued an executive order regarding border security over the summer, immigration officials have cited significant drops in illegal border crossings. Officials in sanctuary cities have also said that they have seen the number of buses of immigrants being sent from the border drop.

In response, Chicago city officials announced in the fall that the city will end its new arrivals mission at the end of the year. The city announced a One System Initiative in which its legacy shelter program and shelters for migrants would be combined.

The city announced that its remaining migrant shelters will be shuttered by the end of December. The announcement came before announcing that city and census data suggest that an estimated 76,375 residents were experiencing homelessness in 2022.

Cites like New York, Chicago and San Diego began closing tent communities in the fall. New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) said that he did not want to appear heavy-handed or insensitive to those who had been living in tents. However, he said that tent encampments are illegal and that the sweeps of tent communities were being made to improve the lives of all New York City residents.

Happy new year, faggots. Only 20 days left until biden's failed term is just a footnote in the history books

Hiring foreigners to do low-to-medium skill level work will greatly benefit the US economy. Tariffs will greatly benefit the US economy. Study it out!

>low-to-medium skill level
You have no idea what an h1b visa is. Or you are just lying.
Faggot
>>
>>1371823
I gotta say, you people are some of the most disingenuous ass spelunkers in existence.
Giving out temporary work visas for highly skilled labor to fill needed labor positions has always been a net benefit for American society, and the vast majority of Americans acknowledge that fact.

Centrists, right wing, and far right are why trump was elected. And centrist and right wingers generally support skilled visa workers, and trump is taking the common sense approach of supporting it as well.

And here you faggots come along and criticize him for doing what is common sense and what you yourself would agree with, because you think it somehow "owns the chuds"

Fuck off fagface.

What a stupid domain. It could read days.to/jan/20 by using a recursive subdomain and a simple js but whoever manages this website is a retard. It would also lighten the load by only using 12 folders instead of a whole folder for 365 files. I bet a drumpftard wrote it.

My rent free tenant, Mr Tomas Doody, BTW, who also lives rent free in my head, told me he voted for tRump, since Mr Doody do like tRump's rapin' style. I voted for Biden, to balance out any voting illegalities .

>It's driven by Bidenomics
I keep hearing dipshits parrot their docile media streams screaming 'bidenomics'.
Point to the precise policies that have resulted in this outcome.

>That surge is connected to the number of immigrants and asylum-seekers who were sent to sanctuary cities by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R)
Seems to self-explain a cause? Not entirely ofc, but it's a significant contributor. After spending a few months piling up your trash on your neighbours lawn complaining of the stink it makes doesn't make you look clever.

>owever, since President Biden issued an executive order regarding border security over the summer, immigration officials have cited significant drops in illegal border crossings
And the article doesn't even support your general stance. In fact, it precisely contradicts it.

> 76,375 residents were experiencing homelessness in 2022.
Useless metric. Doesn't tell you anything about *now*. We're in 2025 now. A lot can happen in 3 years. I doubt it's total has gone down, but what I do expect is the distribution of demographics has shifted. Stats from 2020»2024 might be 'useful' for building a picture of the change over time - in relation to "biden's leadership". I strongly suspect there's a reason these have not been used.

>It could read days.to/jan/20 by using a recursive subdomain and a simple js but whoever manages this website is a retard
I think you are the retard and pregnant a boomer because you're using words that you obviously don't understand what they mean, what your referring to as the the fictitious term "recursive subdomain" is called a resource path. And JavaScript has absolutely nothing to do with anything you are describing
>>
>>1371844
>And the article doesn't even support your general stance. In fact, it precisely contradicts it.
So after 4 years of record breaking illegal immigration, Biden does something in the past couple months that drops it to a level that is still record breaking for any term except his own.

Nothing contradicts what op said. It may have dropped but if it were anyone else's term it would still be record breaking.

Bro he has the highest levels of illegal immigration by far, every year he smashed previous records.
Even if he managed to cut it in half his final year, the damage is still done, those people are still here contributing to the homelessness crisis

The fact is, HUD is reporting huge spikes in homelessness.
Bidenomics failed.
>>
>>1371872
Gee it's almost like something happened to make a lot of people homeless before Biden took office.
>>
>>1371882
Gee is that thing still happening now? Are there still widespread democrat lockdowns happening?
>>
>>1371882
To be fair, the democrat lockdowns only ended as quickly as they did because trumps operation warp speed was so successful in getting out a vaccine
>>
>>1371867
>It may have dropped but if it were anyone else's term it would still be record breaking.
Really? 'cause the angle of the line on the graph is kinda similar to the historical one. Might even be steeper 1980's » 2006ish.

>>1371868
And what precisely is it I'm supposed to be 'coping' with? I advise to consider carefully before response.

>>1371870
>highest levels of illegal immigration by far, every year he smashed previous records.
Even acocunting for not cherry picking data and narrowing 'records' to a small timeframe post 2010?

>those people are still here contributing to the homelessness crisis
Undeniable. But is that a more contributory factor than intentional manipulation of the supply side of the supply/demand graph to control the price? What about external market forces - like landlords opting for $500/night from air bnb over $500/month from a resident?

>>1371886

Evidence suggests otherwise.
