With competition killed, CVS/Walgreens downsize/lower the quality of their services to make more profit. This enshittification is why you might have a store with only one cashier or pharmacist handling absolutely everything even as profit doubles, or why pharmacy deserts are now a thing (local pharmacy closes down because of above, CVS/Walgreens do not move in because it wouldn't be profitable enough).
