The Los Angeles area was described as “like Hiroshima after the atomic bomb was dropped” by an anchor on Fox Television in the U.S. and other media.

Another man interviewed by another media outlet said, "It looks like Hiroshima-level devastation for miles around.

Although it is still under investigation whether the wildfire was a natural disaster or man-made, it is possible that critics may draw comparisons to Japan, which became the world's only country to suffer atomic bombings as a result of the U.S. atomic bombings during World War II.

On the other hand, the Los Angeles County Sheriff, in explaining the death toll projection at a press conference on March 9, said, "When you look at the devastation, it clearly looks like an atomic bomb was dropped on these areas. So I don't think it's going to be good news as far as the death toll is concerned," he said.

This news has the Japanese distrusting the Americans.

They hit a legitmate military target. Your response? Nuke two civillian targets. Then blame the civillians. Sure, it assisted in rapidly concluding hostilities - but it advertised you as the cunt you are.

It ended the entire war, retard. What you retarded liberals don't understand is that sometimes you have to actually devaste your enemies to make them stop

No. Just .jp.
Retard.

Hitler supposedly shot himself in april. Seven days later Germany surrendered and WWII was over. Clearly because you'd bombed japan a few months later.

Japan hittin' you was a completely seperate action. They looked about, thought let's hit the big dog.

It's not the act of nuking them I'm looking down my nose at you for, but the targetting of civillians.
>>
>>1374456
truman decided to ok nuking cities because the japanese refused to accept unconditional surrender and it was projected that 1,000,000 american casualties would pile up from invading mainland japan. so it was fucked up but there was math behind it. also if the war kept dragging on russia would end up in possession of manchuria and potentially even more of china.

and btw the myth of hitler escaping to argentina was spread by the soviets
>>
>>1374458
I say 'supposedly' 'cause I didn't see the body. In fact, some extraordinary measures was taken that render forensics impossible. I don't like to take things on face value - especially from people with such a long history of being full of shit. I like evidence.
>>
>>1374456
Germany was about to get bombed too. The Japanese nukes were what told all the monkeys to shut the fuck up and sit down
>>
>>1374459
hitler was surrounded on all sides, his chance of escaping is just about 0%. the whole point of the conspiracy was to make it look like the non-russian allies made a secret deal with hitler, because to communists, fascists and democratic capitalists went hand in hand
>>
>>1374462
Really? 'cause I hear you was quite lucky they surrendered when they did 'cause the materials to make more had a considerable lead time.

>>1374464

I don't really care much for that. I just find the treatment of the body remarkably suspect. It's the sort of thing someone does to eliminate evidence. Expecially with the level of overkill applied.
>>
>>1374466
>Expecially with the level of overkill applied.
well if you couldn't tell, hitler loved overkill
>>
>>1374466
Gee, it's almost like that Hitler guy wasn't very popular.
>>
>>1374469
Even more reason to eliminate any question of events by leaving evidence.
Because without conclusive proof, especially regarding someone so prolific, rumours *will* happen.
Considering the number of body parts taken as trophies - in this and pretty much every other conflict going - it's rather surprising no-one wanted the head. That seems like a high value trophy to me.

On an unrelated note, it just me or the captcha's real easy today? Most have been but 3 characters... sometimes 4.

>They hit a legitmate military target. Your response? Nuke two civillian targets
I also disagree with the practice of terror bombing WW2 but I don't get people who want to draw a direct line between Pearl Harbor and the nukes. That's just so reductionist.
Besides, the only reason Japan didn't Bomb US Civilians was because they were out of range
>>
>>1374472
Yes because I'm sure the first concern of the men in Hitler's own bunker when they found out their own leader shot himself was "Oh man we better preserve this".

They doused him in gas and burned him because they knew the soviets would parade it around. We got a bit of his jawbone leftover and that's it.
>>
>>1374481
>people who want to draw a direct line between Pearl Harbor and the nukes. That's just so reductionist.
So... You trying to tell me that without pearl harbour, you'd o nuked 'em anyway? you had a new toy, and an excuse to play with it...

>the only reason Japan didn't Bomb US Civilians was because they were out of range
Not because it made less sense than military targets? When they hit pearl harbour, they was genuinely surprised how quickly you mobilised after, they was expecting it to cripple your pacific operations.

I've no doubt civillian brutality would of been on the cards sooner or later - they wasn't known for being great on that subject - but to do that as the first move is a bit tactically dense. Which they wasn't.
>>
>>1374488
>you
My country was on the loser side of WW2, so we wouldn't have nuked anybody.
But to answer your question, yes without Pearl Harbor they would have gotten nuked anyway, because Pearl Harbor wasn't the only thing that started the war. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was just part of said war, not some direct retaliation for Pearl Harbor and Pearl Harbor only.
If you want a direct retaliation for Pearl, look at the Doolittle Raid, which was targeted at military installation.
>Not because it made less sense than military targets?
Look up Operation Cherry Blossoms at Night, they planned to Bomb the US mainland with biological weapons in hopes to spread disease. And it's not like they were shy about committing war crimes in places they did have access to like China and the Philippines.
>to do that as the first move
What? Strategic bombing of Japan didn't begin in any significant capacity until mid 1944. So I'm not sure why you're implying that it was the "fist move" for the US

Also the nukes being singled out like this just because they're more "spectacular" is also kinda stupid if you think about it. The firebombing of Tokyo prior had a much higher death toll for instance.

>Pearl Harbor wasn't the only thing that started the war.
No, but it's what brought .jp into sights. Until that, USA wasn't really interested in the war. They certainly wasn't at conflict with .jp. Wasn't good relations, but it wasn't war.

>not some direct retaliation for Pearl Harbor and Pearl Harbor only.
It was a retaliation. But it's not the only reason. Just ⅞ths.

>implying that it was the "fist move" for the US
No, first move for .jp » civillian targets.
No tactical sense. You want to hit some military first, or expect serious blowback.

>just because they're more "spectacular" is also kinda stupid
It's not so much 'spectacular' (for me at least) as much as the scale of devestation. Directed at civillians.

How about proof that nuclear arms deployment against civilians isn't directly related to the previous attack on a military target.

England.
I sense this isn't your first language. It makes perfect sense. Just like every other input I make.

>Again, in that regard the firebombing of Tokyo was much worse
The direct casualty count was higher - largely due to population density. But the two nuclear examples didn't stop the damage when the fire went out. It continued for decades.

This disaster happened because Newsom did a poor job at managing state resources and LA hired an incompetent fire chief.
Palisades is burning right now because none of the fire hydrants had water pressure. This is an objective fact.
>>
>>1374567
>Palisades is burning right now because none of the fire hydrants had water pressure. This is an objective fact.
Wrong. We literally have testimony from the firefighters, on the ground, talking to resident keyboard firefighter in-chief Elon Musk telling him the actual issue was the scale of the fires outpacing anything they could physically muster. No amount of management can make up for the issue of not having enough water to fight this much fire because there's no way to physically store enough. There's just not enough room for that much water in a residential district.

The real mistake was settling in an area with the flammability of a tinderbox in the first place. You could clear cut the whole forest and drain every bit of water from the rivers; it doesn't change the natural conditions.
>>
>>1374559
>The people being blamed in California, newsome and bass,

Meanwhile, Abbott was the retard who refused to winterize their power grid. And every time his policies fuck up, he throws a whole tantrum about the current heads of their fuckass private grid, pledges to investigate, doesn't do shit to fix the actual problems, and then repeats it a few years later.

I'd feel bad for Texans if they didn't keep electing him.
>>
>>1374569
>No amount of management can make up for the issue of not having enough water to fight this much fire because there's no way to physically store enough.
The palisades fire exploded in size because they didn't have enough water for containment after the onset.

California has the single largest water management system in the United States. The reservoirs were empty and they destroyed the dams because California wanted to cut costs.
>>
>>1374538
I reiterate more coherently:ALL politicians are sociopaths...ALL. Politics attract sociopaths like flies to shit. It's all about the POWER ego tripping. It was the politicians not the military that decided to burn 200k Japanese babies with the A-bombs used on Japan in 1945.
The capitalist politicians didn't want to send American soldiers into an already defeated Japan in 1945, because they believed Japanese soldiers & civiliians would put up fierce resistance, and a lot of young men would die. These politicians didnt care about the young men dying, but these young American troops dying would look bad and they would lose votes. Stalin didn't need to worry about this, and the US politicians were so afraid of communism and Russia invading Japan first, that they burned the innocent little babies. All Politicians, especially capitalist ones are truly evil. Even Bernie Sanders is a sociopath, just not as far up the scale of sociopathy as many other politicians.
>>
>>1374572
Retard the reservoir was empty because there was a tear in it that contaminated the water, because in case you forgot the usual use for reservoirs is to store drinking water.

The dams that were decommissioned, meanwhile, were done to help their salmon industries, and wouldn't be used for firefighting anyways.
>>
>>1374572

You're falling for actual russian propaganda.
>>
>>1374576
>the usual use for reservoirs is to store drinking water
Reservoirs of water are contaminated because they are exposed to the surface. You factually cannot drink out of any body of water, like a river or a lake, because they are filled with parasites and fecal matter from various animals. That's why they need to be treated first.

The only clean, drinkable, untreated sources of water are 200+ ft below the surface. That's literally why they drill wells.
>>
>>1374577
>russian propaganda
This is what democrats call literally everything that doesn't fall within the established narrative.
Russians breathe air. Why are you breathing air? You're not a propagandist, are you?

They're lying to you, retard. People fish out of reservoirs. They never safe to drink out of.
>>
>>1374585
>They never safe to drink out of.
Literally the entire point of a reservoir is to store water for people to use later. This includes drinking it, you absolute brainlet.

Most active reservoirs actually forbid people from swimming in them for this exact reason.
>>
>>1374586
>Literally the entire point of a reservoir is to store water for people to use later.
Right. And they were empty. Meaning they couldn't use them to fight fires.

Jesus fuck, you people are stupid.
>>
>>1374592
Yes, and they were empty because the supply got contaminated and they had to drain it. You know, what you have to do when a water supply becomes unsafe to use.

And if your logic is "Well, they should've kept it around for a fire!", that's retarded, because then they're wasting space with contaminated water they can't use for anything other than firefighting.
>>
>>1374593
>Yes, and they were empty because the supply got contaminated and they had to drain it.
Oh my fucking god.
RESERVOIRS of water are ALWAYS UNSAFE TO DRINK. They are ALWAYS CONTAMINATED.
The state TREATS THE WATER for human consumption. That's what goes into your FUCKING PIPES.
>>
>>1374594
Apparently California is managed so stupidly they spray food safe drinking water on their fires to extinguish them rather than keeping a reservoir of non-potable water.
>>
>>1374594
>But they treat the water!
RETARD THE PROCESS TO TREAT NORMAL RESERVOIR WATER IS DIFFERENT FROM IF IT'S CONTAMINATED.

How is this so hard to understand? Like, let's say you've got a pool in your backyard. Your pool has a filter that'll get the little bits of leaves and other natural debris out of your pool without you needing to manually scoop most of it out. Then I come over, and I take several massive shits in your pool. Your system is not designed to filter that much out, so now you have to drain the pool.

That's the same fucking principle; filtration and purification systems of any kind are designed for specific things that are taken into account while building them. If something that isn't part of that leaks in, then the system can't purify it because it wasn't designed to.
>>
>>1374595
>Keeps the contaminated water
>People start using more water for whatever reason
>They start running out of water
>"But how are we running out of water? There's a full reservoir right there!"
>"Uh, sorry, but we keep that water around for firefighting. It's unsafe to drink you see."
>"Well right now we need drinking water, so could you start converting it?"
>"Well, first we have to drain it. And that'll take a few months to drain it, fix the issue that got it contaminated, then refill it..."
>"So we're stuck with no drinking water for a few months. Fuck you."

I know it might be hard to believe, but California actually does spend a decent chunk of each year not being actively on fire. They also spend most of that time still needing more water.
>>
>>1374596
>Then I come over, and I take several massive shits in your pool.
I hate you faggots so much.
Feces is what leads to total coliform contamination. E-coli.
That's what filtration plants filter out, you fucking retard.
Stop making excuses for state leadership that clearly want you dead.
>>
>>1374598
Hey anon if you look overhead you'll see the point flying past you.
>>
>>1374595
The state uses potable water to douse fires. That's basically what comes out of fire hydrants.
The problem is that they don't keep enough water in reservoirs, which means they don't have enough water to treat, which then is later transported to fire hydrants.
The entire purpose of a reservoir is to create a basin for manufacturing potable water, but FUCKING RETARDS couldn't be bothered.
>>
>>1374600
Nigger, the principle is the same.
I could filter river water using nothing but a gravity-fed filtration unit, which is literally just a steel tank filled with three different layers of silt. If I wanted to be especially safe, I could add eight drops of bleach per gallon to purify the entire thing.
>b-but blockages..
THE FILTRATION PLANTS TAKE IT OUT
THEY HAVE PIPES AS WIDE AS YOU ARE TALL
>>
>>1374602
Anon, shockingly, industrial scale water purification is not the same fucking process as doing it on a personal level. Hell, even in your own example, if that river has say, an oil spill or industrial waste in it, no amount of handmade filtration units are gonna make that shit safe to drink.

There's a reason why most wilderness guides tell you to find CLEAN water and THEN purify it.
>>
>>1374597
I think you may be too stupid to understand this, but non-potable water can be processed to become potable water, just like they did before they drained the reservoir of potable water.
Their mistake is not having additional reservoirs of low-cost non-potable water on hand, so now when they drain a reservoir full of potable water to ensure it stays potable, they just ended up royally fucking themselves deep within their own asses

See this is a more legitimate criticism, but at the same time it's kinda hard to justify keeping water that you're not going to process in a state that regularly has to issue boil water notices because they're running out of potable water.
>>
>>1374608
Boil water notices are when the city has contaminated water. They don't issue boil water notices when they run out of water... Unless I guess it gets real bad and the advisory is "go find a stream or creek and take water home and boil it, because we just ran out"
>>
>>1374617
Well that and conserve water notices. Though boil water still applies for contaminations... like say, the one they drained that reservoir for.
>>
>>1374619
Why do you need to boil water for a conserve water notice? That makes no sense unless if it's actually a contaminated water notice.
