And he's not even president yet. Officials describing him as doing more for peace in the middle east in 1 day than Biden was able to accomplish over an entire year
Netanyahu describes it as "trump leaving him no choice"

Trump’s Mideast Envoy Forced Netanyahu to Accept a Gaza Plan He Repeatedly Rejected

Trump's Mideast Envoy Forced Netanyahu to Accept a Gaza Plan He Repeatedly Rejected By Chaim Levinson | 13 Jan 2025 | Israeli sources say that the involvement of the incoming U.S. administration, led by President-elect Trump's aggressive Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, revived hostage talks with Hamas. While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's propaganda machine claims that Trump has left him no choice, what happens inside his coalition will determine whether the prime minister approves the deal

According to a Saturday, January 11 press release, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “held a discussion to assess the situation regarding the hostages and the missing with the defense minister, the heads of the security establishment, and with the American negotiators of both the incoming and outgoing administrations. At the conclusion of the discussion, the Prime Minister directed the Mossad Director, the Shin Bet Director, Maj.-Gen. (Res) Nitzan Alon, and his Foreign Policy Adviser, Dr. Ophir Falk, to depart for Doha in order to continue advancing a deal to release our hostages.”

The incoming administration was represented by President-elect was Steve Witkoff, who had just been appointed special envoy to the Middle East.

Two Arab officials told The Times of Israel that during the meeting, Witkoff pressed Netanyahu to agree to critical compromises needed for a deal. According to the officials, Trump’s envoy achieved more in one discussion to influence the prime minister than outgoing President Joe Biden had managed throughout the year.

Hostage deals reward terrorist organisations; they incentivise seizing more hostages to gain leverage.
Nicolas Maduro's regime in Venezuela takes advantage of this (see: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/venezuelan-regime-hunts-for-foreign-hostages-to-pressure-its-rivals/ar-AA1wZEXW).
This is not a show of strength from Trump, it is weakness.

Agreed, just face reality, Hyram. Genocidal Zionists should never be treated as humans. Israel is a failed nation. It's dead, but like a head cut off from It's body, don't know it yet. The few humans left in Israel know they must accept majority Palestinian rule, or have their little piece of earth decimated by genetically altered pathogens. This WILL happen, if Zionist scum like Genocide Joe are allowed to continue their toxic influence.

Yeah I'm sure he magically came in and got a deal in 24 hours for a conflict that's been going for a year straight.

What's more likely is he was collaborating with Netanyahu to delay any kind of deal until after the election so he could take credit, when in reality he extended the time before a hostage exchange. Just like Reagan with the Iran hostages. And in exchange, Israel gets even more kickbacks from us.

people don't like liars. why are you so bent out of shape over being called out as one
>>
>>1374802

>>
>>1374801
Because 1. That's causing the hostages to spend a few more months in hamas custody for political points, and 2. if the only reason it went through was to get kickbacks from us, the ceasefire probably isn't going to last for very long.

Oh and 3. it gets Trump elected on false pretenses because the actual deal was made by Biden and Trump just delayed it for a few months. Again, the same thing Reagan and Nixon did.
>>
>>1374800
Yeah anon because it makes so much more sense that Trump heroically swooped in and solved an issue we've been actively negotiating for the last year and a half in 24 hours. Obviously Biden negotiating with them for, you know, a year and a half meant nothing.
>>
>>1374804
1. If Trump wanted more political points for rescuing the hostages, he would have held off until after he was sworn into office and Biden was out so that Biden couldn’t pretend like he deserved all the credit his farewell address.
2. Maybe I don’t know. But both sides of this conflict have to be offered something in order for them to agree to stop fighting. How else is a ceasefire supposed to be negotiated?
3. The top issue for voters of this election was the economy. I don’t even think Palestine was important enough to Americans to make it on the list, and you think it helped him get elected? And I’m not familiar with this Reagan and Nixon story you keep bringing up. Got any sources to back up your version of history?
>>
>>1374806

True, but it was still a pretty close thing. While there weren't that many people who swung their votes over Gaza, it did drive down enthusiasm, especially in the activists (online and IRL) who'd typically be out spreading the message. Less energy = less turnout. The handling of Gaza was probably one of the most retarded things Biden did, only outdone by running when Trump was projected by internal polls to beat him by 538/138 electorally. Well, elections won't matter anymore. I think all the Dem politicians will be rotting in camps by the end of this year.
>>
>>1374805
It does actually. Biden is a demented old man who can’t think straight half the time. It’s an insult and outright disrespectful to the Palestinians and the Israelis that this was the man trying to broker peace between them. And it’s no wonder why his efforts produced nothing.
>>
>>1374807
>Well, elections won't matter anymore. I think all the Dem politicians will be rotting in camps by the end of this year.
And thank god for that. The day that I can stop paying attention to politics can't come soon enough. Tucker was doing interviews of Russian people a while back about politics, and all of them were like IDGAF stop asking me. That the Russian people have that much trust in their government, where they have the privilege not to give a fuck is envious. That they can all come together as one behind one party and don't have to concern themselves with a wrong choice is phenomenal. I wish the US was the same way.
>>
>>1374737
What makes you think trump's golfing buddy talked to hamas?

Article specifically mentions jews. Which is infinitely more believable when you consdier execution/hostage risks.
It doesn't matter if one side is prepared to negociate with regards to swapping hostages. You need both sides to agree not to fight to actually stop the war. In this case you've both sides that wants to genocide the other. Both with a long history of scores to settle, and one with some recent ones... I know you likely don't consider either side human, but I assure you they are, and I encourage you to consider, should there be a country over that's just bombed your parents, children, or friends, how eager would you be to stop fighting?

>I'm definitely not going to sit around for another 4 years while he just continues shitting on my dick
That's exaclty what you're going to do - in fact, you'll go one better and pay him for the privlidge by the way of taxes.

>Fuck you all I hope god sends in more hurricanes earthquake wildfire and floods.
I wouldn't put much faith in your invisible skyperson to achieve anything. But you can take solice in the fact they'll do worse to themselves if left to their own devices.
>>
>>1374801
>Why are you so bent out of shape about this?
It's not ending the war.
Israel wants greater Israel, which means taking Syria and Egypt. They've been trying to do this shit for sixty years. Which means they will probably try again in the coming decades. Trump is merely taking credit for Israel deciding to settle on turning Gaza into a rubble pit and bombing Damascus.

You need to start asking yourself why Israel, after the most pro-Israel president won the election, has decided to end the war prematurely. Both Republicans and Democrats support Israel 110%. The only major difference is that 50% of dems constituency believe Israel is committing genocide.
Israel has only managed to exist as a state, despite all its terrorist shenanigans, because it has the unwavering support of the US congress. Nothing has changed on that front. They will simply wait a few decades until people forget before waging more war.
>>
>>1374811
>It’s not ending the war.
Who cares. Israel wants to genocide Palestinians for greater Israel, and Hamas wants to genocide the Jews because the hadith tells them to. So it’s never going to end. At least not the way you want it to. It’s stupid to think that possible. The best anyone can hope for is temporary reprieve and to avoid getting pissed on next time they get into another pissing contest.

>Behind the scenes: The final sprint in the negotiations took place at a Qatari government official residence. Hamas representatives were on the first floor with the Israelis on the second and the Qatari and Egyptian mediators shuttling between them.

> Negotiations dragged on until 3am each night and resumed in the morning after a few hours of sleep, a U.S. official said.
> Issue after issue was closed: The redeployment of Israeli forces; what Hamas must do during the ceasefire; the delivery of humanitarian aid; the sequencing of hostage and prisoner releases.
> On Wednesday morning, Hamas raised three new demands, according to a U.S. official. "We had to flex a muscle to get them to back off, and we did," the official said.

>That afternoon local time, Hamas came back for a meeting with the Qatari and Egyptian mediators and gave its official positive response. "Only then we were sure we have a deal," the U.S. official said.

> The Qatari prime minister made the announcement: "We saw two U.S. administrations working together... what the U.S. did led to this moment."
> Next, Netanyahu called Trump and thanked him for his help in getting the deal. Only then did he call to thank Biden.

The al-quaeda guy they claimed to be targeting wasn’t even there and he’s still wanted with a bounty on his head to this day. So either intelligence is retarded, or the kid was the target the whole time.
>>
>>1374856
>hm, yeah. Let's drone strike this one 16 year old. This is a completely valid use of resources.

Just because the dude might've survived doesn't mean he wasn't there lol. We're still not sure if he's dead or not.
>>
>>1374835
>Now what do you propose we do about it?
Remove politicians with duel-citizenship from congress.
Remove ourselves from the middle-east.
Let the jews and the arabs fight amongst themselves.
This gay false dichotomy of "you're either with us or against us" only exists in the minds of faggots who have a financial stake in the region. Sacrificing our kids to fight gay wars in the ME, which then comes back to bite us in the ass at home, is in none of our interest.
The entire reason why arabs are flooding the western world is because Israel can't stop fucking with regional politics with the help of the USA.

Do Republicans not know that if this was true, Trump would be in violation of the Logan Act?
>>
>>1374875
He's been violating that law like he's keeping it as a sex slave. He'll never face consequences.

Everyone making this headline news and acting like it's a revolution when 1)i couldn't give a fuck about some shit thousands of miles away from me and doesn't affect me, and 2) these mlinferior people have been fighting for 60 years.

Celebrating this cease fire is like celebrating the 80th time your house has stopped burning while never realising there is a leaky gas valve in the basement causing this every time.
>>
>>1374878
it's just republicans getting ready to claim victory for isolationist and appeasement policies that will spur the next global war
>>
>>1374875
That’s retarded. How is this a violation of the Logan Act? Trump is the president elect and will be president in a few more days.
>>
>>1374880
The president-elect does not have the powers of the presidency until he is sworn in. It's also very likely that Trump was in communication with Netanyahu before he became president-elect.
>>
>>1374881
but when you control the majority of the media and have a team of billionaires feeding you carrots it doesn't really matter

stfu retard
>>
>>1374885
He clearly did more than talk considering he apparently brokered an entire peace deal.
>>
>>1374881
Laws are interpreted by judges, and any judge would see your interpretation of the Logan Act as stupid. The purpose of the Logan Act is to bar some literally-who legislator from negotiating deals with foreign government without the executive branch’s approval. Trump is going to be the head of the executive branch, so he’s the one solely responsible for negotiating with foreign governments. Even if he’s president-elect that doesn’t matter. He has the presidency, it’s been certified by your cuck-queen kamala harris, everything else is just a formality.

So many lefties having melties it's like grilled cheese in here

The president-elect does not have the authority of the United States until he becomes president. Otherwise, Trump could issue his tariffs or pardons as soon as he became president-elect back in November. Why wait until January?
>>
>>1374889
Lmao what sort of weird cope is this? At least on this board you people have been nonstop sources of misinformation and lies.
Idk what the strawmen are like in your head tho, maybe it's a bit different up there
>>
>>1374891
well enjoy being retarded i guess
>>
>>1374890
Anon, I don't think anyone interprets "without authority of the United States" to apply to the president elect except you and the other short term memory outrage peons.

US presidents regularly talk with world leaders before they are actually sworn in to communicate with them, and just like this you can argue that these communications influence foreign officials. That's the whole reason people have them is to communicate things like policy intentions so that the other governments can plan accordingly.
>>
>>1374892
I understand Trump's success angers you but you really should try to be more objective
>>
>>1374895
he's successful at getting rhetorical head from you, i admit that
>>
>>1374890
You’re autistic insistence that the letter of the law must be followed in this obvious grey area is stupid. You can try to prosecute Trump for it, but won’t get anywhere because any judge would just ignore your autistic-ass. Why do you want to punish Donald Trump over this anyway? He did a good thing, did he not? Shows what kind of person you are if you wanna punish a man for doing good. Evil I’d say.
>>
>>1374899
letting israel expand is good to pol now?

Telling foreign governments of your policy plans is not the same as trying to influence them or writing up entire peace deals.

>>1374899
>Why do you want to punish Donald Trump over this anyway? He did a good thing, did he not
Because I don't think he did it. It was the Biden admin who got most of it done, seeing as how it's almost identical to the peace deal made earlier in the year.
>>
>>1374902
Oh man you're homoerotic and schizophrenic.
>>
>>1374900
This is /news/ sir not /pol/. And I would say negotiating a ceasefire and stoping the killing for a time being is good thing, and I don’t see how that has anything to do with isreal expanding.
>>
>>1374903
>Telling foreign governments of your policy plans is not the same as trying to influence them or writing up entire peace deals
I'm fairly certain Trump has plainly stated that, "there will be hell to pay" if there is not peace by the time he is sworn in.

You don't actually know what went on here, you were just trying to find something to be angry about because apparently the prospect of having Trump in office is motivating peace a lot quicker than another term of Biden or Harris would have played out
>>
>>1374904
sure, i guess, whatever stops your insatiable obsequience for your orange god. you ever listen to yourself?
>>
>>1374905
It doesn't matter I'm extremely angry that Trump stole Biden's thunder and was able to make progress here when Biden couldn't, Trump had no legal authority to do this and it's extremely angering that he not only broke the law but worst of all he made Biden look bad
>>
>>1374908
that's all trump has done for the past 70 years desu
>>
>>1374905
you're right, /news/ is the smaller of the right wing schizo boards. and that last sentence of yours is laughable. were you all just bots the entire time then?
>>
>>1374906
I'm not really angry about it. I just find funny that Trump is bragging about something that would technically be illegal. I don't think he should be prosecuted for it either.

>motivating peace a lot quicker than another term of Biden or Harris would have played out
We don't really know what would have happened for certain. But considering Trump is willing to use military force to achieve his objectives in other countries, we're just trading a far-away war for a closer one.

>>1374908
There's no need to falseflag here.

>>1374910
Would a bot be able to say the word nigger-faggot? I don’t think so.

Hey, faggot, he was negotiating peace between Israel and Hamas.
America isn't it war and this is not their conflict in case you are just completely mentally handicapped.

Any US citizen can go to any country they want in the world and talk to their leaders about conflicts that country is having with another country.

This is not America's conflict, this is between Israel and Hamas and you are now utterly ass-blasted with facts.
>>
>>1374913
>lots of mention of ass and faggots
yep, we got a russian boys
>>
>>1374913
The US is an ally of Israel and is sending them weapons. Clearly they are involved in the conflict, hence why the Biden admin was managing the peace deal in the first place.
