The Labor Departments benchmark revisions to full-year 2025 data revealed that a labor market already viewed as soft actually performed worse than initially thought.

Revisions brought the total number of jobs added last year down by more than 403,000, to only 181,000 for the year – an exceptionally weak year by almost any standard. There are now real doubts about how long the broader economy can continue to power forward with the job market.

This is far fewer than the 1.46 million jobs that were added in 2024.

Wednesday’s reports further complicate the task for President Donald Trump and Republicans as they attempt to craft an economic narrative going into the 2026 midterm elections. Polls show that the president’s approval rating on the economy has declined, while consumer sentiment has been poor, particularly around the jobs market.

>to only 181,000 for the year
This is literally how much Biden averaged in a month.
>>
>>1488212
Oh and compared to 2024 thats a DECREASE of about 1,279,000 jobs.

(1,460,000-181,000 = -1,279,000)

I thought Trump was going to CREATE more jobs, not drastically decrease them???
>>
>>1488212
I assume the actual numbers are much worse given trump fired the original people for truthfully reporting the numbers
>>
Surely more tariffs and handouts to Argentina and Israel will fix this

>>1487864
I didn't mean literally but I guess you have to do something during a slow news cycle.
>>
>>1488223
Yeah those January 2026 job numbers will be revised down to 25,000 in a couple months. You'll see.
>>
If there was ever a point where he cared, or was at least willing to pretend to care, about creating jobs for Americans, it ended when he started listening to tech executives and hit the point of no return when he let DOGE fire all those government employees. Between all the former feds flooding the private sector job market and AI systems designed specifically to take jobs from people, it's incredible that things aren't even worse than they already are.
>>
>>1488274
Why do they even put out projected numbers? Why not just wait for the revised, i.e. accurate numbers?
>>
The added jobs were all paid migatard shills on 4chan and xitter

We're are in a mild recession right now, no amount of bullshit stats can gloss over Americans seeing their costs continuing to rise, their wages stagnating, and more and more businesses going under every day.

>We're are in a mild recession right now, no amount of bullshit stats can gloss over Americans seeing their costs continuing to rise, their wages stagnating, and more and more businesses going under every day.

2025 saw a record in business bankruptcies. We're deep into a recession that the billionaires are insulated from.

>Revisions brought the total number of jobs added last year down by more than 403,000, to only 181,000 for the year
no shit, this is a good thing
>fewer people due to secure border + deportations
>lower total job growth but per capita jobs are probably not much different
leftists still don't understand per capita
>>
>>1488392
because leftists are dumb
people want jobs, and Trump is making sure people have more jobs per capita
suck it up libs, Trump is going to keep making more jobs per capita and you can't stop him
>>
>>1488392
>>1488393
Retard there's no jobs.
>>
>>1488392
>lower total job growth but per capita jobs are probably not much different
I cannot tell trolls acting retarded from actual Trump humpers at this point
>>
>>1488395
Hes a shill, being oblivious to facts is all he understands.
>>
>>1488393
No he isn't
>>
>>1488395
>181,000 more jobs get created
>there's no jobs
>>
>>1488414
Yeah, and that ain't shit.
>>
>>1488418
you're just not seeing the gains because you live in a sanctuary city
since ICE (Thank You President Donald J Trump!) came through and got rid of all the illegals, all those jobs were reclaimed for real americans
some of my friends have 2 or even 3 jobs because jobs are so plentiful
>>
>>1488414
Biden added more in a month.
>>
>>1488421
1) There's still growth, contrary to the claim that "there's no jobs", and
2) Doesn't really count when you're allowing people to go back to work they were already doing before COVID.
