What are this board's thoughts on 125cc motorcycles?
>>
>>27583383
is this a competition for being the biggest larper?
because i don't see how anyone is gonna be able to one up this
>>
Fun. I love my 150 gy6. I've had more fun tearing up back streets with it than I have on bigger motorcycles.

Its closer to being a bicycle than a real motorbike
>>
they are for Europoors who can't pass the A2 exam. A 300cc bikes does the same as a 125cc but isn't a danger to everyone around them

They are fun in their own way while having dirt cheap MPG. Also surprisingly agile.
My first bike was a Honda Wave derivative

pointless in most of america.
I'd genuinely rather a Sur-ron or some other throttle only bike. Something that I can throw on a pedal bike rack and go somewhere.
>>
>>27583383
The amount of fun you have on a motorcycle is a function of how fast you ride relative to the bike's top speed. The most fun speed to ride a motorcycle is fast enough that you can use all the gears, as well as the whole tachometer, with I would say 90% of your riding using about 70% of the bike's power. It actually has very little to do with your absolute speed, although this fact is not apparent to people who have not ridden a wide range of bikes in a wide range of environments. A 125cc bike is more fun in a town than a literbike is in a town because you're using the machine at the speed it's designed to go.
>>
With a Super Cub you can go anywhere.

I ride a 225 and love it. However, I've found that 20hp is the lowest power you can go while still being able to go the speed limit comfortably. Any less and the bike would really struggle.
I would only get a smaller bike if I never needed to go more than 80km/h
>>
>>27586310
I have just as much fun on my litre bike as my little bike.
You are right about your last point but it's not because of a speed/max speed ratio.
My 225 is way more maneuverable and can hop gutters and such. This makes it way more comfortable for low speed city riding. My Fireblade is a dream to ride but it's taxing to ride through the city everyday. My mate has a 690 enduro and that's just as fun through the city, but he also has a 125cc Sym scooter that can be tons of fun to hoon around on.
I guess my point is that for me I can have fun on anything with 2 wheels, but my fun ceiling depends on my mood for the day. Sometimes I want the big bike even if I'm riding though the city, sometimes I want the little bike even if I'm going through twisties.

Do europoors really?
Pic related is the only 125cc that should exist.

You do it with a scoot-scoot

They have their purpose in this world, even in the US. In third-world hell holes its the most they can afford, and aren't going anywhere fast anyway because they have 100million people in 3 square kilometers so they really make sense there. When its 110 with 200% humidity, and they live in a 200 square foot shack, a car just doesn't make sense for those people and their lifestyle.

In the US we have things called seasons, much more room to store transportation, want more comfort, and want to get places driving at least 90 miles per hour because we're going 45 miles away from our house to work, or shop, or bang some thot. Theres also that false comfort of having a metal cage around you for safety.

In reality, kids who ride bicycles to school, young adults who have a <10 mile commute, or people who live in an urban or suburban area taking a short trip could really use these. Zip down to the store, get your soda, tendies, smokes, whatever, scoot to your next destination all at 80mpg feeling the breeze in your hair.

But if you already have any car with air conditioning, heat, safety, weather protection etc, why would you spend more money on such a crummy little bike? Or if you've seen ja'quavius' 280,000 nissan altima with clear signs of neglect and crash damage, would you risk it? Nah, thats why bikes make almost no sense outside of recreation or enthusiasts in the US.

This is coming from someone who enjoyed a 250cc bike that topped out around 75mph it was great for little soda runs, snacks, or going to the girlfriends house a short distance away.

>>27583383
Prices hiked drastically when they announced the shortened programme to obtain a 125cc license here.
For a year you could barely buy a 125cc bike as they were out of stock everywhere.

Perfectly said, the best thing is to have both large and small bikes and just ride whatever you're feeling.
>>
>>27586613
HELL YEAH BROTHER, ROCK THAT BITCH.

On a serious note, you off-road a fucking helix. I thought I was ballsy treating my metro like an MX bike but that's a different level.
>>
>>27583383
Slow garbage and is more like city motorcycle. The proper minimum displacement for motorcycle that is ok for highway, also offroading is 250cc.
>>
>>27583426
I've an A2. 125cc two stroke motocross on a daylight licence is the fastest a to b town transport there will ever be.
>>
Anyone know if we need a license (or class) for 125cc in the US (Texas)?
>>
>>27592412
as in the written test. I'm really fucking stupid and would fail the written test. I already have a driver license from when I was smart though. Do i just need to take the course?
>>
>>27583383
£3k to my door and I'll take it.
>>
>>27584611

>>
>>27592434
Take the course. Very few people we consider human cannot pass a driving test.
I was lucky because I passed my test before your parents were a twitch in someones crotch.
>>
>>27592412
>>27592434
No, there is just 1 motorcycle endorsement licensure (assuming you're over 18 anyway). If you take a beginners course through MSF you can skip the skills test at the DMV. Only costs like $400 and they can teach anyone how to ride a motorcycle. There are practice written tests on the DMV's website. There are some really tricky and stupid questions only because there are some are only applicable in certain regions of the country, and then specific things you'd never do anyway.

Like there are questions on where you and the most experienced riders should be in a pack of 5 or more riders. The answer unfortunately is not
>who the fuck cares riding in large groups is gay
>>
>>27583383
gaytarded euro crap for countries where the government cucks people so they can't buy a 600 as a starter bike
>>
>>27589192
Probably the best bang for buck small bike ever. Based choice.
>>
>>27592944
its still under break-in so i haven't revved past 6.5k, once its around 300 or so, i'll start giving to WOT and seeing how it does
i rode one when i took my motorcycle course back in 2017 and i had a blast on it. finally found one for sale at a decent price and i was able to buy it, so i went out and bought it

Let's talk about the conservative crisis in masculinity. Remember, beard oil is gender affirming care.
>>
>>27594012
I mean let's be honest, a 125cc is closer to a pedal bicycle than a vehicle. Any disagreement is pure cope.

>>27594017

I'm seriously considering a TE150 as a beginners trail bike. I've been riding trails for a little over a year but I've never ridden two stroke. My 501 gets the job done just fine, but the way I have it set up, it's a little much for me on the really tight single track. Once I get better it'll be no problem
