Will he succeed?
BEEP BOOP "BEXLEY STREET" LOCATION CONFIRMED, PLEASE REMAIN SEATED FOR 5,068 MILE JOURNEY DOORS ARE LOCKED
>>27585448Seriously? Bad bet. He's been drinking his own FlavorAid.
>>27585448If he would do hybrids he'd make a fucking killing.
>>27585448Depends on how he intends on doing it. Imagine if they unveil a uber style robo taxi service but with 1000 humans watching the vehicles to see if it gets stuck or not. Thats would be interesting. I think they need 1-2 more breakthrough atleast to get it started. Current FSD is bit dodgy in some scenarios but could theoretically be supervized or even geofenced like waymo to test it out.
>>27585632>Imagine if they unveil a uber style robo taxi service but with 1000 humans watching the vehicles to see if it gets stuck or not. Thats would be interesting.cruise and waymo already do this
>>27585713Waymo is 1-2 city on couple of vehicles. Cruise is deded
>>27585497>implying Tesla can make an engine
Sales of established and in part aged Tesla models are slumping, the Semi and Clowntruck were dead at birth, development of new models isn't moving along quickly enough (Roadster announced in 2017 for 2020, still nowhere near production). He's grasping for any opportunity to get more of his crapmobiles on the road.
>>27585448all he's ever done is fail upwards with daddy's emerald mine money, so probably
All he’s ever done in life is btfo naysayers so yes I think he’ll succeed.
it has to be cheaper and more convenient than uber and lyft. it also can't fuck up and get on the news for doing something stupid even once. godspeed elon
>>27585813I see Tesla semis every day where I live
>>27585448Is he going to significantly refresh the Model 3, Y and S? I think people are just tired of the same egg look and what seems like the same four paint colors offered.
Taxis were always the logical conclusion for automated driving. It's the ultimate evolution of public transit.
>>27585786Waymo has hundreds of vehicles and the only thing stopping them from having more is regulatory hurdles.
>>27585497damn is stellantis going to rule us then?
>>27586287Nah just the ex-cons that they build for.Don't die or get convicted and they have no leverage on you.
>>27586282Regulatory hurdleCouple hundred thousand per vehicle + sensorStable internet connectionsRemote human monitor
People vastly underestimate how much money a company would make that operates a worldwide fleet of robotaxis. It would make profits from selling cars look like chump change.
>>27586358Uber drivers are cheap
>>27585448>Tesla cars use cameras for their FSD techIt's called we do a little trolling
>>27585448Of course not. He will die destitute. checkem
>>27585979cali? ive never seen one ever here
>>27586429an uber driver driving say 40 hours a week will likely make something like $50-70k. a robot would cost 0. you could put 2 more robo taxis on the road for the cost of paying one pajeet
>>27585448Do people ride taxis/uber that much? I live in a city too but since I own a car I have no clue how really popular they are.
>>27586520The sensors would cost as much or more than an uber driver
>>27586780would they? theyre on $50k teslas now
>>27586780Teslas with FSD don't use sensors, only cameras.
>>27585448Hopefully not. His business model is based on government handouts and he gets high off of his own farts. But that's also why he'll probably succeed as long as the fed keeps printing infinite money.
>>27585448He still hasn't even made normal EVs affordable and worth it for most people without huge government incentives.Chinks are more likely to get automated taxis at this rate.
>Elon said Model Y would be the best selling vehicle in the world for 2023It was.If he sees a path for robo-taxis with the current FSD progress then sure.
>>27586434Tesla is trying LIDARhttps://twitter.com/klwtts/status/1780279431447314705
>>27586013ive watched all of ex-driver and ive come here to tell you that you are wrong
>>27585448as an /n/ convert no way. i love driving my little shitbox and can't stand being a passenger now.
>>27586429LmaoA Uber drive is at 20-40x the actual cost point needed to make money of the service.
>>27585448No. The minute he stopped catering to woketards, he lost his immunity to bad news stories and government meddling. He bent a lot of rules and got away with a lot of shit, that he won't be able to, anymore.
>>27588402>used to be from /n/It shows. Drop the trip and be anon.
he's probably betting that tesla is too big to fail now. that's a bad idea because he is not good with biden or democrats in general
>>27588320Nope. Its just ground truth verification unit. They verify what their cameras see and match what the lidar sees
>>27585448
>>27585448lol, if he wants this to succeed he will have to geofence and service limited areas which he will be attacked as racist overonly reason companies like uber, lyft, and doordash actually make any money is from screwing over their workers letting them take the hit on deprecation, self employment taxes, along with having to maintain and purchase the vehicles themselves.
>>27589120nah i got the trip in lgbt
>>27589599Stop being gay.
>>27591172i tried really hard but its just not happening.
lol no
