Just change your oil twice as often and don't drive a poorly maintained car that you have to worry about generating metal in the oil.

Easy fix, and in the case of cars 'known' for bore scoring issues such as early Cayenne S models, you can do as above and run a higher quality oil or an MoS2 additive. In other cases just change the oil often and never worry.
