They came with front and rear solid axles with a small and lightweight form factor and reliable drivetrain. If the jeep was a mustang, the samurai was a corvette. It had all the same equipment but lacked the heavy weight that would sink it into a lotta the stuff other 4x4s would get caught with. The samurai was the ultimate no frills machine and it was even practical as a city car since it got such good gas mileage and was so easy to park. It was like having a supermoto bike. It would be a godsend to allow them to be imported to the US purely for the fact that they're one of the only cars left with essentially mechanical 4x4 perfection equal to a jeep but without the chrysler cost cutting and jeep girl/ middle aged nurse mallcrawl pandering and a decent price

I have a tan manual for about 2 years now and done 40000 kms and love it. Instead of being a fucking retard and adding a shit load of weight and big tires, I have kept it mostly stock and It goes good enough at 110kph at 3k. Still takes me to the beach and the bush when I need it. Just beat the shit out of it and have fun. Also, be prepped for to change all the fucking wheel bearings and the master clutch cylinder.
