South Africa

That‘s the South African model, only this gen was sold as a Chevy.
Was also the only Commodore sold in ZA, afterwards GM sold Opels as Opels.
For example the Opel Rekord E was sold till ‘92 seven years after Germany stopped making them.
They sold a GSI version with a Buick 3800 series I in it auto only, which had the limited slip diff from a VN Commodore in it.
Here is a vid for non South Africans:

South Africa was the only non Euro place where Opels were sold as Opels apart from the first Commodore.
Most famous one was the Opel Kadett Superboss which was a straight up race car, came with the non turbo version of the Opel Calibra turbo engine.
The ZA version had 170 hp instead of the German versions 150 hp.
There is a big cult following in ZA for Opels, similar to VW stuff.
You could see it like how it used to be in Germany/Switzerland/Netherlands back in the 80/90s where you had the Opel drivers and the VW guys.

Saw a mint Opel Astra OPC in Windhoek Namibia for sale by a Namib German, shit was nice but 15k € is to much for that boy.

Was faster back then, and won a lot of races in the touring car championships (hence the nickname Superboss).
Made RWD cars look like homosexuals on the track kek

Did people who wear tuxedos on their small sailboats really drive Commodores? Or is that just marketing?
>>
>>27596103
in countries that have never heard of commodores it's all about marketing. They don't know it's just a commodore. They sold commos as super upmarket buicks in china.

Opels were sold in the US as Opels

we gave up our car industry to prop up university's for diploma mills for the Chinese market. The same universities that say we should have lower speed limit.

>only this gen was sold as a Chevy
Some of the later models were sold in the middle east as Chevy.
>>
>>27596142
Yeah right, but weren't those Opel Rekords/Manatas/GTs sold as Buick Opels?
If I remember correctly they were exclusively sold at Buick dealerships.
>>
>>27596208
Yeah but i meant ZA, the ones sold in Jihadlands where Holden Commodores/Statesman sold as Chevy Luminas.
ZA got them too as Chevies, but those had not much in common with the Omega B.
Chassis was wider and longer, different subframe, Chevy V8 etc.
