After being a sedan/hatchback cuck my entire life, I've come to realize that the soccer moms were right. Driving an SUV just feels better. Better visibility. Better safety. More comfortable ride. Better in bad driving conditions. Trucks are nice too, but if you don't tow anything heavier than 2000lbs, they're total overkill.

After taking the SUVpill, I can't go back to sedans now. Why does /o/ hate crossovers and SUVs? Is it poorfag cope?

You know anon, SUVs and crossovers are different types of vehicles.

I have an eggshit hatchback and my mom has an SUV. Driven both I can say that driving big cars suck. I like em small

Even poorfags like me can afford an SUV now. This starts at 23k.

If you want a non technical reason, it's because it feels not only like a boring mom car, same as minivans used to be, but moreso because there is a critical mass of SUVs and crossovers on the road, to the point where it is impossible to feel any kind of individuality in such a vehicle. Some people like to derive their differences and identity from the car they drive, and they can't do that in a vehicle like that. Even if a crossover would likely suit the owner well, there is a desire for wagons among some crowds as an alternative to not be like everyone else. Everybody wants to be different in different ways.

>>27596875
>feels like its about to roll over at all times
>slushy automatic transmission with tall first gears, indecisive "fuel saving" shift logic and a completely useless manual mode
>heavy sound deadening removes all driver feedback from the engine or trans
>common, bland, boring, so much so that you can't even find them in parking lots half the time
>no manuals
>high curb weight
>huge gas-guzzling v6's still feel slow
>aerodynamics of a brick wall
>nauseatingly soft suspension
>expensive service
>poor visibility where it actually matters, i.e. not just seeing over the roof of some sedan
>>
>>27596875
>better visibility
the only improvement in visibility is that you can see further down the horizon, which has no real implications when driving. Everything else is worse.

3 cylinder crossovers aren't SUVs. that's a tall car

This is an SUV - 2500Kgs and a 180 hp V8 with super tall gearing.

Apperently suv drivers were unaware of that rock, so bumped it and floored it till they got stuck or tipped over. Also the fat guy was humping it, maybe hes drunk, IDK.
>>
>>27597166
My bad had to look it up. Its either 210 or 255 hp.

Bought a rather large cuckover after driving GMT800 for many years and I'd say it's neither of these things:
>Driving an SUV just feels better. Better visibility. Better safety. More comfortable ride. Better in bad driving conditions.
It's a mix of a car and a truck with a lot of disadvantages from both. Makes sense only if you can't afford both.

What about the sedan

>>27596926
Yeah, looks like a mini urus even.
>>27597159
That's fine with me, I use it as a DD with great gas millage and ability to haul crap in it while my fun car stays clean.

Some of the pictures are grainy low rez so I cant tell which model is on its side, but aside from the fat guy the rest are SUVs/crossovers

fat guy just doing it for the lulz.
>>27597143
vehicles got high centered on that rock enough that it made the rounds on news and someone made a facebook page. I think the rock has since been removed unfortunately, so that fb page just covers other incidents of retardo drivers. Rocked in Omaha was the page

No the fat guy crashed into it because he can't see over his belly.

To be fair I can't see low objects like randomly placed curbs in my shitbox because the seat sits so low. I had better visibility in my crossover. I drove a Chevy Tahoe for work and crashed into a yellow traffic pole because I couldn't even see it sticking up 3-4 feet off the ground. Some cars are just designed shitty to where you're sitting too low below the belt line.

I just like going fast too much. They make fast SUVs but they're all too expensive. One good thing about cars is the performance value is very cheap. 460, 480hp in a car only costs you like 40-50k bucks. Take the 485hp engine out of a 50k Charger, put it in a Durango or a Jeep, and now it's 80k. 90k CT5V turns into a 150k Escalade . I mean if I wanted to trade my Mustang in for an SUV, best I could get is a Edge ST which has a scrawny little 2.7l V6 that doesn't even make 400hp with a tune. I expect a SUV to be a little more expensive because they simply have more sheet metal and are usually AWD but come on, a 30, 40, 50k premium is too much.

But you act like this never ever happens to cars. It's a result of oblivious drivers, not visibility. The difference is a car would just bump into the rock and drive away with a cracked bumper. It's only when SUVs with their higher ground clearance and steep approach angles hit it that they go up and over and get stuck and create a spectacle. Obviously there's no pictures of cars getting stuck because it's impossible to do so. Not because they have better visibility.

‘SUV Supremacy’. Posts the most plebeian one possible. Friends wife had one of those. CVT lasted about 50K km. She drives a Cx-5 now with a proper auto. How about a LandCruiser or a Patrol if you’re thinking supremacy?
