Most people who modify their car to be louder are coping with a massive inferiority complex and are usually very unsuccessful in life/school/work; the only place they can "win" is by having a noisy car. All these without driver constantly looking at speedometer, tachometer. Biggest problem with many modern stock cars is that they have too much sound deadening materials between engine bay and interior making the engine bit difficult for the driver to hear the engine.
