Suppose I want to work as a transporter. What car should I get? It should have four doors, be able to outrun and outmaneuver almost anything, go on uneven terrain, withstand hits gracefully and be reliable. And it should have at least 600kg payload, for four average adults and the goods themselves. Can you pick one car that ticks all those boxes, /o/?
Upgrades such as Koni shocks allowed, just beware that you don't overload them. For example, 80 kilo overload would mean you can't outmaneuver the pursuers should a chase ensue.

There is no car in existence that fits this entire list. The best you can do is split it right down the middle and get a car that fits maybe half of your requirements here.

>>
>>27633946
Nothing factory will take abuse off road at speed. You have to purpose build shit like that. An XJ with subframe stiffening, an exoskeleton, engine swap, trussed one tons, at least 37" tires on beadlocks, and some extreme coilovers or air shocks would be the only thing that can really do what you're asking fpr a reasonable cost.

Realistically, if you really NEEDED some shit like this, you'd almost be better off ground up building a tube chassis rig with completely custom everything.
>>
>>27635871
That's going to be heavy as fuck to the point where it's probably not going to outrun a whole lot.

Your criteria is retarded, dude. You don't seem to understand that having something that can take hits and run across uneven terrain quickly and reliably necessitates weight. You compensate weight with horsepower.

Something like pic related with a cargo space built in would be ideal given suspension geometry and components suited for high speed. It weighing three tons doesn't matter if it's making 800 horses. There's a reason rock bouncers and trophy trucks have serious power. Anything else is going to be a compromise that won't do what you're asking for.
>>
>>27635815

>>
>>27635871
>trussed one tons
OP said uneven terrain not rock crawling. What a fucking retard you are.
>>
>>27635972
There is literally no downside to trussing axles, you fucking mongoloid retard. It can only be of benefit since it adds rigidity and makes the axle less prone to a catastrophic bend or break. IFS would be full retard, so don't even suggest it.
>>
>>27635990
Rally cars use IFS, fuck off. You need to get away from the bad guys and into a safe location quick enough, not go memeing into impassable terrain. It's not an overland tour.
>>
>>27635937
I'm not OP, I'm just pointing out that this is an impossible engineering challenge that shouldn't even have been posted on this board. The top speed of a trophy truck is 130 MPH, completely laughable by modern car standards. You're not even outrunning a police-issue SUV at that speed.

>>27635969
The moose test is a dodging exercise that doesn't have anything to do with outrunning
or outmaneuvering another car in a driving scenario. You're not doing an obstacle course, you're doing what is essentially a track or rally race, which leads to different suspension requirements. If this is all it took then every F1, Rally, or even stock series setup would necessitate a hydropneumatic suspension setup, and since this is not the case we can conclude that there are other considerations to be made when it comes to outrunning other cars.
>>
>>27635999
If you're considering "rally cars", you're already a mouth-breather of such biblical proportions that you should buy the first WRX you can, make terroristic threats, and then try to run the border. Do it, faggot.

>>27636004
Sure, I don't disagree with you. I made my posts to get that same point across in a less belligerent manner which was clearly a wasted effort. You're either fast on road or off road. If you compromise for both, your durability will be the Achilles heel. There's no way around this. OP is a faggot and I'm retarded for getting baited.
>>
>>27636004
>You're not doing an obstacle course
Of course you are, what do you imagine being chased in a car is like? It's about going as fast as you can without crashing into anything.

VW Phaeton, the ultimate sleeper. Passes for a Passat meaning you'll send the pursuers into wild goose chases along the way.
>>
>>27636019
The moose test is specifically about doing a very specific back-and-forth jerking motion at speed for avoiding something in the middle of the road. It has nothing to do with any other kind of driving maneuver. Again, if this suspension is so good for outrunning purposes, why isn't it widely used in quite literally any motorsport on any kind of road or track, professional or amateur, stock, formula, or open, ever?
>>
>>27636134
Because those aren't obstacle races and because maintenance costs skyrocket and it's also difficult to implement for an one-off car like racing cars tend to be with all their modifications
>>
>>27636140
>Because those aren't obstacle races and because maintenance costs skyrocket
Glad we agree that this doesn't fit OP's needs then.
>>
>>27636143
How doesn't it? There's a reason they used Citröen XMs for highly sensitive transportation needs in France in the 90s. In the event of a high speed chase it was one of the best cars you could be in.
Maintain it well and it will reward you. Neglect it and it will punish you.
>>
>>27636176
The fact that I have literally never heard this claim before in my life aside, that was an i4 car surrounded by other i4 cars which, again, uses a type of suspension that is rated as being good in a ROLLOVER TEST and not anything that involves going down roads at speed and making the various maneuvers that this involves.

Take a look at an actual modern real-world car chase and look at what drivers are actually doing during them. Moose maneuvers are entirely irrelevant in these situations, it's a completely different kind of test for a completely different kind of situation. I'm not even saying that those suspensions aren't cool, I'm just saying that they are completely irrelevant in these kinds of situations and I find the fixation on it incredibly strange.

You can just ditch their ass if your car is faster than theirs. Break line of sight then take an exit (or don't) and leave them guessing.
>>
>>27637187
That only works if there's only one car pursuing and the moment you run into the inevitable jam you're fucked. Besides, breaking line of sight is much harder there because it's pretty much an obstacle-free view.
