The midgate was ahead of its time and I guarantee it will make a comeback.
>>27634580Its overrated because people see the shape and assume its a real truckBut its actually a fwd cuckover piece of shit with a v6
>>27634602Wonder what you think of the 2.x Liter trucks of now. Also the truck is 4WD when it matters, so again your points fall flat.
>>27634580I see a lot of these being used as work trucks in Shitcago. Same with pic related. The majority of truck owners don't really need more than what these vehicles are capable of.
>>27634580The tailgate and hidden bed compartment is revolutionary.
>>27634588You're in luck, it did come back already with the Silverado EV
>>27634580The Avalanche is better.>>27634588This.
>>27634623>crewcab>short bed>fordWow, a useless pos just like it's modern oversized brethren.
>>27635497More doors more whores
>>27635490>>27635493>chevy>better than anything
>>27635507better than your bus pass
>>27635499Well sure, if said vehicle comes with an 8ft bed.
>>27634588>>27635490ah yes, let me just open the midgate and let all the nasty, dirty, dusty, smelly shit meant for the outside bed into my white leather wrapped interior.what fucking retard designed this?
>>27635507>brand whoringlawl
>>27635513ah yes, let me just let my windows down and let all the nasty, dirty, smelly shit meant for the inside to get all over my leather wrapped interior that i could just simply clean off afterwards. dumbass frog.
>>27635526yes because you have construction material fly in through your window and fuck up the interior.
>>27635526exactly how i feel driving my s-class with double cabin air filters
>>27635513it still has the same length bed as any other ccsb and you are not required to open the midgate to use the bed normally, like any other ccsb. it merely opens up the option of carrying longer things. the white leather is also not standard, you can get it with black instead. >nooooooo you can't just make it more useful than most crew cab truck beds in a completely optional way
>>27634588fpbp and checked>>27635493This. Ridgeline doesn't have a midgate and has a retarded storage in the bed floor instead of the side boxes.
>>27635542Damn I really miss the Avalanche, it was truly the "Swiss army knife" truck with the same power as a Silverado.
>>27635542The floor compartment is actually my favorite part of the truck.
>>27635559Why? You can't access it if there's something in the bed lying over the hatch. The need to unload your cargo to get a spare if you have a flat tire is plainly retarded, it's something you expect from a car, not a truck.Besides that, all the dirt and water easily gets inside at least once you open it or anyway if the seals aren't that good (remember, it's the bed we're talking about, so heavy things lie or sometimes even fall on it).
>>27635574>You can't access it if there's something in the bed lying over the hatchHe doesnt haul anything lol
>>27635531sure, thats fine in a working mens truck.not some gaudy optioned out leather interior truck
>>27635585Always thought it's a vehicle to larp as a truck owner while not being a real truck owner.Like the jews that are eager to tell anyone they are not really white people if confronted directly.
>>27635574The way I have it set up is the following: I have my strap down harnesses, ramps, and tools always there. For track day, I throw take out the harness and ramp and load up the motorcycle. Unfortunately you're right I can't put the ramp back in the trunk, but I just tie it down and it's all good. This is better than not having that trunk at all and always having to have it either at home, unsecured in the bed or in the cabin of my truck.
>>27635756The Avalanche had it better with lockable side storage that is available at all times unless you install a bed cap. RAM kind of copied it with the RamBox. I usually put fire extinguishers, recovery gear and some other tools there. Know people who put ice and drinks there instead. The opening is kind of tight though, but I believe it's because of the structural D-pillar needed for the midgate.
>>27635938Honda Ridgeline is miles more reliable.
>>27636716 They're both gimmicky trash unibody wastes of metal. At least the Avalanche came with drivetrains worth a shit.
>>27636716>car>miles more reliable than GMT8003/10 made me reply with greentext
>>27635542>Need a truck for hiking and rock climbing.Just one of those plastic tubs would work in the back of a geo metro.
>>27637691No thanks, fag.
>>27637696>fagYou are one of those guys that has a wheel barrow in his bed and says he can't carry anymore because "I AM FULLY LOADED"
>>27636742Body on frame rusting is catastrophic compared to unibody.
>>27634615>Also the truck is 4WD when it mattersIt's a slip and grip AWD actually
>>27637894So basically when it matters
>>27635490>8 years in, 100k etruck paid off>warranty expired>open midgate to slide in sheet of lumber>right midgate motor control sensor damaged>canbus shorted to ground>ecu loses comm with abs and bcm>money light comes on dash>engine wont crank>inspection is dueFucking horrible.
Just like my crossfire srt-6
>>27637965ywnba4x4
>>27637966The midgate is manually operated.
>>27638032>buy $100k etruck>still have to manually operate something
>>27637691>Need a truck for hiking and rock climbing. Can't find that in the picture. Where did you get it from?
>>27638032https://www.chevrolet.com/support/quick-start-guides/silverado-ev/multi-flex-midgate>4. Press either of the buttons to open the larger door of the midgate (the 60-pass-through door).>5. Press either of the buttons a second time to open the smaller door if the large door is already open.
>>27634580Just like body on frame truggfags, they drive like retarded assholes. Bonus points for always having a missing front bumper and grill with the hood held down with a bungee cord
>>27638379The hiking boot and "Paracord" that americans obsess about?
>>27638500>sees hiking boot and paracord>assumes he is told he needs a truck to use those>instantly thinks about *mericansLooks like you're the one obsessed. Get help.
>>27638500That's a climbing rope dumbass
Midgate based. The bed panels on avalanches are a goddamn hassle.
>>27639473Avalanche doesn't make sense because of this >>27635513 Interesting truck though.
>>27639715It's not a problem when it's rolling, that I've noticed - but if you left it open all day parked yeah shit'll get in there.Though if you had the horrid panels on it'd be minimal I guess (So you had from the tailgate to the dash but covered). Not tried it like that though.
>>27639473Yep, but if you want a firm bed cover you can take with you removed, it's either the panels or that thing they made for the Envoy XUV, I guess.>>27639715Replace the word "all" with the word "some" and it will start to make sense you're looking for.The original Avalanche didn't came with white interiors iirc. On the contrary, the leather ones were pretty rugged and I remember at least one outdoor gear themed option.>>27639755>Not tried it like that though. It's neat. I've even tried sleeping inside like that.
>>27639827The inside still gets dirty.
>>27640299It does regardlessThen you clean it
>>27640306I would never open that open if I had an avalanche. The amount of dust and crap that would enter the cabin would be unbearable. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool idea.
>>27640442I wonder if they could design an airfoil that deploys on the back of the cab to prevent most blowback? Seems like something a super computer simulation and some wind tunnel testing could try to solve.Alternately, attach a folding lexan panel to the seat backs of the back row that can latch to mounting points between the front and back of the cab. Like a limo separator.
>>27640442Don't let this man know about convertibles
>>27640442Is this a bot reply?>>27640479This one too
>>27640479Still not sure how that would work honestly... Maybe if you had no cargo going into the cabin, I guess, but that's not really the point of the extension. >>27640533I don't like convertibles either. >>27641245Beep boop
>>27641413>Beep boopI mean both replies are ridiculous, as if you guys never tried driving with windows down or participating even in mild off roading (which usually gets down to you being in and out of the truck while being dirty, the dust/dirt flying near the open windows and so on). The trucks are meant for that, especially the truck in question given all its features and ad campaign.Or, as another poster aptly noticed, the convertibles. If that's "unbearable" for you, better tell that to your psychiatrist, not to us. It's not by any means normal.
