Yamaha have been known to make the odd car engine or two. The v6 in the Ford Taurus was one of theirs.Volvo and Toyota also ran Yamaha engines

Hell, the head designer from Norton now has his own company that sells rotary motorcycles. I doubt they move much product, but enough that the lights are still on after ten years.
