I can see a future where certain cities as well as those big apartment complexes with their own lots impose extra fees for owning non electric cars, or even outright mandate them if the person does not own their own parking space.
>>
a politician is born
>>
anyone have the pic of that random parking lot at a park or something where there's spaces for regular cars, and the spaces for the EVs all have the asphalt melted and damaged from all the fires that happen over them?
>>
>>27828510
That's only a big issue in america where vehicle inspection is a fucking joke
>>
Parking lots in general are gay. There should be integrated parking in every apartment building or underground parking. Having big ass open lots is a waste of space.
>>
>>27828510
Bro the UK already does this, you get charged £12 (~$15) per day for driving into the city centres with a 'high emissions' vehicle

Sooner rather than later buying an ICE over an EV won't make financial sense anymore
>>
>>27828575
This also some states like Maryland only require you to get an inspection once

My driveway after I undercoat my car with old engine oil
>>
Its not really hard to fix leaking oil but it seems to be for some.
>>
>>27828575
/thread
in first world countries a single droplet of oil in the engine bay means you failed inspection.
>>
>>27828510
More like I see a future where politicians promise this in like 2045, when they envision themselves long out of office.
>>
>cities and big apartment complexes
have other problems than oily pavement
>>
>>27828591
>UK is shithole, that's just a tax on the poor
Vehicles are already 99% smog-free unless they're chinese, those "emissions" merely go up into the atmosphere and disperse as they would anywhere else; It's no longer the 70's where every city is coated in a thick haze
>usefulidiots/politicians/wef/banks are stupid and evil
>>
>>27828705
I had SWAT in my complex 3 times in one fucking year. (Vegas, when I was younger).
Society is crumbling and the elite are worried about oil spots in parking lots.

Make gated communities illegal and watch crime rates plummet, illegals get deported at record numbers and new prisons get built at a record pace as criminals are actually prosecuted.

This would only be a problem for poor people. Therefore, such a future is extremely based.

There is where I live. You just drive into the building in the fucking city center and park in a huge underground garage. Not most, but a ton of buildings have them. Enough that if yours doesn't but you really want your car garaged, you can easily rent one in a short walking distance. If you have one, it's just one elevator ride directly to your car.
>>
>>27828865
And if you're super lucky like me (picrelated), you not only get a huge space with your apartment (everything my fingers point to is my box, right up to the walls), but you have a special gov permission from way back when this garage got constructed to enclose it, which is what I'm gonna do next year. So I'll have a little car workshop right under my apartment in the center of a walkable city. Europe is surely based.

It's not just Euros. I live in a condo complex and I wish I had a space like that guy. Shitty property management puts up parking and appearance regulations but won't do shit about thefts or car break-ins.

This is how you can tell when a redditor who says new construction shouldn't accommodate any parking is just butthurt. We've known about underground lots for decades.
