Well, my friend, because those are too powerful. I live in Yuropistan and those won't pass inspection if I put them in my shitbox, so the engine needs to have less than about 275 hp in stock form.
Vortec, UZ makes no power and BMW V8s suck.

>>27832936I don't think they require you to put your car on a dyno but IIRC you need to have documentation about the engine to show the inspector (eg. engine code, advertised power, VIN of donor car, etc). I guess it's up the the individual inspector whether he will just open the hood and go "yup, that's a vee ate mate" or whether he'll actually try to confirm that the engine is what it's claimed to be.

There's no limit on power on any EU cunt when it comes to engine swaps, only caviat being that if the new engine is making considerably more power than the old one you need to re-do the dynamic tests (basically prove that the brakes and suspension is up to snuff).The only limiting factor I know of is pollution standards, you can't install an engine that is a lower standard than what you had (e.g. can't swap an EURO 3 engine in an EURO 5 car).

Basically if you swap your engine to a more powerful one you can't go below a certain kg/kW figure, which depends on what the stock kg/kW figure is.
