Post trends you miss. For me, it's copper paint.

Multiple performance trim options for normal family cars.

I miss reasonable tire sizes. Namely when they still had sidewalls and wheel size greater than 18'' was treading on comical territory.
>>
>>27832845
That was a thing for like 50 years, not really a trend. But yeah, sleeper sedans were cool as fuck.
>>
>>27832869
Cool high performance factory sleeper sedans were only around for like 10 years. Everything after 1973 was a pale imitation.
>>

I just miss when cars came in different colors period. It seems like at least 90% of the cars I see day to day are only black, gray, silver, or white.

Australia always had the performance family sedan and wagons up until the end, usually with a V8 or spicy 6
Personally the lack of cheaper turbo-4 coupes is kind of sad for the entry level young fellas getting into cars and wanting something that's genuinely fast, decent handling and has tuning potential but I don't expect to see them ever make a big come back.

The early '00s were full of this honestly, not even a shitbox thing as most luxury brands had a steel/metal blue and even if you look at early '00s factory car photos many of them are drenched in blue filters since it was the ("futuristic") style at the time.

There's a 50-something black dude in my town who drives an immaculate 1990 Grand Marquis with spinners. If you stop next to him at a light, he's always bumping 80s/90s hip-hop, wearing a bright neon pink do-rag and smoking newports. I'm glad the good times never ended for him. He's like a time capsule of early 90s cool.

Euro trends from early 2010s.
> Cheap hot hatches (Peugeot 308 GTI, Opel Astra SRi, VW Scirocco etc.)
> Coupeish sedans from mass market brands (VW Passat CC, Peugeot 407, Alfa Brera)
> Premium small hatches (DS3, Audi A1/S1, Abarth 500), still exists as Mini
> French bigger sedans (Peugeot 607, C6, Renault Latitude)
> Bad attempts at early small CUVs (Citroen C4 Cactus, Opel Mokka 1st gen, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mazda CX-3)

None are really all that desirable though.

Two-seater supermini cars. The newest petroleum powered Smart ForTwo (gas) is 7 years old. The newest competitor. the Scion/Toyota iQ, is 10 years old. Even the native European markets have essentially accepted that the minimum size of a car must have four seats and enough cargo for two luggage cases.
>>
>>27837161
The big consideration that has to be made for this is that it's probably made for the Japanese. It's going to run into the same problem that the Miata does, which is that it doesn't fit tall people.
>>
>>27837227
Tiny commuter cars like that are the actual perfect use case for electric, I'm surprised we haven't seen more of them pop up, but I guess it's not too surprising since everyone's focusing solely on fuckhueg SUVs with inflated price tags from tacked on "luxury" features.

I think it's because they cant meet U.S safety standards?

I think the fatality rate on those things getting railed by semi trucks and even large SUVs is pretty high.
>>
>>27837376
>I think it's because they cant meet U.S safety standards?

Literally both cars were sold in the us
>>
>>27837376
I doubt that's the case since they're generally classified differently, but even outside the US there's just not much
>>
>>27837389

>>27837275
The problem is range, it's hard to fit a big heavy battery in a small car.

>>27837376
Not safety but emissions. US has convoluted emissions laws that strongly favor "light trucks" and larger vehicles.
>>
>>27837459
Tiny city cars don't need range though, they're not made for going long distances in the first place

Also that thing is hilarious and I love it.

I miss the vinyl decals on the side saying DOHC or VVTi/VTEC and shit like that. plus the vinyl stripes that they used to put along the sides of everything, and the plastic/rubber/chrome molding along the sides of cars. everything is just a giant flat field of monocolor paint, so boring.
