why do american drivers barely compete in motorsports outside of the US anymore
even within the US, many of the most prestigious championships have relatively few american drivers
>>
>>27833636
NASCAR had 114 milion average viewers in 2022 and is easier than F1
>>
>>27833705
why have nascar drivers won F1 but not a single F1 driver has won nascar.
>>
>>27833705
>In 2024, NASCAR had an average of 3.85 million viewers on television, which was a 35% increase from the previous year's 2.86 million.

dumbass
>>
>>27833709
Mario Andretti, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Dan Gurney all won races in F1, NASCAR, and Indy. No one's won the championship in both F1 and NASCAR, though.

>Juan Pablo Montoya
big dick energy name.

Successful drivers all start at a young age.
In Europe, that often means karting - but kids in the US don't have nearly the same resources and opportunities for competitive karting as do kids in Europe.
So Europeans tend to excel in open-wheel classes (Indycar, F1, etc.) which then leads to GT classes, LMP classes, etc.

In the US, kids who want to get started are usually limited to drag racing, motorcross, or dirt track (dirt bikes, sprint cars, etc.).
So Americans tend to excel in those classes, either moving up through dragsters, or dirt track sprint cars, stock cars, and Nascar.
>>
>>27833636
Because non-American mototsports isn't on tv when they're awake.
So they grow up watching NASCAR and Indy, then want to race in those leagues.
>>

>>27833833
Also because european manufacturers can buy out the FIA so the regulations are written in their favor leading to shit like VAG's diesel dominance or Hamilton having /blacked/ the entire F1 legacy from merely having the best car.

High profile european motorsports are more about the car, and high profile american ones are more about the driver (because the cars are all the same anyway).
>>
>>27833849
>from merely having the best car
You're acting as though that wasn't the case for virtually every single driver's champion.
You don't win the championship in a car that's not the best, or at least in contention for the #1 spot. People need to realize that F1 isn't really about who the best driver is. It's an engineering competition with a side of car-themed soap opera
>>
>>27833709
because no F1 driver wants to downgrade to fucking nascar. are you dumb or something?
>>
giga ameriboo from yurop here. I love mutt sports and stuff but nascar ain't cutting it for me. that shit is hella stupid
>>
>>27833636
> why do american drivers barely compete in motorsports outside of the US anymore
Americans are too fat to fit in cars that can actually corner like an F1.
>>
>>27833636
Because we're a continent all on our own the same size as all of western Europe with Canada for a hat and Mexico for pants. You ever looked at how expensive and a pain in the ass it is to take your car with you when you cross either the Pacific or Atlantic oceans?
>>
>>27833636
International motorsports is very Euro-centric, and Europe has a whole network of feeder series that prepare drivers for success. By the time a European driver makes it into F1 or one of the FIA endurance series they'll have been racing formula cars for close to a decade in F4, F3, F2, various manufacturer championships, etc., on the exact same tracks that make up most of the calendar of most international series, and against a lot of the same drivers they'll be racing in those series too. Americans don't get that, even the ones with rich parents that put them into racing early enough come up on exclusively American tracks and in series that feed into Indy, NASCAR, or one of the NA enduro series.

Europe and Asia also have quite a few manufacturers and other organizations with "academy" programs or other sponsorships that help young drivers work their way up through the levels of international motorsports, and the US doesn't really have that either.
>>
>>27833705
>Nascar is easier than F1
lmao. We all know what happens when a F1 driver goes against a Nascar driver. It doesn't end well for the F1 driver lol.
>>
>>27834573
Nice cope, A good driver could win in even a lawnmower race
>>
>>27834547
uh… Senna routinely won with the worst car.

Because the F1 drivers that have you're counting as the NASCAR drivers.

It's a logical fallacy/shitty bait on your part.
>>
>>27834793
Remind us: How many NASCAR races has Senna won?
>>
>>27833636
America has their own set of sports. They don't excel in soccer cricket or rugby. In the same way, they don't excel in f1 or rally they have their own motor sports that they are more interested in
>>
>>27834780
are you talking about schumacher vs edwards?
schumacher was retired by that point
>>
>>27834735
finally a decent answer, although that doesn't really answer why americans don't (refuse or can't?) improve their feeder network for drivers

And? Rally drivers like Rohrl and Tajima are still racing in their 70's. Are F1 drivers really that weak and feeble that they shrivel up and become useless at 50?
>>
>>27835206
i'm sorry, but this guy looks like the amerimutt meme.
>>
>>27833636
because american children raise themselves and european kids are spoiled brats

that by definition means they aren't retired

They race a special event every now and then. It's not like they're still competing in the WRC for a living.
>>

how many rally stages has dale earnhardt finished?
>>
>>27835453
in case you haven't noticed, schumacher has been in a coma for the past 10 years
