This is my twin engine 3000gt inspirated by the LM edition car from gran turismo 1-2.
the secend engine in the door is a lightweight 1.3l 95hp from a Mitsubishi colt.
It has alternator, steeringpump and it is getting a 1000hp procharger to boost the main engine, not conected to the drivetrain.
The main engine gets nothing only drivetrain.
This gives me a clean engine bay easy to work on,no lag, less heat,no backpressure, lower cylinder pressure ect. And fore fun. Final Goal is 800whp with wide power range an low lag.
Weight is 1370kg

>front engine isn't functional
>side engine probably isn't either
>bodywork is mounted to act like a series of parachutes
>chassis all cut up to the point where there is no original car left
>giant rear wing attached to nothing
What's the point?

fortunately this car isn’t mine, just something i saw while scrolling facebook. figured i’d share it here.

i want to say he built it for hillclimb events

guess I was right about the side engine too >>27834078 you can see the flywheel. How the fuck is that going to connect to anything?

according to the owner, that engine isn’t connected to the driveline whatsoever. it’s only purpose to power ACC & pro charger.

what is the function of the turbine looking thing on the exhaust? muffler?
surely this is a disaster for VE and you would want long tube headers if the engine is externally charged, it should be built similar to a nitrous setup.

i want to say the owner fabbed that turbine looking apparatus so that it still sounds turbocharged (?) stupid, i know. not really sure what he was thinking with that but the rest of the build and his ideas are very interesting.
>>
>>27834119
looking at your second pic, that is a fucking disaster for flow, the whole exhaust is built like shit, a 1940s pickup truck flows better.
no idea at all what his goals with that are lmao

the manifold hardware looks odd and its using oem motor mounts, the more I look at this thing the more i am lost.
did he just lay his hands on the rolling chassis and do this to it? because that chassis is surely professionally done.
>>

to my knowledge he’s done everything to this car

>>
>>27834046
How is hauling a second engine around better than just powering everything from one engine.
>>
>>27834046
that's really fun. it feels really fucking stupid though, right now he's basically just running an alternator and power steering pump off the smaller engine, and even the PS pump could be electric. then if it's meant for time attack or hillclimbs you could just run no alternator and change the battery before a run (not that a modern alternator even takes that much power).
if he does put a supercharger on it, that's a lot more interesting. it's going to be hell to route everything though. i feel like modern electric turbos would still be a better choice than a fucking 4 cylinder in the side.
it's really a "fuck it lmao" build so respect for that.

also maybe a rotary would have been a better choice for his glorified generator engine.

that's nice and all but It looks more like the guy intends to drive the supercharger off of the rear of the engine.
I know this because if you look there is no space for it in the front of the engine, and there is a massive opening behind the engine in this pic. >>27834078
in this pic you see a transmission bellhousing now bolted to the engine >>27834070
On top of that, the intercooler is in the rear.
if he was intending on using the front of the engine to drive the supercharger, he would have likely mounted the engine backwards.
finally, it makes sense to put more weight in the rear of the car.

He will probably make custom hardware to drive it, not just 1:1 but idk.
>>
Kek I know who's posting this thread and the dude who builds it.

OP I won't share who u are but.

Red.

As for everyone in the thread this is a real deal Pikes Peak hill climb car with complete function in mind. It's a genuine marvel of engineering and only goes to show how everyone slept on the 6G7 motors.
>>
>>27834046
all that Car and it uses shit tires kek.
The bare minimum would be Hoosier A/R7s.
Ideally a non DOT Michelin or Goodyear slick
>>
>>27834989
AD09 is a nice tire but not for this application, would rather see it on A048/50/52 or AR1 or non DOT slicks like you were saying.
>>
>>27834078
All that effort, all that work, and it's riding on Teins...
>>
>>27835008
anything besides a slick is a complete waste of time for something like that.
also, A052 are basically a qualifying tires.
1 lap and done.
we use those for Autocross because of that.
good luck getting those to work on track
>>
>>27835033
fug, didn't notice that.
what a garbage heap of a car.
especially since a custom set of Bilstein, JRI, Penske, or Olihms arn't that expensive.
>>
>>27835072
none of the tires i stated are a seat time or W2W tire, had more of a super lap in mind.

i use Ecsta V730 for seat time in my car, no comfortable enough to go with one of the super 200s you’d use for one heater.
>>
>>27834918
>It's a genuine marvel of engineering
The "aero" suggests someone who imitates what they see others doing without actually understanding it.
>>
>>27836157
The rear "wing" looks like it's not a wing but a spoiler, isn't it? Just a sheet of metal that was bent.
I wonder how much a "lightweight 1.3l 95hp" engine weights. Sounds cool but is it even practical, will it make it faster than just running everything from the front engine and not lugging the side engine?
Also - frontal crash protection - looks to me like the first high speed frontal crash will combine the driver and the engine into a single entity.
>>
>>27834046
>Thread has been up an entire day

i think the guy who posted this on facebook isn’t fluent english, probably a second language. like i said, i just ctrl+v
>>
>>27836933
I was thinking more about the stuff on the front. Those "canards" below the headlights aren't doing anything, and the ones above probably increase drag far more than whatever little downforce they create.
>>
>>27834379
>how much meth went into this, do you think
The workmanship is way too good, this isn't meth, this is pure weaponized autism.
>>
>>27836933
>looks to me like the first high speed frontal crash will combine the driver and the engine into a single entity.
that's a stock engine and stock engine placement. the only difference from a roadgoing car is missing crumple zones which would not affect high speed frontal impacts
>>
>>27837279
to be fair, 99% of canards dont do anything, people see them on gt cars and put them on theirs, they dont do any cfd and just put them wherever is easiest, they are nonfunctional
>>
>>27834989
It's a build in progress. they could be dry rot tires found in a swap they're probably only there to move the car around for the time being. why buy expensive tires that'll be too old by the time it's ready to race?
>>
>>27839194
this, same with the tiens, probably just a base to get the chassis built around.
why the fuck would you get custom setup shocks and springs if you dont have a final weight and cog
>>
>>27834918
If you genuinely believe this you are about as retarded as they come.

-The splitter is probably the most functional bit of aero here but is clearly just a piece of sheetmetal with a rubber strip around the edge. It'll wobble and bend and stop working very quickly
-The "stepladder" canards as I will call them do literally nothing but add drag
-The cutout at the front of the wheelarch, ie. removing the bodywork has done nothing but trap air and make the car much draggier
-The slotted vents in the bonnet do nothing but add drag, the angle is so steep that they don't even help the airstream pull out air from the engine bay
-The removal of the rear window means that the turbulence behind the cockpit is significant and that neatly feeds into the fact the """""wing"""""" is obscured too much. It won't do much. This wouldn't be such a big deal with the rear window there but alas, it's not
-The strakes on the back are just that, strakes. The pic in >>27834055 clearly shows it's not a diffuser at all

The whole thing is absolutely fucking retarded from an aero standpoint and was neither "engineered" or in any way designed with function in mind.

All that being said I still think it looks hella cool

yeah its clearly a for looks car.
the bodywork is just a visual deal, it isnt serious.
just like how pikes peak isnt serious, you got cars with zero aero btfoing a ton of legendary 90s-early00s legitimate full aero hillclimb cars.
fuck even teslas are setting stupid times.

whenever I think of a homemade racecar, I always look back to the one that jeet made. it doesnt matter how perfect his design is, what matters is his process. if you are not putting in the exact same amount of engineering work (or more), then your build is very likely to be bullshit.
>>
>>27839277
>fuck even teslas are setting stupid times.
Well, yeah. As lame as I think electric cars are generally, Teslas are very fast. Electric motors have max torque from 0 rpm to max, and you don't have to worry about changing air density like ICE engines do on Pikes Peak.
