>replace power steering pump, rack, belt
>fluid low, pump whines, steering a little heavy
>take it in, they just top off the fluid
>steering is really light and nice
>months later
>check ps reservoir
>it's low again
>realize steering has slowly gotten heavier
what the fuck could be leaking at this point/ i don't even really see anything. if i had to guess the pump is slowly seeping, it was remanufactured.
i think i'm just gonna top off the fluid every few months for a while, i've been chasing this power steering shit since last year. fuck it

Depending on your shitbox, you can just look at your pump to see if it’s seeping and covered in oil, if it’s in an accessible spot. At least on my Honda shitbox, the pump is clearly visible, and leaks occur where the high and low pressure lines feed into the pump. Otherwise, if everything else is fine, it must be the lines. To check if the rack is leaking, check the tie rod boots or just get under your car.
>i don't even really see anything
Are you a child? The oil’s got to go somewhere, look harder.
If it does turn out to be the pump, remanufacturing the pump should be a cheap diy job, it’s literally just changing out rubber seals.

>closed hydraulic system
>what could be leaking?
This is literally the easiest thing to diagnose on a car
>pro-tip: it's the rack, hose, pump, or reservoir
