There are, dummy. It's just pointless for normie masses that use their cars for main purpose of convenient, safe, and secure transportation.

All bikes are naked when you compare them to cars
>>
>>28069440
a naked bike is more akin to a car without bumpers than to a car without a body.

I think it's a design from popular mechanics in th 60s, so a homebuilt. Ask Greased Geese in /classic car general/, he's posted about them before. It's a dune buggy/ cruiser IIRC.
>>
>>28069440
Cars have to pass a lot more regulations than bikes. Most of the homebuilt "naked" cars itt won't pass a safety inspection and some won't even be allowed on tracks depending on the organiser.
>>
>>28070435
Thanks, it's a shitbox Locost with a GSXR engine in it. Don't have any more pictures of it with the cowlings off, but I drove it like that for a while while I was doing fiberglass work on the nose cone. It's a ton of fun.
>>28070464
>safety inspection
Sounds gay, all you need here is turn signals, headlights, and brake lights to get registered.
As long you can pass tech and have wheel covers, you really don't have issues at the track. Open wheel insurance is expensive, so many casual track day organizers don't pay for it and won't permit anything without wheel covers. IIRC as long as there are >=3 points of fixture and it covers at least 45° of the wheel circumference, it counts as a fender at most events and isn't considered open wheel anymore. I've got a detachable set of fenders to throw on for track days and haven't had any issues at the 2 tracks I've taken it to. Those were just open HPDE days though.

overshadowed by manx clones and vw rail buggies, the water pumper buggies were actually evolved around the same time and in the same fashion as the original dragsters.
they were just passenger cars stripped bare, usually reinforced and safety hooped using some water pipe and scrap iron.
as they evolved they began to resemble front engine dragsters exept with high float or paddle tires on the back.
because of the popularity of the RR vw kit cars they eventually were overshadowed but in my opinion they're simply not as cool.

It's too based for normalfags to understand
>>
>>28071623
one of the more distinctive features of the competetive ones are that the engine is sat atleast halfway back in the frame and the seats are at or behind the rear axel causing it to have an extreme rear weight bias.
I want to build one because I want to do wheelies on the interstate to scare the fuck out of normalfags.
>>
>>28071634
here are some modern front engine buggies,
personally I do not like the full-cage.
>>
>>28070432
oh also if you look up oldschool buggies facebook page they have a giant collection of pictures of these.
I probably saved half of them

The whole point of a car is that it's enclosed. If you want an open air deathtrap a bike is over 9000x more fun, cheaper, and easier to store.
>>
>>28074717
if a bike is more fun than this i will immediately kill myself because there is no joy left for me.

A car is ultimately always going to be something you're SITTING IN. A bike, once you really get a feel for it, becomes an extension of your body.

Bike may not be more fun than Lamborghini. If it was, why would people buy Lamborghini for 15x more money?
