I don't understand how are they in financial trouble since they've got multiple models in the top 10 most sold cars in recent years. Are they selling at a deficit or is it just corporate greed?

Their margin per vehicle hasn't been very good. They have to keep investing a good chunk of that to stay in the game; they won't be able to afford that if their operating costs keep increasing they way they have been.

The economic situation of Volkswagen is dire, last year they just had $19.6 billion net profit, just one billion more than Stellaris! It's clear that the share holders deserve more than that...

dumbasses shouldve kept the philosophy of reliable and great built cars, they could compete with toyotas and would probably outsell them in mainland europe. toyotas are tincans with rattling interiors, VW solved that problem already in ~90s. now they downgraded interiors, had shit engines in some period of time and now offer bullshit cars for huge price. i still cant comprehend how could someone drop 30-40k euros for a brand new golf. considering how they make everything in-house it shouldve kept prices low, somehow its other way around. obviously america fucked them hard with dieselgate.

The US market alone is larger than every market where the Hilux is sold.
>>
>>28071284
Because due to california it's almost impossible to get a hilux in the states.
