Is Greyhound salvageable? If someone took it over and cared about intra city bus transportation could it be good?

You’d have to gut the entire company and start over as it’s super fucked
>>
I have a car and never ship greyhound. What's going on?

Stop polluting the board with these basic bitch generic threads. Thanks!

>Is Greyhound salvageable?
This would be better posted on /n/ where they talk about transportation.
>>
Nice digits but we take planes in this country
Busses and trains for traveling are just for fun
>>
>>28071488
If we lived in an all white society maybe. The buss is just a filthy cesspool of brown people who can't shower or speak English.
>>
>>28071488
Checked.

>>28071538
Public transportation is all down to this.
>>
>>28071530
If they brought back the Scenicruiser as it were, that would be the only way to salvage Greyhound. Instead it's become Shitskin Lines, Inc.™
>>
>>28071488
It would be super neato if Greyhound operated in conjunction with Amtrak. You know like have a fucking bus stop at Amtrak stations. Or maybe just a small shuttle to the nearest Greyhound station.
>>
>>28071488
interesting thread
shit has been fucked up here in Canada since greyhound died. lots of routes are unbussable now
>>
>>28071488
I took a three day trip via Greyhound once when I was younger, and by the morning of the second day I was already contemplating suicide.

The only people who take long distance bus trips are the kind of people who cannot afford air travel. I would literally rather fly a redeye 9-11 Airlines flight stuck between two fat guys in coach on a Boeing 737 MAX piloted by a borderline retarded DEI hire Sha'Ni'qua amd co-piloted by a 31 year old depressed suicidal poo in loo after getting randomly selected to have my lower intestines explored by a fat balding middle aged TSA agent whose wife just left him and now he's gonna take it out on everyone he meets than EVER take another Greyhound bus again.
>>
>>28071530
I bump OP. Idk what’s going on but what kid hasn’t noticed a greyhound bus? It’s like part of automobile americana.
>>
>>28071537
i still want to take a train complete with rooms and fine dining. its been romanticized so much in media.
>>
Do Greyhounds have any employees on board other than the driver? Seems like a lot to handle for one person.

Nope and checked. Trains maybe, but the bus is absolutely shit-tier in every respect and thoroughly mogged even by Amtrak.

>>28071538
To be fair that's all public transport these days lmao.

>>28072164
Not even people who can't afford airfare, people who can't afford the train. Amtrak isn't bad (although it's declined since Covid) for certain trips and it's generally pretty cheap.
>>

Amtrak >>>>>> greyhound

I took one 20 years ago because I was broke. Not only did it take me almost 2 days to travel what would’ve been 8 hours in a car, I felt like I was going to get murdered/robbed the entire time.
Would be a fun adventure 100 years ago, but not now.
>>
>>28075148
Bonus points: The WoW guildie qt I went to meet ending up being fat and had a soi husband. Super awkward trip.
>0/10, do not recommend

>>28075153
I married my WoW waifu, this guy showed up to serve as a fluffer!
>>
It wasn't THAT bad years ago .I rode it twice when I was younger because I was broke. Most everyone on there kept to themselves. I dealt with some characters but I never really felt threatened. Met this older white dude and we made sure no one stole our shit. Wouldn't take one nowadays though .. I imagine it's way worse.
>>
>>28075142
Jesus greyhound must be fucking dog shit if that's the case
>>
>>28075413
Their pricing sucks doodoo ass. I had to go pick up a car in another city a few weeks ago and I took the Amtrak because their ticket price was a whopping $10 when greyhound wanted nearly fuckin $40. The train has a smoother ride and obviously can't suffer from any unforeseen traffic issues either.
>>
>>28075142
Amtrak literally can't even take you to half the country. You can't even take amtrak from one side of my state to the middle of the state, that's how shitty amtrak coverage is. If I want to go from biggest city in state to second biggest city in state I cannot take the train.

>NYC to LA in a fucking bus
Kill me.
>>
>>28071488
Growing up, we lived close to a major city and it was the best way to get in/out of the city in terms of cost, convenience, and timeliness. For about $10 (at the time) the busses arrived on time, it was roughly only ~90min trip (dependent on traffic), they didn't care about how much luggage you had, and you never had to worry about parking. If we needed to get around the city, we just took the metro system.
