Got the old rack and pinion out on the tsxNow time to try and get the new one in, rebuild PS pump, flush, and bleed
New rack inSo much easier than removal
>drive old civic in forza >think it’s the best driving car in the entire game >try '92 nsx >it’s just as kinogoddamn old Hondas are legit
you guys buy brand "new" milwaukee and icon tools from fb marketplace? i swear they stolen to be selling so cheap especially in the Seattle area.
>>28076498They most likely are. I know some amazon sellers got busted a while back for selling 100s of thousands of stolen tools
Cant decide if this is a different color or not 1st pic angle is really throwing me off
>>28075849Don't draw police attention. Move the car every night.>>28076688it is. low-quality aftermarket replacement bumper
To the hiveminded gay retards who told me 2003-2004 CM accords cant be tuned without a 2005MY ECU - KISS MY FUCKING DICK NIGGER.Just pushed 5 points of timing and +30% fuel on my CM to run E85 without paying K(ike)Tuner a fucking CENT.chipfag is BACK bayBEE, Funny pictures soon, got a k20z3 in the mail. High revving automatic CM doing 60 in 1st sooooon
>>28077178>k20z3Shit Anon, you're gonna lose a shit ton of torque, part of the draw of the CM is torquing around at low rpm
2026 needs to hurry up
>>28077191>ai slop
>>28077189K20s doing absofuckinglutely nothing until you rev the tits off it and hit at least 4k is half the fun of owning them. Just second gear rev bombs all day long and shifts into third for the burbles.
>>28077178>High revving automatic CM doing 60 in 1st sooooonbut thats retarded
>>28077428That's my concern with it, CM is not for rev, it's actually pretty revvy for something that's a large economy cruiser at 6200 rpm on the shifts, 6500 if you manually shift it without really gaining anything, save the CM for daily driving and road trips where it really shines.
>>28076248I am in Australia and I would like to buy a Honda Jazz 2nd generation. I would like an automatic and I think the 1.5 liter engine would be a good idea because the only criticism I ever see against this car is that the 1.3 liter engine is not powerful enough.I would prefer yellow or red
>>28077828Hello yes this is craigslist where you buy cars not a khazakstani watchmaking forum
These fittings are so fucking hard to torque down because of the shift cablesAutomatic bros stay winning
>>28077963I wish we were winning, an automatic CM Accord's shift lever is cable operated too, and we can't even clutch drop start it if the battery is weak or the starter is dead like manualbros.
>>28077968Are there two that are that bulky and stiff? Didn't know it wasn't all electronic and automagic, but you guys got real cable throttles tooI do like our electronic throttle after customizing the settings on the hondata tho
>>28077972Yeah the 2003-2005 CM K24 were the only ones with cable throttle, it's the best throttle response you can get in a non tuned daily car, it doesn't turn into a beast at 6000 rpm like the K24A2, but at low RPMs around town the cars run the same which is cool
>>28077978I've looked at pictures of automatic TSX being worked on, and the shift lever is only one big cable, and it's the same as a CM Accord.
>>28077981That would make a differenceIf i was smart i would have taken the airbox off and detached the cables, but i love to suffer
>>28077988>but i love to sufferIt's not your fault Anon, Honda is the one who built the car in such a way that it makes sense to drop the subframe if you want this shit done in one day, same thing if you see an automatic car seeping oil or transmission fluid on the transmission side of the motor, you know you're in need of a subframe-out job to fix that rear main and torque converter seal, luckily it's a rare occurrence unlike blown steering rack but it happens.
>>28077995My setup is pretty minimalist so i thought it would make more sense to do it this way.Live and learn
>>28078005At least you've got a setup, I paid basically $1800 adjusted for inflation to do a steering rack job in 2019
>>28078008I'm about 320 altogether for the job so if it works I'll be happy enough. Also made 3 custom tools for the job lol
>>28078018Based, you do what you gotta do to work on this shit lol
>>28078027That bolt crack is going to register on the richter scale
>>28078032It was a very satisfying crack, I heard so much banging when my CM was having crank seal done but turned out you really had to knock it loose.
Finally done and just have to flush and bleed and attach outer tie rods lol
idk what tires to get for 15" wheels. should i go 190/50r15, 195/55r15, 205/50r15? preferably a/s because pnw weather.https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=195%2F&ratio=55&diameter=15
>>28078454The 205/50 has some serious looking rubber. Not too many all season options thoughWould love to rip on these. What is the stock size?
>>28078470oem spec for gsr fat fives are 195/55r15. i wanna put them on my ek. ek oem spec size is 185/65r14.
https://www.michelinman.com/auto/tires/michelin-defender-t-plus-hwonder how the car would drive with these sizes.
My ep3.

>>28078899How did a whale get beached on your car?Hope insurance deals with it no problem
tires so limited below 16". how are kumho tires? probably gonna go with their pa31.
>>28079385Get sumitomo HTR A/S or their Falken Ziex ZE960 counterpart, best shitbox tires in the game, and they last.
anybody tried these tail lights gasket or stick with oem?
>>28079423195/65r15 or 205/65r15 would be perfectly fine on a ek?
>>28079500There were the vredestein quatrac 5 on your 205/50 sizeWere you looking at the ecsta tires in the same size? I'd go the vredestein over that, price was similar enough.
>>28079500I'm running 195/65/15 on a CM Accord and it's fine, I have 6.5 inch steelies on a large car so 205/65/15 is also acceptable, if you're on a 6 inch wheel, 195/65/15 is big as I would go on a little car, if you're into performance tires, you can get a smaller sidewall like 205/50/15 or 195/50/15, I don't know how wide your wheels are but there are summer tires that exist for little shitbox cars like EK Civics and Miatas, I could even do it on my CM Accord, but the car weighs too much.
I will have a Honda Jazz by the end of the monthI saw a few when I went into town recently, the 2nd gen looks so good and modern, even 15 years later
>>28079528That's based Anon, L15A engine is good.
>>28079509yeah wheels are 15x6. guess i could go with 195/60r15 michelin? throw them in the truck and bring it to costco when they have a sale going on.
>>28079544Yeah Anon, whatever you want that's a 195mm tire will go right on those wheels.
Fluid is coming out clean. Just need to bleed it and we're good
>>28079588Based fluid extractor, your power steering pump looks so much better than my black painted reman unit, they both work but the engine bay looks better and more OEM like than mine, you shouldn't have any more issues from here on as long as you do a suck and fill of the power steering reservoir about as often as you do transmission fluid, my CM will get a drain and fill every year and I evac and pour fresh fluid in right after I pick it up from the stealership, no problems for years now, its dirty fluid that destroys seals, and power steering fluid is so easy to ignore.
>>28079598I was going to reseal my oem one, but i stripped out a bolt holding it together. Decided fuck it and bought a new one, wasn't going to risk using the old one and blowing this new rack after how much of a bitch it was lol
>>28079619>but i stripped out a bolt holding it togetherThose things are so impossibly tightly assembled, that I don't even know how people reman them in the first place, I tried taking a ratchet to a core I had taken off to see how it worked internally, and I couldn't even get them to turn, you probably need an air gun to get that shit apart, it's amazing how that shitty little pump, lines, and steering rack can handle the 1,500 psi day after day, turning the wheels of these heavy ass cars and not blow apart immediately, but leak some fluid when they're 15+ years old and still technically work.
>>28079626Yeah i didn't have a 10mm hex socket for my impact and didn't have any luck with a handheld shitty harbor freight hex key 200 dollar idiot tax, i should have bought the socket for 5 dollars
>>28079640It's pretty shocking how all the tools and effort it costs to even take it apart, and cardone will sell me a reman pump for K24 Accord/TSX for like $60, that's why I just tell guys to buy reman pumps, rack and pinions, starters, alternators from online or the store and have it installed same day with no drama, because it just isn't worth it to even bother re-sealing this with your precious time on this earth and money in tools when you can just exchange the core and get a reman.
>>28078899Based torta lover
And she is holding steady at 20 inhg (-20inhg?) >>28079646I just like to diy shit. I had to give it a shot. The reseal kit was only 23 dollars which I'll return now
The tsx is on the ground and drivingNew pump i bought is noisy, cheap duralast shit so I'm going to return it and try again, but I'm thrilled right now.
>>28079941That's based, at least the rack's not leaking, a pump re-do isn't a big deal.
>>28079947Not a big deal at all. A problem for tomorrow I've had enough for today
>>28079950Kek I'd want to take a week off after such a job.
>>28079954Tempting, but i want things to be perfect. After doing the vtec oil switch and gaskets plus all this. Plus it's starting to get cold here so the sooner the better
knowing what you guys know now about cars, what would you do if you got transported back to the late 90's-early 00's? I would buy NSX's when they were around $22k and lock them in storage. and probably get a crx lol.
>>28080311buy bitcoin. all of them
QRD on the Honda Ridgeland? I know people say it's not a 'real truck', but I just want to tow motorcycles, quads, and maybe a side-by-side. Seems like enough truck for me.
>>28080338Pretty weak payload but more than enough to tow anything like you're talking about. They aren't bad at all if you can get over the looks
>>28080338it's a pilot with a truck bed. it's fine for city stuff like hauling furniture and backyard stuff. backseat is good for sex too.
>>28076277I wish we had the euro r or tsx without the sunroof
Im gonna do what it takes to get this golf cart. Eventually might leave my damn state and go pick it up myself lol if no luck with FB marketplace
>>28080550i want one too. clean one are about $5k
Hondy bros, excellent news!
>>28077189>Shit Anon, you're gonna lose a shit ton of torquewhich is good for the automatic. i can make that up with stupid power mods, make big boy hp and still not break factory torque>>28077428>but that's retardedi am a retard, i need a retarded car. i could always throw a shorter transmission from a CRV or something in it to get a nicer 0-60, but this fucktarded build is meant for speeding on the interstate.
>>28077178Cool to be able to do that. Too bad my brain is swiss cheese and i have to pay to play with the ecu
>>28080664>rent a girlfriendFuck off with that slop
Lets see if it works this time. I think i know why the last pump shit the bed instantly (besides being cheap) i think i did something wrong while bleeding. I spun thr pulley with an electric ratchet instead of turning the wheel lolOh well. Autozone exchanged it no question
I want to buy an Integra Type S. Is that a bad idea?
I want to put the perrin inserts on my fk8's motor mountbut I'm also lazy. the struggle.
>>28081940It's not that difficult pulling the mount out. just set aside a couple hours.
Why won't they sell Acuras in the UK
>>28082173You guys got the Accord Euros that revved high and looked like our Acuras, you guys didn't miss out, and Acura is an brand where Honda sells their high performance, precision crafted stuff, a regular Honda Accord is actually quite lame outside of Europe and Asia, low compression, no revs.
>>28076248Just washed 1800 miles of bugs off my car. Feels good man
>>28082313Stay clean, FK7 Anon.
>>28082313i really wanted that color for my fk8. but the stars didn't align. it's so nice.
>>28076248What is the most underrated Honda and why is it the B16 Del Sol?
I really like the car, but I'm guessing a Fit/Jazz isn't a good 'fit' for somebody that lives rural in an area that gets extreme snowfall over the winter?
>>28081688Its good, fag
>>28082493The only thing that I can see being a problem is that it's relatively low. Give it a slight lift and some winter tires and you should be good
>>28082529Damn, looks sick with the lift. Sadly I'm not at that mechanical level.
>goes to change headlights bulbs>plug socket thing is filled with grease on both sideswtf? is this supposed to be normal?
>>28082529>mavericklmao>lifted fit lmao>hideous suburban mid-Michigan houselmaogb2 /reddit/
>>28083171Kys city slicker
>>28083139They greased it because the bulb socket and connector can get corroded together. I never do it, but if it's there leave it
How do you feel about si envy?>omg look at my R series economy engine
>>28083341It's give and take, economy versions of the K series and R engine can run cheaper gas with their low compression and do get better mileage, they're also tuned to make more torque at the low end than the top end.
>>28083341better than buying fake si badges and red honda logos, just latinx things, like having a huge honda decal across your windshield.
>>28083449Fuck yeah brother
worth having a winter and summer set of tires for a shitbox that's not a daily driver? i already have two sets of wheels.
>>28083449>>28083985i seen a mexican earlier with a honda windshield decal on a newer civic kek
>>28083987I wouldn't take my fun car or toy out in the snow.
>>28083991it doesn't really snow. just gets really cold and rainy sometimes below 40f. supposedly you shouldn't drive with summer tires in those weather.
>>28084044Summer tires may not work well, but a good high performance all season tire with M+S rating will suffice in light snow or freezing rain, I've driven my shitbox in 35F with snow on the ground with all seasons and it's fine, so a second set of tires that are all seasons, not quite a super soft snow tire, and are made to work at lower temperatures and can be driven when it's warm are a good idea
why does my civic like "thump" like i just dumped the clutch when i hit about 7k rpm? is there a limiter or something? i always pull off the throttle when it does it so idk if i could push it past 7k.
>>28084914Lel that's the fuel cut rev limiter of the ECU, my 2.4L shakes like a son of a bitch of you bounce it off the 6500 rpm fuel cut off.
>>28085026seems pretty low. mine is a 1.8l ex.
>99 accord>had a steering pump rebuild right before i bought it a few months ago>steering pump leaks >steering rack leaks>ps reservoir leaks sigh
is it better to motor swap a k24 yourself or have a shop do it? estimated cost of both?
Is the 1.3l honda jazz/fit ok?1.5l is hard to get in my current budget. I'd only need it for 3 years, I'm in university as a mature age student.
How do I cope with every single panel rattling in my 10 year old civic? I know you are paying for the powertrain but its getting out of hand
>>28085380Get a roll of electrical tape and put some between whatever is rattling. A door card takes like 20 minutes to remove, tape around, and reinstall. The only tricky thing is undoing the cable that actuates the locks, pic related
>>28085330Swap into what? Is there already a kit for adapters for engine/trans mounts? You can get a junkyard k24 for probably 600 dollars (last engine i bought from a pick n pull was 550). That is before mounting and ecu solutions.
>>28085330I wouldn't bother if you're debating paying people to do work on a car and it's not maintenance on your daily, a K24 swap is a project car that you should be building yourself otherwise you're gonna spend ridiculous amounts of money when you could just buy a K24 Civic or an Accord and have a car that works.
how much would I regret getting a late 2000s civic instead of an accord?
>>28086332Civics are single overhead cam if it's not an Si model, at least with something like a 2003-2012 Accord, you get a double wishbone cruiser with a DOHC 2.4L engine in the most base model ones.

>>28088155exactly. And from what I know, you can pretty much get the new brz's/86's at MSRP all day...fucking honda tax
>>28088169The newer 2.4L GT86 bodies are such a guilty pleasure of mine, a torquey RWD coupe with a manual that you can daily drive is something Honda just never gave us, if I were in the market for a "car guy" car, the GR86 is my choice over Miata and Honda offerings because the car is also fucking beautiful, I just hope I get to a point where I could afford a used one before it turns into a Nissan S13 situation where there's just none left.
>>28076277I really want a spoiler for mine at some point. Not sure which one, though. Had to order a new right rear caliper. Seems like the piston is seizing up and it ruined the pads and rotor. It compresses but takes quite a bit of effort. Much easier for the other side.

How's the 10th gen civic? The engines seem kinda underpowered. The type r has the perfect engine but goddamn is it overpriced.
>>28089661I think the base model 2.0L port injected non turbo cars were based as shit as a daily, I seriously considered trading in my CM for a brand new $21,000 Civic LX over spending a couple thousand fixing it in 2018-2019, the only thing stopping me was that it didn't seem responsible to be working two jobs to pay for a Civic when I already had a car.
>>28089669Sadly we only get the 1.8L here. Is there much difference?

The YouTubers making CM air filter tutorials telling people to bend the intake hose at an ungodly angle so it breaks are retarded, you can just disconnect the valve cover breather thing, push the hose towards the engine which feels more natural than bending the joint and just lift the air cleaner cover off to drop a new filter in without causing a vacuum leak.
>>28092216I do the same thing and never had an issue. You really don't need to bend it much to snake the old filter out and get the new in
>>28092221I did the same thing first as well, but you and I aren't heavy handed, these tutorials I'm seeing, guys are bending that stupid hose at basically 90 degrees , and your average CM owner who wants to get into doing stuff on their car might see that and cause a vacuum leak for themselves.

>>28094172Hondas are reliable, the owners are often not, they go and buy an Accord because reliability, it gets to about 150K miles or more of them not maintaining shit and then there's engine and transmission problems, it's no different with toyota, those guys with several hundred thousand miles on their car are maintaining the fuck out of the fluids and doing what's necessary to keep it going, the people who buy Corollas new and don't do the services correctly are gonna run into issues with the engine such as oil consumption as well
>>28087018You figure out what wheels to get for all-season tires, or are you one of those fags who can get away with the stock 4S? Also, nice color choice fag. This is actually a question for all the CTR fags - what wheels, where to get them outside of specialty stores or do I have to actually think and find a wheel / tire combo.P.S. The clutch in the 8th gen Si is way better and the shifter isn't any worse.>>28087667They went down to $2,000 over real quick. Like immediately. I would have walked away with an Si if it was an MSRP. You genuinely don't need a Type R is what I realized.Honestly, the Toyobaru is probably the best bet for driving experience, these things are fuck-hueg.>>28094172If you are getting a <$10,000 one, it's all about how it was maintained / what was done to it. Maybe get one from someone here. You will either get a nice car or they will rape you. >>28082313How wash? I literally washed the Si with Dawn dishwash fluid, but then I stopped washing it.>>28093281I didn't believe it until I tried it. Now I absolutely do. >>28094279>what wheels, where to get them outside of specialty stores or do I have to actually think and find a wheel / tire combo.I looked at combos on fitment industries and then actually bought from tirerack. When in doubt pilot sport 4's. I run 245/45/18 currently with +45 offset. The ride quality is softer but 20's on the FK8 are definitely better for performance driving. Im broke though so I cant afford to replace those tires. I had like 3 sidewall tears and I've only had the car for a year. >Plus no overly-rough ride, shitty mpgDont get me wrong I love the type R but the type R tax on everything got old really quick. The shitty ride was fixed with 18's and the mpg isnt too bad since gas here is like 3.20 for 93
Test drove a CRZ today, really felt the road a lot more than I do in my Accord. Man was it noisy too.Excellent brakes and handling though.
>>28094987Maybe in a year I'll find someone selling stock fl5 wheels. There's always a fuckboy who buys a new car and buys new wheels asap. The 20's are killing me. I want to stick as close as possible to +60 offset...
2025 Civic looks nice, except the side profile is goofy as hell. How do we feel about the hybrid? Is it the ultimate ecobox now?

My 2016 lx is making only 27mph, that feels too low for a civic. Is this the fuel pump issue people were talking about at play?
>>28094987You are saying that way more casually than I would expect! Did you have the sidewall tears on the stock tires or the ones on the 18s? That's scary as fuck unless I am misunderstanding- that's basically a blow out, right?>>28095415Could be anything from bad o2/maf/map to failing injectors, fuel rail issues, fuel pressure regulator, compression issues, etc. Doubt anyone could tell you without looking at the cars.
>>28095489The sidewall tears were on the pilot sport 4's yeah but thats because the sidewall is pretty much non existent. The blow out wasnt dramatic IE heard pop but the tire didn't fly off the wheel or anything. First was from a week after going home from the dealership, apparently the tire was so low that it just gave out while highway driving. My own fault for not checking it and holding dealer responsible. Second time was on fresh tires but my mom lives in the middle of no where down a dirt road and so when I went there the dried up river bed I had to cross had a sharp rock that tore the inner sidewall. Third time was me miscounting and it never actually happened lmao. The 18's I currently have are Continental Control contact sports srs+ (because im in college) and they are fine but I definitely prefer the pilot sports. I had the PS4's on my Fk7 and I never had any sidewall tears even when driving on that fucked up dirt road. The side wall is a lot beefier. The set up I have right now keeps the ride height the same so no issues with clearance or rubbing.
>>28096048Alright, that makes me less worried, was afraid it was just out of nowhere. I am going to run Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 on the stock FL5 19s for the winter.Your car looks great, I was driving a green Hyundai Accent in college and then a $1500 (literally) Integra for a bit.
>>28097014I'm a bit of an older dude for college standards so thats why I have the Type R. I tend to run summer tires year round because texas allows it.Trying to keep the car looking mostly stock which is why im unsure if I should put the morimotos back on

Looking for some advice on buying a used car in Canada. Been car hunting and landed on 2 to choose between.First one being a 2007 Honda Civic DX-G, It's got 173K mileage on it, Exterior and Interior are clean and fine but with 2 dots of rust on the exterior, has all season tires and comes with 4 winter tires with rims and both being Michelin branded (Forgot to check their dates), and a history of the previous owner bringing it in to Honda for maintenance. I also got to test drive and it drove really well. The price we got with tax and certification was $7263The second is a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L. It's got 178K mileage on it, Alloy rims, a V6 engine, Tan Leather interior with wood trim, and only one dot of rust on the exterior. The Leather seats cracking mainly in the front however but the dealer said he can redo it for an extra $150. I also never got to test drive it as it was surround by all the other vehicles parked at the dealership, but my father offered to head back there and test drive it to see if there were an issues. The price with tax, certification, and fixing the leather seats is $7150.Which one should I go for, keep in mind I don't drive a lot or have a garage. Pic rel is the Civic, I don't have a pic of the accord since the dealer only recently got it and hasn't put it up online yet.
>>28100213what the fuck just get an E30 or E39 already
>>28100216With VANOS? More like VANGROSS
>>28100213Does the accord have maintenance records? They're both coming close to timing belt change intervals, you should inspect both belts if possible especially one with less recorded maintenance
>>28100254I don't know about the accord, from the info we saw it had no accidents. I can try calling and checking again.
>>28100254Only the v6 accords have a timing belt, don’t know about the civic. I know because I’m selling a 140k mile 2007 exl v6 accord for less than the dealer, but I’m closer to Texas.
>>28100286Yeah 07 Civic is a timing chain, if the anon was looking at a 2.4L Accord vs a Civic, I would suggest the 2.4L Accord all day.
>>28100286>>28100291It's a V6 accord, gonna head in when I don't have work to test drive it myself but my father claimed it drove really nicely, also gonna try and get a maintenance record. Also i just checked and turns out both sets of the tires on the Civic are from 2015.
>>28100303>both sets of the tires on the Civic are from 2015.That actually is really concerning, I wouldn't drive a car on tires more than 5 years old, and that could also mean people have not been taking care of this thing, look at it with a good eye, and you can't go wrong with a nice driving Accord V6 either.
>>28100307>that could also mean people have not been taking care of this thingWhich is odd cause they have paper work showing that they've been consistently bringing it in to Honda for maintenance so that seems very weird that the tires would be neglected.
>>28100316People are funny that way, but if they have been doing fluids and filters on a Civic, that is a good thing and it could be a car worth buying and then immediately buying a set of tires and alignment for.
>>28100323Having to buy 2 new sets of tires really jacks up the price of the Civic then and just makes the Accord seem cheaper with only needing to buy 1 set of winter tires for it.
>>28100291Isn't the canadian dx civic an r18? Not a k?And the accord he said was a j
>>28100338If the Accord is better sorted with good tires on it an is cheaper, and leather with a V6, it might be the right play, I have the slow ass 4 cylinder Accord with base cloth seats and it's a comfortable car, 268hp is kind of a beast.
>>28100307Eh. People forget about them. If they're not slipping in the rain or popping them no one cares.
>>28100430Kek normies will neglect tires until they fucking die Anon, they're like allergic to paying for a tire plus mount and balance, they don't give a fuck if it's wheel spinning and under steering immensely at 20mph in turns, if it holds air, they don't care.
>>28100216Every E30 deserves to be wrecked by yuro drift fuccbois and every E39 deserves to be scrapped with extreme prejudice
>>28100435Different Anon but you reminded me my tires were put on in 2019. It is about time for me to change them I guess.Whats the best all seasons for the lx 2016 civic now. Are pilot sports still the best.
changed the ps hydraulic reservoir and the fluid with genuine honda ps fluid on my 99 accord and all the PS leaks stopped

What is it about these lights that causes mexicans in civics to feel the need to furiously cut them off, only for me to go around them and hit them with the rockspray?
>>28076248I have good news. You may recall, I had what was arguably the most unreliable 11th Gen Accord out there. I have fixed all of the issues with the car and now it runs consistently with and without using the paddle shifters. Even the idle is better at 800 RPM with no vibration, as opposed to 600 and shaking like a leaf. There is some sun damage that I have noticed on the plastic fairing on the trunk (this Accord is a sport model, so it has the plastic body kit). I might not bother treating it for a while, but I will continue to wax the car. I live in Florida, so there is no winning against the sun.All is well at long last.

>>28103663Yeah, let me trust a stranger on the internet over the engineers designing my car. I will change my oil when the maintenance minder tells me to and not a mile earlier.
>>28104353It's your life bro, Honda only gives a fuck about their cars not having an issue for the 50,000 mile warranty, which it never does have an issue even when you do a 10,000 mile oil change interval, it's when the car has miles will you see an engine with frequent oil changes being in better shape, with less wear, sludge, oil varnish, less oil consumption, than an engine with 3000 mile oil intervals, it makes a big difference, the retard long oil change is only for people who lease Civics or Accords 36 months at a time and don't give a fuck about anything.
>>28104353blackstone analysis. let us know faget.
>>28104493The car is almost 20yo with oil changes done with the minder. >>28106053Based Crosstour, newer Accords not having a double wishbone suspension and a stupid 12.8-14.8 gal fuel tank on the hybrid or 1.5T cars instead of 17.1 gal is a real letdown.
Still having some power steering noise and no clue why. Going to warranty the power steering pump again lolI can't see any new leaks from the fitting and the orings are new honda ones. Might toss on some new aftermarket ones that came with the pump
>>28106104For some reason "brand new" Duralast power steering pumps on K series that look all nice and silvery tend to be shit, those cheaper black painted remans from the likes of Cardone and BBB Industries tend to be the ones that work out, I originally tried to put a new Duralast on my CM and the power steering was retardedly stiff and making noises because the pump just wouldn't flow well, and then when I got the reman one from BBB, the steering was fine and you could hear the sound of fluid pumping under the hood.Either that or air is getting into the system somehow and you'll have to go hunting with a UV light for fluid leaks, but I am suspicious of your power steering pump
>>28106111I did uv already and found a leaky fitting for the rack to return line, but i cleaned it off and put it back in and don't think it is leaking there anymore. No more glows at least.
>>28106115Based UV fluid, I was tripping about why the vatzone Honda PS fluid I buy was all green and shit, but they put dye in it to make leaks glow, glad your system isn't leaking, that's the hardest part of hydraulic steering on these things is making it not leak, if nothing is leaking, you might have a weak power steering pump that isn't flowing, which is a shame because the newly build silvery power steering pumps do have that awesome OEM look, but they are defective more than the shitty looking reman ones they sell for $60
>>28106121Hopefully third times the charm. If not I'll have to buy another one. Also ordered a new reservoir and the reservoir to pump feed hose. Eery other rubber hose is new, forgot to replace that one because it was a different size and i cut my own from.bulk hose.
>>28106127>Also ordered a new reservoir and the reservoir to pump feed hoseYou're a better owner than I am, I have new hoses on the reservoir but it's still the same resevoir, good luck with the pump, at least you don't go bankrupt like I do when cuckstomer supplied parts goes wrong at a shop and you're on the hook for a power steering pump job twice.

Wrenchlet here. Caught an oil leak from around the exhaust manifold on my crv. Shouldn't be from the vtec solenoid because I recently swapped that gasket out. What's the next likely culprit, the valve cover?
