Nissan stock fell 40% over the past year as well.

What happened to Nissan?
>>
nissan needs to get back in motorsports.
>>
too many manufacturers, they don't have a niche anymore

Looks like selling out to Renault wasn't a good idea after all.

But it worked so well for AMC!!!
>>
>>28090192
Widespread CVT adoption to a lineup that includes 300 HP 3.5 L engines rather than 70hp I3s has had its consequences on its reliability as a brand.

The Infiniti cars are very well built, and the trucks are great but they never got the Toyota reputation they deserve. There’s plenty of manual frontiers that made it to a million miles but we don’t soi face over them like we do that one tundra from 2008 or whatever.

Nissan needs re adopt the planetary automatic, Infiniti and RWD Nissan products have no wide reported transmission issues like the FWD parts bin Nissan cars.

Quality has been on the decline and their shit is outdated. Truthfully, they have some actually appealing options in their lineup right now. The nu pathfinder is a 9 speed instead of a CVT and the 3rd gen frontiers are garnering a niche but it's not enough. The grave they dug for themselves is far too deep.

Failure to innovate combined with a stranglehold of democrat regulation.

he is the reason nissan is doing poorly, and the company was hoing to shit after his cost cutting ran into the inevitability of having nowhere else to cost cut. Ghosen basically did what stellantis is managing to do in record time, but over. a10 year period
>>
>>28090635
Nissan was insolvent back in the '90s, before he took over.
Under him, the company had some decent sales successes throughout the years. While /o/ might hate them, both the Qashqai and the Juke were quite popular at launch. And he was supportive of Nissan selling sporty cars again (he greenlit both the 350 and the GTR).
>>
>>28090192
>What happened to Nissan?
Couldn't handle the fact that it's thanks to the french that they are still alive.
Had to tank both their dead company AND renault.

I thought the japanese were all about honour...
>>
>>28090602
cute
>>
I worked at a Nissan dealer in a major metro area. They managed to go out of business. At one point they were hemorrhaging $200,000+ a month due to lack of sales. It was weird seeing like 3 new general managers inside a year.
>>
Renault faggots should do a Mitsubishi Eclipse Revival a la Nissan 350Z and not that motherfucking Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, which still is an humiliation ritual fuck those french kikes

Kill the fucking NP300/Frontier/Navarra as it is, next generation make it a L200 instead of making the L200 more Nissan like.

Make a fucking Mirage RWD and sell it as and affordable MX5 killer.

Put Ralliart do its magic with a Mirage RWD/Eclipse (using Nissan Z platform) instead of just focusing L200 Ralliart.

I work at Mitsu, does faggots are being humiliated by Nissan HARD. I quit because I just couldnt' do SHIT.
>>
lmao
>>
I bought a Nissan Z nismo. Nice car but very overpriced compared to the Supra. I still enjoy it.
>>
>>28090935
>I thought the japanese were all about honour...
It's about pride, not honour. They thought it was shameful that a Japanese giant like Nissan would be under the thumb of the French. Hence why he got accused of a bunch of shit the jap executives were also doing.
All this and the fact they were still third to Toyota and Honda who were both fully japanese ran, which it's self is a pride killer.
>>
>>28090314

Because they are shit

What Nissan product would you ever recommend someone buy?

My dad was trying to get me to buy a Nissan SUV. So I did some research

https://youtu.be/HvDmZPWmRbQ?si=ZmX5t9ubYcl3Z2e7

Literally everything is wrong with this car. The transmission is bad the engine is bad the steering is bad the fit and finish is bad the comfort is bad.

They honestly make some of the ugliest worst cars ever made.
Mitsubishi went from being a great car manufacturer to making appliance cars. Nissan hasn't even managed that in just makes absolute shit.
>>
>>28090305
Kia actually makes reasonably good cars. I really wish they had some of the smaller cars available like the kia ray
>>
>>28095516

>>
>>28095520
What modern Nissan would you recommend?
>>
>>28095516
>What Nissan product would you ever recommend someone buy?

Frontier
Pathfinder
Armada

These have reliable engines and transmissions, and everything else about theme is pretty good or on-par with any other modern vehicle in the same price range.
>>
>>28090192
Nothing they make is really worth buying. Historically their brand image was making simple sturdy tractors that they then dress up with nice interiors, but they haven't been like that for 20 years. Now they're cut rate Toyota. Which, if they're going to do that, why not buy the Toyota?

It's more like China has caught up, having gathered enough know how from all those brands who sold out to them to make "good enough" cars themselves now. Chinese are buying domestic cars now and all those companies who told Euro and American markets to fuck off will now have to pay for their retardation.

My experience owning a Nissan
>own an 07 Murano
>paid for the transmission rebuild @ 100,000 miles before anything went wrong, cost approx $5k
>otherwise drove the vehicle with no significant mechanical or suspension issues for another 140,000 miles
>only work i had to do was replace the coils and the radiator after a tree branch cracked it
>got into two front end collisions, one of which ripped the bumper clean off
>also did a relatively large amount of driving over unpaved terrain and made several very long trips where i was averaging 100+mph for hours at a time
>also neglected oil changes by almost 50% of recommended mileage a couple times when money was tight
>also drove it for a long time with zero coolant because of a persistent leak and never saw any ill effects
>also forgot to re-attach some vacuum hoses after removing the plenum, ran it this way for almost 10k miles without any ill effect besides rough idle and occasionally choking (turning the motor on/off always fixed this)
Eventually the CVT did die but overall it was a rock solid vehicle that withstood abusive conditions well in excess of manufacturer testing, most of which was in the last 200,000 miles of it's operating life. I don't even think the deferred maintenance contributed significantly to the CVT shitting out, everyone I talked to said it was an inevitability and I was extremely lucky to have gotten as much out of mine as I did.

If I had taken better care of it or been better at wrenching I see no reason it wouldn't have cracked 300k. The interior even held up pretty well in spite of spending a large part of it's life in an extremely hot climate and spending zero days ever stored in a garage

Yeah, the chinks were quite clever in how they developed their auto industry. For those not familiar with this, first they slapped large tariffs on imported cars, and then when foreign companies wanted to assemble them in China to bypass the tariffs they required most of them to "partner" with a chinese company.

Bring back diesel Qashqais and Jukes for free Euro money. Work out the battery tech they had with the 30/40kWh Leaf and work it into an affordable Newer Leaf to compete. Sink the Ariya dead.
Nuclear strike on Renault HQ promptly afterwards
>>
>>28090217
i don't know if they even had a niche of their own exactly, in my mind they were like toyota, a big company making reliable transport and in japan both were going head to head with cutting edge technology, but that was only until 2000 and renault of course
>>
>>28101593
In parts of Yurop they're more like mom's shopping cart company, except real shopping carts probably last longer than whatever Renault shit they're building their Euro cuckovers on.
I don't think they even sell anything except CUVs here any more. Maybe the Leaf? Though it's so outdated now that it barely matters unless you want an EV project car for some reason.
>>

Upper management will gut the company and give them all million dollar bonuses then fuck off to another company to do the same thing.
>but why will other companies hire failures
Because they aren't failure they are millionaires and are hired to make upper management at other companies to do the same thing. Failures get fired by upper management.

Comparing it to the Honda CR-V EX model the Nissan is slightly cheaper with 10 more horsepower and no heated seats. Would rather have the Honda that includes heated seats and has better quality.
>>
>>28095519
Imagine an F-150 smashing into that.
>>
>>28096846
They went bankrupt in 1999 following the above business model. The market was just too small for them Toyota and Honda to compete in the same segment plus they made a few blunders - which I think was a shame. We like to blame ghosn a lot for turning Nissan into cut rate Toyota but without that Nissan wouldn't exist anymore
>>
>>28090192
Nissan's biggest problems are two things;

>Never updating their vehicles
Their cars are horribly outdated and they'll keep the same car design in production for 10-12 years; as a more blantant example the new Z is literally just a 350z with a bodykit and different engine and it shows.

>Letting their brand reputation turn into "poor people with bad credit buy Nissan"
The meme about altima's and maxima's being driven by retards and owned by people with 25% APR payments is a meme for a reason, nobody wants to be seen driving anything with a Nissan badge except the GTR (which given how stupid expensive it is now, most would rather buy a Porsche or other legitimate supercar for that much)
>>
>>28107580
The Maxima is actually a great car, you're thinking of Altimas and Sentras. Iirc the Maxima has a separate built CVT
>>
>>28090222
theyve split off some years ago mostly due to Ghosn case
>>
>>28097920
profits down

if your profits go from 5% of sales to 0,5% thsts a -90% drop in profitability but in reality equivalent to selling cars at 1000 dollars cheaper to shift units

As sad as it is, they have really dropped the ball on reliability on everything that isn't a truck or a sports/tuner car. Their CVTs have been so dogshit for years to the point that regular consumers don't trust Nissan anymore. They have done this to themselves and I fear that it may be too late for them to recover from the latest blows.
