My experience owning a Nissan>own an 07 Murano>paid for the transmission rebuild @ 100,000 miles before anything went wrong, cost approx $5k>otherwise drove the vehicle with no significant mechanical or suspension issues for another 140,000 miles>only work i had to do was replace the coils and the radiator after a tree branch cracked it >got into two front end collisions, one of which ripped the bumper clean off>also did a relatively large amount of driving over unpaved terrain and made several very long trips where i was averaging 100+mph for hours at a time>also neglected oil changes by almost 50% of recommended mileage a couple times when money was tight>also drove it for a long time with zero coolant because of a persistent leak and never saw any ill effects>also forgot to re-attach some vacuum hoses after removing the plenum, ran it this way for almost 10k miles without any ill effect besides rough idle and occasionally choking (turning the motor on/off always fixed this)Eventually the CVT did die but overall it was a rock solid vehicle that withstood abusive conditions well in excess of manufacturer testing, most of which was in the last 200,000 miles of it's operating life. I don't even think the deferred maintenance contributed significantly to the CVT shitting out, everyone I talked to said it was an inevitability and I was extremely lucky to have gotten as much out of mine as I did.If I had taken better care of it or been better at wrenching I see no reason it wouldn't have cracked 300k.
