It looks really pretty basic in retrospect, but it was futuristic and just plain cool when it came out. It had the aura of a no-nonsense supercar. It's especially true when you consider Lamborghinis are just Audi vehicles pretending to be Italian. At least the R8 is what it claims to be through and through.
