None of my friends like cars or motorsport. How do I make auto friends?
>>
You don't want to. Trust me.
>>
Go to a local autocross or drag strip test & tune night, don't have an embarassing riced car with anime stickers, and don't be afraid to approach people and start by asking non-cynical questions about others's cars. Don't bringing up your own unless they ask, it's irritating when some rando spouts autism salad about their own car and ignores everyone else (because they're nervous and don't know what else to say prob).
If you're in a bigger city there might still be hidden meets you can find if you cruise the strip looking for modded cars at like 9pm.

Live in the north so all that stuff is shut down. Def start looking in the spring. Are beginner track days good for meeting ppl? I have a local circuit like 10min away?

Yes, probably the best place to meet actual chill car guys. There's a lot of hanging around bullshitting in the "pit area" when the other class(es) are running. I had a track that did $250 full day open track days (I doubt they're still that cheap) and the people there were all chill and many had interesting projects.

Outside of anime cars are pretty much all cars welcome for days? I have a '22 CT4-v (not blackwing).

Oh yes. Though, mine was a rural track owned by a family that didn't even require a roll bar for convertibles so it might no be a good reflection of others. There's a Honda plant near the track and a Honda engineer brought a stripped-out Odyssey and kicked ass and was basically the coolest car that day. People bring accords and auto lexuses, whatever. As long as you're they're to have a good time everyone is cool with it.

In germany we got local motorsports clubs, like you have for other sports.
They organize Slalom (autocross), karting and road rallye events or join up for a proper regional rallye. Always looking for volunteers because they're mostly boomers, it's a great way to get an idea of what it takes to compete. Plus they're happy to give away all kinds of kit/parts/cars etc once you've become part of things
Back in the day these clubs would also make up the entire bottom half of a VLN or 24h grid, but these days you find them running cars in RCN or GLP

That was a big thing over COVID but not anymore sadly, local strip is saturated with police 24/7 now. These days street races are all organized over instagram, in the parts of the city where no cops go. Its not worth your time.

First post best post. Most car people are retarded rednecks so if you have any functioning brain cells, it's gonna hurt hanging out with them.
>>
Join a Classic Car Club. They are upscale enough where there is no ego enough and the base yearly income of owners makes it worthwhile for networking.

This was in 2011 so I don't think that model was out yet. Could be the same guy or people he worked with. Both of the Odysseys in picrel were stripped and modded.
