>new /o/ hates pickup now
wtf happened?
>>
It's just the popular thing and it's very cool and edgy to hate popular things.
>>
Because we realized that pickups are to men what crossovers/SUVs are to women
They let you sit high off the ground and establish a sense of superiority on the road when they can't get any of it in real life.
>>
Does it? In most of the threads I see, the opinion seems to be that buying anything else is retarded and the pickup truck is the best option
>>
>>28106427
>wtf happened?
99% of them will never be used for anything that a hatchback couldn't handle, the visibility is horrible on account of being pointlessly huge, and you'll pay out the ass to buy one and pay out the ass to keep it fueled. There's the odd few that are used as work trucks, and the rest of them are just the vehicle of choice for retards LARPing at being MANLY and TOUGH.
>>
>>28106567
>the visibility is horrible
Have you ever driven a truck? You're up high so your visibility is great. Also, good visibility through the mirrors and windows when trying to back in.
>>
>>28106569
You literally can't see anything for ten feet in front of you.
>>
>>28106427
I will not apologize for buying a v8 4x4 while they’re still making them.

Oh youre afraid of being seen as a soccer mom so you need a truck?
>>

>t. Lives in a basement and/or has more friends, probably doesn't go outside that much either
it is way easier to move shit with a bed. Furniture, camping equipment, bikes, skis, you fucking name it
You don't have to work construction to get regular use out of one
A regular 4x4 (american) full size is very useful
Eat shit and die in your shitbox faggot
>>
>>28106571
Like it's some kind of super short-farsightedness? Damn, I must have a super power, because I can certainly see things directly in front of me in a large truck or SUV.
>>
>>28106576
This reply confuses me. You have a problem with truggs but not full size suvs which are basically the same vehicles?
>>
>>28106582
>You have a problem with truggs but not full size suvs which are basically the same vehicles?
Oh no, I've got a problem with both. I don't like the presence of too many big cars on the roads.
But despite BOF 4x4 V8 SUVs being more practical than the equivalent truck for the average person, americans go out of their way to buy the trucks instead. The most selling vehicle models in america are trucks. Americans want to appear rugged and blue collar or something.
This is why i hate trucks, that fake masculinity.
If you just bought a Yukon that you dont actually need, then sure, its still an issue, but at least youre not larping as being rugged or masculine or something.
>>
>>28106589
>This is why i hate trucks, that fake masculinity.
The excessive buying is just a symptom of a larger problem.
>>
>>28106589
I get more use out of a pickup bed than I would of a third row

I just hate pickup trucks that try to look masculine and intimidating on the outside but have psuedo leather gamer seats with ball coolers and, in the case of Chevrolet, a gooch vibrator

I think everyone recognizes that trucks have gotten clownishly large. The 2025 Ranger is the same size as my 2012 single cab, 8’ bed F-150. And because of the changes to CAFE standards in the mid-2010’s, the bodies of trucks have ballooned like everything else, making them look even bigger. I’m a 6’ 1” lanklet and even I have trouble reaching into the bed of a modern full size truck.

There’s the price as well. The average full size sells for over $60k. No one is cruising around in a $37k Silverado WT or F-150 XL. No one wants a manually adjusted vinyl bench seat.

Pragmatism is obviously lacking with most trucks. The fuel mileage is terrible and parking can be a hassle. 1/3 of truck owners never haul anything and 2/3 never tow anything, so for a solid chunk of people it’s just a big, impractical commuter car.

Despite all of the failings, “I just like it” is still a valid reason for owning one. There’s no argument against that, other than to point out how retarded it is.

>that fake masculinity.
What you eurofags and yuppies dont understand is that there is no "fake masculinity" culture with trugs in the US. Most people grew up with their dad or grandpa having a truck so its just normal to them. Trucks arent some hyper masculinity symbol, they've essentially replaced the classic full size sedan. Which if you arent American this also probably wont make much sense, but american cars used to be big with small rims and big tires, decent ground clearance, you could drive over curbs and through ditches, potholes, etc. Sedans have become progressively less and less "heavy duty" pretty much relegated to driving on nice smooth paved roads. The modern truck combines all the comforts of a modern sedan, but you can still drive it over curbs or up rocky hills without worrying about damaging the unibody or ground clearance, plus you can use it to move big furniture, tow your boat/trailer, etc.
>>
>>28106427
I just don't like modern trucks because they're 100k luxury vehicles made for some fat meathead to lug around his 2ton family in. Real trucks that are cheap and reliable for the average guy to work out of just don't exist anymore. I think the only way to get a short cab long bed would be to find a fleet truck dealer or something.
>>
>>28106427
For me its the headlights. It seems like every new truck has those fucking bright as fuck LED lights that light up my car and make it hard for me to see at night.

All europoors do is complain. They have a crabs in the bucket mentality engrained in their culture.
>>
>>28106936
Plenty of yuppies in the south and midwest like trucks. Yuppies in liberal states like the west coast and northeast hate trucks for some reason. And eurofags hate trucks because eurofags are faggots lol!

1.3 million visitors per year to Glamis Sand Dunes.
That's 1 campsite.
In 1 Park.
In 1 state.

How many jet skis in the U.S.?
How many camper trailers?
How many hunters?
You only think trucks don't get used "as trucks" because you spend your free time in your parents basement while truck owners are out in forests and lakes with their trucks.
So of course you never see them being utilized. You only catch a glimpse of them on the freeway on your morning commute to your wagie job.

ITT: urbanite cope

>posts a modified lifted SUV
normal sedans do not have the ground clearance or suspension to do this, retard.

Apart from that forgot to mention - trucks are also one of the best options for ride comfort now a days. Most care and even many SUV's have larger diameter rims with low profile tires and "sports tuned" suspension which have garbage ride quality for people who don't care about track time larp. American sedans haven't truly been comfy for decades and trucks are a modern alternative

That SUV is unibody. The unibody will not be damaged by bashing it against rocks. You are retarded for even mentioning “damaging the unibody.” It is a non-issue; it doesn’t happen.
