Less traffic
Less women on the road, actually knowing how to drive
>>28106524My first car was a boat like that. (I'd driven Honda Civics and Hyundai's before it, but it was the first car I'd actually own). The best way to reverse is to use all of your mirrors AND put your foot into the firewall, your shoulder into the seat, and actually turn your body and head to look behind you.I see way too many people today reverse using only their mirrors. And women reversing without even looking, hitting shopping carts and shit.I was a cart pusher for a year. I could write a book on how bad women are at reversing.
>>28106694last saturday i went to the local auto store and this grand cherokee was parked over two spots. guy in a hilux rolls up looking for a spot and, stops upon seeing the jeep and just stares at it for a few seconds before parking a bit further up.Went to pay for parts and there was a jeet lady at the checkout talking with the guy behind the counter about some windscreen wipers or something. leave the store after paying and i see that same lady leaning over the now open hood of her jeep trying to install the wipers. the jokes really do write themselves
>>28106524It's easy to turn your head and upper body around on the old style bench seats.
Yes, we have better life quality than boomers. >inb4 housing memes
>>28106524If you've ever driven these kinds of cars, you'll know they're the easiest to park in the world. The seating position is almost straight in the middle of the wheelbase, and all corners of the car are clearly visible. Cars that have fins or visible contours like my sdv are even easier to line up. Its a lot harder to park stuff that has a tapering, aerodynamic front end.
>>28106524there was like half the people back then, the spaces were YUGE

>>28106694>see way too many people today reverse using only their mirrors. And this is an issue?
>>28106524People know how to turn their bodies to look back. Shocking, I know.
>>28106744I'm not sure. I've always used the mirrors and physically looked behind me.I feel it gives me a better sense of space and a clearer sense of my surroundings.Kids get run-over all the time. And I'd probably kill myself if I were responsible for ending someone's life because I didn't double-check something.I take calculated risks, but I try to be the safest driver possible when I'm driving a 2.5ton behemoth of a car in a populated area.
>>28106760I generally only use mirrors, including the center rear view because physically looking back generally doesnt yield more vision except for my land rover 90 pickup and a 2 door cabover flatbed that i borrow on ocassion. Most regular vehicles after the 90's have abysmally small rear glass.

>>28106988>It is an issue that will cause one to fail a driving testKek. Good thing the vast majority of drivers have already passed their test. Even for the test you only need to check once and that isnt applicable for HGV tests
>>28106524Fucking skills son.
>>28106524my first vehicle was a long bed supercab f150 and it never bothered me, my dad said it was as long as a bus and saw it to be unweildly and I often see other people struggle with similar wheelbase vehicles.it's as simple as you get used to it, im nit sone sort of god of large vehicles its just what the fuck I had and I adapted to it.
>>28107076Well at least you get to sit up high in an f150 and see your surroundingsThe sedan in OP is lower to the ground, which means the angle from your eyes to the hood, or your eyes to the trunk, don't make your overall position as clear >adapted to itThis is true. Your vehicle and your seating position are generally constant. Nothing changes size or shape, which means once you've got it figured out once, it will apply forever. For example, if you know that lining up something in the mirror at some exact spot with some seating position will always make you park the right way, it will work forever.

>>28107076My 140" wheelbase ram had some of the best mirrors ever. I could park within 4 inches of an object with those where my grandmothers tucson has such horrible mirrors i have to look back out the window to be sure of where i am.

>>28106524>How did they parkOnly a nimrod parks by reversing into the spot. You don't need a backup camera to park, and pulling out is hardly an issue with half a braincell.
