What's the best fast awd car that you can get for the money? I'm talking fast as in less than 12.5s quarter-mile.
I currently drive an E55 W211, but I'm kinda bummed I can't launch it right away. Once you get it up to speed it feels amazing though, the sound and power is really great.
I don't care about cornering, handling etc, I just launch to cruise in comfort and be fast in a straight line. So I started looking and the best I could find for now is a D4 S8 Plus, you can get a late 2017 one for $42k here in Eastern Europoor.
I also like the new Alpina B3, but it starts from $54k and the Audi can be had for even less than $42k, so it doesn't seem justified.
W212 E63s have a great engine, but the interior seems dated, it's a 2009 model after all and surprisingly they are more expensive on average than the S8 Plus.
Basically everything I've found is more expensive than this Audi.
Help bros.

Audi A7.
>>
Used STI with a downpipe and a tune will run low 12s all day but obvious not a very luxurious experience

I forgot to mention, I don't like tunes. Maybe something very light, but nothing that could bring an A7 to sub-12.5 times.
>>
>>28106684
Any 6 cylinder car is going to need a tune to be as fast as you want it.
Why does it need to be awd?
>>
>>28106693
The S58, in Alpina B3 and M3, doesn't, but they're still too expensive.
I want to be able to launch from a standstill, man, otherwise I would keep the E55. But going to above 2500 rpm makes you spin out.
>>
>>28106696
S58 is a brilliant engine, but all the cars that come with it are ugly as fuck sadly.
Are you trying to replace your E55 or just have a car that launches hard?

Replacing, it will be too expensive to have the E55 and a car like the S8 Plus.
I like the Alpina, the sedan is pretty alright.

an xdrive b58 in the chassis you want is your beat option I think
sad you have to let the w211 go it's a great car

No one's saying the obvious answer...
Model S Performance
10.5 seconds for 40k
Model 3 Performance
11.5 seconds for 25k
You cannot get better performance per dollar in an unmodified car

mid 2000s audis? S4 or S6

The US is going to fall behind in EV tech due to politics and crony capitalism.
>>
>>28106663
2013-2015 Audi RS5. Light tune may be required to push it under 12.5 seconds. I'm starting to see them go for less than $30K.
>>
>>28106891
How, when the world's leading EV maker is based in America?
>>
>>28106663
I mean, based on your posts it's probably not what you would be interested in, but the charger/300 have a subframe based on the W211 and drive similarly, and the V8 AWD versions can be had super cheap and even a mild cam puts them into the mid to low 12s. Under 15k all in
>>
>>28106675
>12s all day
Lol, no. With how violent you have to launch that thing to run optimal times something will break.
>>
>>28106752
I'm thinking about it. M340 with light tune goes fast.

>>28106869
Don't want EV, don't like interior/exterior of Tesla etc.

>>28106871
Too old, NA and unreliable.

>>28106895
It's NA, already high-strung 4.2, so it's doubtful a tune will do anything.

>>28107089
I know them but from what I remember those are 14s cars. I thought only the SRT versions go fast. Which exactly are those?
>>
>>28107125
>hose are 14s cars
Stock, the (2009 and up)5.7s do mid 13s, even a mild cam for the awd variants will do mid 12s. Ask me how I know
>>
>>28107326
That's really interesting. 12.5 is very respectable.
is that your car, can you post some photos? What is the expected horsepower?
>>
>>28106663
I've got the right car for you
>>
Buy a 5.7 charger/challenger and bolt on a blower
>>
>>28107401
The sedan version of this is awesome, it's just that it costs almost as much a S8/S8 Plus which blows it out of the water in every aspect.

>>28107425
Very hard to do this in Europe. In the US I'd have probably gotten the SRT 6.1 Cherokee + a supercharger or a twinturbo setup.

Here is the car, 2009 with cam and awd. It ran 13.6 bone stock. Cam/intake/exhaust/converter it runs mid 12s. I have a dragy GPS and it's done 4.2 to 60 on a good day, though I just finished retuning it this week and hope to get into the high 3s. You can get the awd v8 chargers as former police cars for cheap. The cop cars idle a lot and tend to eat their original cam, but if you are going to do a cam swap anyways that doesn't matter.
>>
>>28107472
Oh, and to answer your question, probably about 450hp, 500ft lbs at the crank
>>
>>28107472
bruh 0-60 times is be for slowfaglets ong lmaoo come back when u got dat 2sec 60-130 ong capbruh lmaooo
>>
>>28107482
I know this is trolling, but it's a lot easier to log 0-60 times on public roads than a quarter mile. For this car, I would need to find a flat place where I can go from a dead stop to 115mph to do a quarter and do that in a way where I don't get arrested or dead. No, 0-60 and 8th mile are way easier to log, and I need to do those several times over to check how the car responds to changes in the tune.

Don't tell me what I drive, idiot.
The engine in W211 E55 is the M113K, which is supercharged and much more reliable that the things Audi and BMW put in their cars at that time and even later.
You offer me a 10+ year older car than the car I mentioned and act butthurt when I tell you it's old. Yes, retard, it's old, I'm not going to buy it when I can afford the S8 Plus.
Get the fuck out of the thread and come back when you improve your reading comprehension and learn a thing or two about cars. Fucking moron.

340i xDrive and stop looking. For $20-30k there isn’t anything else remotely close to it once you tune it.

Unironically this. 12.1s and I bought mine ex-demo for $42,000AUD ($27,000 US). Elon and Trump won’t let Americans buy one though — they need to protect “black jobs” in US auto factories.

cope and seethe more faggot, I bet you can afford a brand new S8, but drive a 10k shitbox
>>
>>28106663
Have you tried getting a pair of decent tires?
Not even joking, tire tech has evolved so much since that E55 was launched that I bet my right kidney you could take some record-setter from 20 years ago and shave 10% of that time just with tires alone
Get some semi slicks on a set of proper rims (not fucking JapanRacing) and you're good
>>
>>28108456
I considered semislicks. Most of them are not available here, I can get Yokohama ad09 and Nankang CR-S. Are those good? I want them for highway use and grocery getting, no track days. How long will they last?

>>28107971
Don't have where to charge them. Also I want the engine sound.

>>28107936
Yeah, they are so fast that it's annoying. :D Although they are more expensive here in Europe, nothing below $40k. Basically the same price as the as S8/S8 Plus.

>>28108408
Didn't read lol. You didn't even know what engine this E55 had, so your opinion is worthless.

>I considered semislicks.
I wouldn't trust chinkshit with my life
I suppose you could go for a set of Yokos' as long as they're cheap and you can't find some other brand of tires
If semislicks don't tickle your fancy, just do as other anons have said and buy some V8 Audi with AWD as theirsl system is actually decent, but I'd wager that you should at least try some other tires on before making an expensive decision

You won't be happy if you don't get the Alpina. Life is short and you don't take the money with you when you die. Just get the Alpina.

They're not THAT old. The 760hp Model S Performance was available from 2019-2020.
>>
>>28108859
That's cool and all, but the lithium batteries in phones are far more advanced and go to shit in only a couple years.
>>
>>28108870
What exactly happens to a Tesla battery after "a couple years"? You seem very knowledgeable on the subject so I'm sure you've done plenty of research
>>
>>28108525
Just a friendly heads up if you're thinking of giving semi-slicks a chance in (vain) hopes of gaining traction and getting absolute sick launches? Don't.
I have a lightly modded CLS55 and even in stock form before I began pushing more power, I figured I'd get semi-slicks in the back to cope with the eventual power mods to come and honestly, all I got was really bad droning from the tires, CRAZY high wear compared to "regular" tires and a whole lot of smoke when I tried to even half-send it from standstill.
And do note, that was with stock power. RWD is never going to launch even close to as well as AWD outside of prepped surface and perfect conditions (ie. Not the streets.) so it's a fools errand trying to make the car do something it just isn't properly suited for.
To sum things up, I got 7000km out of the tires and that was without any intentional burnouts, just when I tried launching from the lights every now and then. Also a very good side note is that the tires were borderline dangerous during anything beyond light rain.
0/10, would not recommend. Tires were Toyo R888R in case you were wondering.
>>
>>28106663
Civic with few simple mods.
