My logic goes if I’m gonna drop ~60k on a car I might as well get some cool shit I actually like, how much would I be raped by maintenance costs and insurance premiums and things of that sort? I just really like the look
Yes.
>>28107110Afaik 4 door ones are cheaper
>>28107110Just google spart part prices and availability.
>>28107118*spare
>>28107110If you can't afford one of these new, you can't afford it used. Even if you wrench on it yourself, parts are ridiculous and require the entire front end of the car to come off for even basic engine maintenance. It's just a fancy Audi anyways. >t. has wrenched on these before
>>28107110You are going to get ass-raped on parts and maintenance.
>>28107344rockauto is good enough, right?
>>28107110Yes
>>28107343I think I read somewhere on here that you have to pull the entire drivetrain just to access the brake lines
>>28107110to fix it urself u gonna need shop tier equipment. and parts are fuck u price
>>28107377basically they are range rover tier if not bit worse. figure
There is a reason why the used ones are so cheap the maintenance is too high to keep them. Go and look for a 3 year lease plan instead.
>>28107110Fuck the haters OP, you should go for it. The replacement parts are not that expensive and the labor is not nearly as bad as all these nocars fags are saying. They're just repeating old wives tales off Reddit. Trust me when I tell you that buying this car will radically change your life (for the better). The only people who disagree with me are butthurt losers mad that they spent $40k on some dogshit weeb shitbox instead of a big pimping CONTI GT
>>28107110They're pretty reliable for what they are, expect to pay ultraluxury maintainence costs thoughGo for '03-'10 for best reliability iirc
>>28107402Post your Benny bb
>>28107402I know this is bait, but I've wrenched on a few of these and the labor is exactly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. They're just Audis in a tighter package (as if that was possible.) Just a water pump job involved removing half the front suspension and entire clip, and it was still fucking terrible to get access to. Even if you cross reference the parts to buy Audi shit instead of the marked up Bentley parts, you're still paying a lot for garbage plastic parts. The kind of person that makes a thread on 4chan asking if he is able to buy one of these is not the kind of person that could actually own one.
>>28107639>They're just Audis in a tighter packageAren't Audis relatively awful to service too?
>>28107648Yeah, they're pretty bad. For most things, even small maintenance, you're looking at total front end disassembly to get access. But usually, once you do that, you've got pretty decent space to work. The Bentleys for whatever reason are squeezed in even tighter and are still shitty to get front engine access to even after you tear the whole car apart. Fuckin germans.
>>28107402bread? and your service paperwork too please
>>28107343The V8 ones are better though.
It's one of the cars on my list, but I only want a Supersports with a certain spec (black over red, green over tan). I've wrenched on pre-VW era Bentleys though and owned a lot of depreciated luxury cars though so I'm desensitized to this garbage. It's definitely not a beginner depreciated luxury car, start with an older 7 series or S Class to get your feet wet.
>>28107110It's a used $200,000 Volkswagen, anon. I'm pretty sure nobody likes them so you wont get any help on the forums to diy. Probably tough to find an indy mechanic who wants to deal with a W-whatever motor you end up getting. It will probably continue to depreciate despite being 20 years old.Go for it.
>>28107402Kek
>>28107355Let's see how much Rockauto charges for the cheapest new struts they have.>$1,761.16 for 4 struts, plus tax, shipping, and tip
>>28107343They aren’t really on the Audi platform MLB. They are on MSB with the panamera.
>>28107110Learn to change a timing belt and fluids yourself, and you'll save thousands. Carfax it to make sure it wasn't a leased car, one in an exotic-rental fleet, or owned by some rapper who doesn't know how to take care of a car to save his life. Make sure the one you get was previously owned by an old white dude who used it to drive to the golf course, and that's pretty much it.
>>28109051pretty sure its mk3 and after. previous should be fancy phaeton
>>28109139Yeah you’re right. The Audi A8 only has aluminum and the Bentley and VW have steel which is weird.
>>28108925that's not so bad for air struts. why, how often do you replace your car's struts? even rovers only need it every 6-7 years or so
>>28107110Shite ugly car, not reliable, money pit
>>28109174steel is flexier than aluminum, so it absorbs more vibration, making the ride quieter, this is for Bentley. It's also cheaper to manufacture, this is for VW
>>28107110Cool car. If I could, I would.
>>28107110Yes. The maintenance will put you in the poor house. For the cost of a 10-year old Bentley Continental GT, you can get a CPO Lexus LC500 that fits a similar "country club grand tourer" driving experience and won't have a $5k+ part shit the bed within 6 months.
