Depends on when you're talking about. In the '00s Subaru ass-blasted VW, even with this ad making fun of VW's "fast" character in ads. Subarus have only gotten slower since then.Nowadays VW is better at most things that matter to most people though I'm sure new Subarus still have much better AWD drivetrains for handling dynamics and a more "raw" feel in stead of a "solid" feel that weight and NVH give.I wouldn't buy any new car though, Subarus are starting to have those driver facing "AI" cameras, and all cars have sent telemetry to the manufacturer for them to sell to data brokers, gov'ts, and insurance for years.
