Bros, what's the best way to import a car from Eastern/Central Europe? Any registered importers who do it? If I recall Ladas were basically never fucking sold in the US and i don't know about y'all, but in my honest opinion the 2329 is one of the hottest damn trucks I've ever seen in my life.

Growing up in Texas has simply grown my love for small trucks by the year, and everything here is, in my opinion, just really fucking ugly.
>>
I just call D&K. Any shit anywhere they will just get it on the next boat.
For en eastern europe car then just talk to a Romanian. It will be stolen to order.
>>
>>28107924
D&K?
>>
>>28107891
hijacking this thread, how much would it cost me to get a G-truck into the US?
>>
>>28107891
Import from Canada. They were sold there.
>>
>>28108105
Leaf here-they’re as rare as hen’s teeth up here now. And most are just rotting in some fucking boomer’s field. Don’t even bother. I’ve seen ONE in good running condition in the last 20 years.
>>
>>28108113
Still easier than importing one from eaatern europe
>>
You are aware that these things can barely do 80kmh sustained? That's about 50mph or so, yet they take about 10 litres for every 100km, so about 28mpg or so.
Their carrying capacity is negligible as they're unibody, we're talking like sub 700kg loads.
Towing also is almost a no go with these things, I pulled a 1 ton trailer with mine and it could barely do 40kmh, uphill you had to drop into 1st gear and engage low range to make it and it wasn't a particularly steep hill either.
>>
>>28108266
ok and? I live in Texas, ain't nothing to pull here. They look nice, that's the whole point. I hate modern USDM trucks because they AREN'T what this is.
>>
>>28108371
Don't you all americans do 120mph on the highway and in 30 zones, my point is that thing isn't keeping up with highway traffic.
Every single small suv/truck thread I see americans complaining
>can't tow
>can't keep up with traffic
>no ac in texas heat
When the niva is basically the worst small SUV ever conceived on top of being the world's first crossover
>>
>>28108379
i'm texan i can do the heat lol. plus, most "americans" don't understand what a true truck is.

I, right now, am literally searching for my father's 91 CRX Si. That's a shitbox in modern day, but I like it because it's cool and my father likes it because it's cool and it saved him from suicide

I don't buy cars because of speed or workhorsedness but because of reliability and from the many lada owners i've talked to they're basically the Ford F-150 for Lada
>>
>>28108100
hijack accepted that shit go hard
>>
>>28108371
Just get a Chevy Luv, dipshit. How do you expect to keep a fucking Lada running in Texas?
>>
>>28108379
also also

>can't keep up with traffic
cool, most the time we're off highway where i am
>no ac
i wanna do maintenance by myself so that's easier
>barely does 50mph
i ain't complaining
>towing-
i don't tow
>carrying-
i ain't carrying cows i'm carrying jerry cans and a field repair kit, probably on a nice day out some groceries
>I4 engine
perfection
>looks great

it's a perfect little truck for where i am because all i need is "it doesn't break down and it looks cool? splendid."
>>
>>28108387
>reliability
>lada
Are you insane?
>>
>>28108394
yes, what took you so long to notice
>>
for some context i am the same type of guy to unironically want a Dodge Avenger because it looks nice and timeless even if the engine is complete dog ass and a half
>>
>>28108395
Read the Varg thread.
>>
>>28108371
>it looks good
really nigga? THAT'S your reasoning?
>>
>>28108446
yes.

well, that, and the 2329 has FAR simpler engineering than any American car, even USDM shitboxes
>>
>>28108449
You're going to enter a world of pain and your reasoning is absolute DOG SHIT
Just get an 80 yota or something and STFU
>>
>>28108458
damn you're really angry
>>
>>28108460
Not as angry as you're gonna be living with that pile of soviet GARBAGE
>>
>>28108475
actually i quite like owning shitboxes
>>
>>28108477
Yeah? Do you also like useless JUNK. Because that's all a shitbox that also doesn't work and is a moneypit is.
>>
>>28108481
my family owns a 2015 dodge journey. that is literally the american lada niva.
>>
>>28108393
>doesn't break
They do though, a lot
>>
>>28108486
Currently I'm being trained to be an automotive field mechanic so that isn't an issue. That, and my experience with the shitbox that is the Journey will make anything (and i mean anything) seem like a damn reliable beast

and I am not joking, the Journey is fucking unreliable, I HATE that piece of shit
>>
>Russian cars
There's so many better options why would you do this to yourself
>>
>>28108505
as i said above, it looks cool.

also fuck GM
>>
>>28108493
The niva is one of the most bizarre soviet cars with how surprisingly complicated it is.
Due to the relatively fancy 4WD system, everything is cramped to fuck underneath.
Replacing the oilpan gasket requires you to practically drop the subframe and front differential.
>>
>>28108509
less complicated than the 10 years of pain the Dodge Journey has given my family
>>
>>28108508
That Lada looks gay and retarded just like you and that Camino looks awesome and badass just like me
>>
>>28108524
oh no doubt it's badass and your 85 bocchillion inch long cock probably is too. however, my opinion
>>
>>28108528
seething dicklet detected
>>
>>28108536
sir youre on 4chan dot org

both of us damn well know we have cocks under 7 inches
>>
>>28108538
shut up man we were talking about cars
>>
>>28108544
exactly, back to the lada

it looks nice and it's guaranteed more reliable than a journey, that's my reasoning

how import to texas doe

Beware of rusty spring cups and rear axle beam mounts.
The rear axle mounts are made on basically tissue paper, I'd suggest immediately cutting them off and redoing from 3mm sheet metal.
>>
>>28108546
bruh seriously you're gonna regret it
just get something from latin america if you insist on being retarded
>>
>>28108549
even i know the ride is probably gonna be dogshit.

PSA to everyone coming in: My family owns a 2015 Journey with an engine that shakes the car harder than a pornstar, no suspension components at all, and the bumper is being held up by tape
>>
>>28108557
If you can't maintain a domestic you don't stand a chance with obscure Russki metal
Get a grip nigger.

It's quite cramped and obviously it's no escalade, but it wasn't supposed to be one to begin with.
Still I wouldn't call the ride quality dogshit, it's not THAT bad.
Over here people say that it's more comfortable driving over a potato field than on the road, in a good sense with how surprisingly comfortable it's off-road
>>
>>28108562
Cut along the length, will ye mate?

That Journey is surprisingly tough and we maintain it well for our financial situation. Too much electronics in it and that's why I hate it.
>>
>>28108566
that thing is so fucking cute bro, i can't word it no other way, i wanna pat the damn thing on its roof
>>
>>28107891
Be careful what you wish for. These things are bottom of the bottom of the barrel.
>>
>>28108608
aye, as i said above. family owned a 2015 Journey. Ain't nothing worse.

Not even GM, not even Ford, not even a MiG-21.
ain't. nothing. worse.
>>
>>28108613
>>28108613
MiG-21s were exceptionally good
>>
>>28108394
my 2101 just works
>>
>>28108620
you get the point lol
>>
>>28108387
>I don't buy cars because of speed or workhorsedness but because of reliability
>reliability
This has to be b8 but on the low chance it isn't, there are only two valid reasons to choose a niva and reliability ain't one of them:
>you need it for your soviet larp, which is fine people do it all the time with cars from other countries, nothing to be ashamed of, but i'd consider the uaz469 for max cold war feels
>you want to learn to wrench AND live in a country where lada parts are cheap and plentiful because you will be doing it a lot
If you have to import parts you better order a whole container right away because there was a common saying that "with a niva you can easily and cheaply replace parts you wouldn't need to change in other cars at all"
>>
Never go full contrarian.
>>
>>28108677
469 is a ragtop whereas Niva is a (sealed) and (((waterproof))) cabin.
Makes all the difference in cold climates.
Also the niva heater is 2 seconds from being a literal flamethrower, it's outright the best heater I've ever seen in any car thus far.
The uaz in comparison is kinda cold.
