You have older diesel variants ,
Like the 7.3,7.3idi,6.9idi 5.9 12 vlave and 6,2 gm.
Gasser that were gutless wonders 4.9 i6 ford 5.7 chevy 302 ford and the 460 big block.

Prove me wrong that your modern creature comfort suv is better than an old american steel machine

I have Ford's 5.8l, why you didn't put it in op?
>>
>>28108155
I can put 30k+ behind a nu truck and it’s not a big deal at all, doing that on one of the older ones is a stretch.
>>
>>28108186
not alot of people realize how different the 351 is to the 302.
>>
>>28108193
?? What does that have to do with nutrucks towing gobs more?

I'm buying a '97 K1500 this week, what am I in for bros

The best looking Chevy Truck, IMHO. If it's a 4.3 W/T it's old school, if it's a 454 LT it will feel modern.
>>
>>28108376
I want to like 400's but their interiors are just horrible. I also wouldn't want to drive anything slower than a 800 in modern traffic.
>>
If my car is even the least bit desirable to beaners they will steal it within 2 weeks and have it south of the border same day.
>>
>>28108331
It’s an enjoyable experience, they’re simple to work on and dead reliable. I am however biased towards the 88-94 years for the early interior and TBI for simplicity. Also, don’t listen to the anon saying they can’t keep up with modern traffic, I have no problem cruising 80+ mph to keep up with the insane drivers in Texas if I have to.
>>

A friend of mine had one as his first car, was along for the ride with him as long as he owned it. It developed a lot of electrical gremlins by the end of his ownership, but I don't recall anything significantly troublesome with it. He sold it a number of years ago, I still miss it.
>>
>>28108376
While I agree it’s the best looking, it will never feel modern. They’re not even close to a 10 year old truck. Between the road noise, paper thin doors and panels, sub par insulation, slushy handling, shitty brakes, I could just go on and on. It’s hard to fully appreciate unless you’re driving them back to back day in and day out.

Still love chebby tho

Skin the spics alive when you catch them. They would be honored to be flayed.
>>

Now compare the interior of a Cadillac or Lincoln of the same era with the interior of the old truck. They look spartan in comparison to new cars but in reality that's what all cars looked like back then. Meanwhile, the new truck has the same interior as a new Corolla. It's just a difference in times.

imagine trying to use the truck in the left for real work daily,it would be DISASTROUS.
nu-truck drivers don't even try to LARP anymore

Yeah, I should have said it feels modern in the sense it has all the power options, ac, tilt, leather etc..

>never been down a rough mountain road in a 70's or 80's truck

Its a full on vibe and they actually ride and drive better on the rough stuff, more so with some load. The only way you dont prefer them is if you spend all your time between suburbs and on the highway.

my 80s f150 is great for the horrible roads in my european shithole country
