>Jaguar unveiled a new look, logo and direction for its cars at what was quite possibly the most bizarre automotive media launch I’ve ever attended – here’s what happened.

>Held at its Gaydon HQ, on Armistice Day, the event was hosted by Jaguar’s senior team including managing director Rawdon Glover and JLR’s chief creative officer Gerry McGovern.

>Embargoed until today, the event felt like a hallucinogenic sci-fi movie where the presenters were only allowed to speak in marketing babble.

>Unveiling a new concept car – the details of which are still under embargo until December 3 – Jaguar’s passionate team spoke for most of the day about how they plan to ‘delete ordinary’ and ‘live vivid’. Whatever that means…

>In what, at times, felt like a drunken dream, Jaguar personnel walked journalists through its plans to ‘reimagine’ the much-loved brand over the next few years.

>Calling it a ‘complete reset’, McGovern at one point told journalists that his team had ‘not been sniffing the white stuff – this is real’.

>‘A good ice hockey player does not skate to where the puck is now, they skate to where it is going,’ chief commercial officer Lennard Hoornik said.

>McGovern believes that up until now Jaguar has ‘not been allowed to be unique’ and that the Jaguar of the future will ‘stir the emotions once again’ and ‘make you feel uncomfortable’.

>He was right about the last bit. After an hour’s briefing in a windowless room, the agog journalists were shifting in their seats.

It was supposed to be a Bentley rival under the rebrand but I think they just bottled it when market research showed most people weren't gonna part with £100k for a jag with more chrome and wood, so they've gone for 'alternative' modern luxury which is just super avant garde, and, gay
What they should have done is look to Mercedes butchering AMG with four-cyl hybrid cars no one wants and moved deeply into their previous territory with new muscle saloons, estates and coupes based on their fantastic 5.0-litre, just with more oopmh and modern sportiness, and then found a technical partner to spin a couple of EVs off to make the legislators happy

There are such firms all over the marketing world. It may work really well for Jag, because the only people stupid enough to buy an electric Jag are gay POCs. Is that a big enough market to be viable? No.

The Jaguar rebrand project began under Theirry Bollore, a French businessman who had previously worked at Renault under Carlos Ghosn and who had a grand vision for the brand as a new luxury player in the market
He left in 2022 and Adrian Mardell, JLR Chief Financial Officer, assumed the role
So basically a dodgy French dude with weird connections to the automotive world's most famous fugitive turned up, tipped it all upside down, probably had it signed off by the time he left (2 year lead for a brand reinvention go-live being approved is very short timing) and left a bean counter in charge to take the bullet
What an incredible story this probably was behind the scenes

I like it. A lot. And here's why:

I like Jaguars. I like what the brand stands for, its history, and it's attitude. Good guys drive Astons, but bad guys drive Jags. My wife, she doesn't like Jaguar. She thinks of it as a golf dad car.

She likes Range Rover because that's what her friends drive. She likes Porsche SUVs because she gets to say "Porsche". She doesn't like Mercedes SUVs because that's what her dentist drives. She doesn't like BMW SUVs because that's what her nephew drives. She doesn't like Lamborghini SUVs because that's what an asshole drives (in her opinion).

So Jaguar has a problem and the problem isn't with gear heads. It's with wealthy car guy's wives. They've gotta move from the Mercedes category into the Porsche category. Maybe this will work, maybe it won't. But it's not insane. And honestly, I kinda like it. Just look how mad people are.

Selling over 20k of these to be used as robotaxis definitely didn't help. That rebrand is actually genius.
Jaguar cannot make cars that can sell by being good cars. The company is run by Jeets for God sake.

They will instead market cars to the retarded negro goblins who don't care about cars.
It will be like Ballenciaga or Gucci of cars.

They will be built on chink EV platform, be so hidious it will make Cybertruck look sleek and sublime, run like shit, broke down constantly and nobody will give a shit because you're poor if you think it's garbage.
And buying one will piss off old white conservative heterosexual males.

Maybe I'm coping as a previous Jag owner, but there is no way they are serious about this.

Jaguar as a brand is struggling from brand awareness, younger generations don't know what a Jaguar is and older generations think they are unattainably expensive and unreliable (neither is true). Doing this has given them a lot of attention, which they could pivot into a successful EV-launch if they ditch this aesthetic as soon as it came into being.

They are being so intentionally vague about everything, barely even releasing an image of the car, that I remain hopeful. All of their statements can be interpreted either way, "copy nothing" is either DEI-schizophrenia or meaning that jaguars are unique in their elegance. Same logic can be applied to all their HR quotes.

This could also be a calculated move to distance themselves from Tesla while still adopting a cyberpunkish aesthetic. The rear quarter of the concept car they posted seems very N-Vision/Cybertruck-like, but public opinion against the Cybertruck and the Elonsphere as a whole has worsened. By making those communities loudly oppose Jaguar "to own the libs" they can keep the aesthetic while remaining politically neutral.

What the internet often forgets is how little of a shit normal people give. The right-wing echochambers on X will talk about this for months like they did Bud Light, just as the left-wing is hating on the Cybertruck and Starship several months after their launches. Normal people do not care. People buy Bud Light again, people watch the cool rocket fly. Nothing ever happens.

>By making those communities loudly oppose Jaguar "to own the libs" they can keep the aesthetic while remaining politically neutral.
Drag queens and aggressive "diversity" hasn't been 'neutral' for years now, if it ever was. The anti-globohomo backlash is fully mainstream and accelerating.

>People buy Bud Light again
Lolwut? Bud Light sales cratered 25-30% and never recovered. If they were a standalone brand they'd be officially out of business by now.
>>
>>28113271
>What the internet often forgets is how little of a shit normal people give
Normal people will at some point in their car buying journey Google the car they are considering spending tens of thousands of dollars on, and look it up on the manufacturer website. If the first thing they see is fags in funny looking circus costumes, that will project a very clear brand image and likely turn off a lot of potential buyers. Particularly the kinds of buyers who will consider buying a car that costs more than 50k USD
This only goes for people who buy new cars, of course. Jaguar doesn't care about the used market because used cars don't generate Jaguar money.

Yea imagine because I'm not? it's looks stupid as fuck and the logo change alone is a massive mistake. I was just interested it knowing how it is woke cause I still don't see it.
>>
>>28113629
>how is normalizing men wearing lipstick and dresses woke?
Out of curiosity what does "woke" mean to you?
>>
>>28113643
Yea Like I said, think that is a pretentious artsy thing. Feel like you can watch any fashion runway show/artsy ad from the past 24 years and see the same shit no one has ever cared about. What's woke mean to me? stuff like the HAES movement and forcing people/niggers/trannies into roles/positions they do not belong in.
>>
>>28113244
Not sure about ads but they are getting tired of le minimalism slop. Pic related is Ajax going back to their old logo.
>>
>>28113658
Saying "It's not woke, it's artsy" is like saying "He's not a redneck, he just works at Jiffy Lube".

>>
>>28113271
>People buy Bud Light again
Bud Light actually lost its #1 spot and has never recovered, either in market share or InBev stock price, since the endorsed a tranny.
>>
>>28110218
So another company is about to go bust because of DEI.
The world has really gone completely nuts and it's getting worse by the day.
I wonder when will it all snap, because let's face it. All this bothers normal people, and normal people are still the majority.

To usher in the new era, all the old icons must be destroyed, especially those icons that symbolize values incompatible with those of the coming era.
>>
>>28110218
This seems like such an insane move. Jag has to be the most conservative car brand aesthetically. You can understand them wanting to reinvent themselves (apparently their sales have been bombing) but seeing all these ugly freaks is really tiring. It's not like at the end you're actually going to get anything unique like the Ford Probe concept or the Hyundai Grandure concept. It'll just be a bunch of ugly wokeshit in support of another corporate product engineered by the marketting

but, it is. My friend returned her F-Pace because it had a ton of issues. She went for a BMW X5 instead. No issues for 2 years, thanks to the B58 engine.
