ID Buzz is priced between 59k and 71k.

Toyota Sienna is 41-57k
Honda Odyssey is 44-52k
Chrysler Pacifica is 44-61k.
Kia Carnival is 37-51k.


ID is pricy since you don't get the 7-15k EV credit that would push it to competive ranges. Right now Oddyssey and Carnival are only FWD while Sienna and Pacifica come with AWD options.

Yeah right now Buzz pretty much has the market niche as being the only EV Minivan in US. Its pricing reflects that. If VW was to start building it in US and mark it down a bit it could be competive. Right now you buy it because it is quirky and unique.

Here in Europe its a bit more competively priced (53k without tax), albeit there are a lot of new compact three row EV crossover coming to compete.

I think VW's plan is to use the same platform for Minivan and a regular cargo van and to get scale benefits from that. And that obviously works better in EU where vans are more common.

Not a very good comparison because VW went from a scrappy Eurojank brand to its current self between that. I'd compare 60s VW Bus to something like Citroen e-Berlingo which you can get for like 32k without tax in Europe. Id Buzz is expensive even in its own ncihe.
