VW is cooked. Both in US and in America

I find it very interesting that the Jetta was once the best selling car in America. Now I see more cybertrucks than Jettas
>>
>>28111351
That's partly due to normalfags being retarded assholes that would rather buy an oversized truck or a shitty cuckover than a sedan.
>>
>>28111351
tiguan used to be everywhere like a decade ago. They're all gone now replaced by model y
>>
>>28111343

Their gas cars suck
Their EVs suck

The fucking VW Buzz costs as much as a fucking cybertruck and manages to have an even shittier interior.

Nothing they make anymore is exciting.

If they made a VW Bug revival or made the Buzz actually affordable, they'd be doing better.

Dieselgate absolutely fucked their brand image.
>>
>>28111934

Also their fucking reliability record. Everyone I know who had VAGshit made after 2000 eventually sold it, traded it in, or had to towed to the scrapyard. It's telling when you see less and less post 2000 VW products. I see more VW bugs (the original ones) Rabbits, and some of the second gen beetles still around. But all the tiguans, golfs, jettas? They have virtually disappeared.
>>
>>28111351
I grew up in an upper class suburb and it seemed like brand new Jettas were a dime a dozen for my high school peers in the 00s. Only car that came close were the early 00s mustangs.
>>
>>28111936
I live in the Northeast and I still see a lot of Golfs Jettas and Tiguans. It's the other stuff that I see less of. Mk4/Mk5 GTis, Passat CCs, New Beetles, and Touaregs all disappeared.
>>
>>28111934
Wtf is the buzz even, it's certainly NOT the EV variant of their T models, it's small as fuck
>>
>>28111351
Shit even my dad had a Jetta until it got tboned by some dumb bitch

Unironically based.

Where do a decade old cars go when they suddenly vanish from US roads?!

Mexico, and points South. Some go to the ME but not as many complete shitters go that way.

Africa and Central America

Try to buy a used Toyota at auction and it'll look like a episode of national geographic

My bodyshop guy told me if my ford gets too old/high mileage to sell he knows a guy who sends them to africa, but he only deals with ford and gm.

Good, it's overdue. Fuck Cammisa too for shilling the absolute modern state of this company.

I have personally watched 4 Passats die from tedious mechanical failures. Absolute pain to work on, terrible parts supply.

To the junkyard, it takes very little to make some cars not worth fixing.

I remember there was a review mentioning how premium the Jetta is. It described it as a BMW for the people. It had a 200 HP engine in a compact car back in 2000, while its competitors only had 68 to 110 HP. FFS. In addition, there was a tidbit saying that Ford was determined to buy this Jetta, disassemble it, and found that it had many premium components, such as multi-link suspension—a departure from the torsion beam—and more. It also had a bank-vault-like body. Truly, the average car of a madman, Ferdinand Piëch.

honestly my opinion of them went up. I want a car engineered by clever people who come up with clever solutions

It's sad how the energy of the Piech era completely evaporated

Dodge has done it since at least mid-2000s and only got in trouble recently due to increased scrutiny on diesel engines thanks to VW. Some of their gas engines do it too. They let the engines run hot at idle and instruct the ecu to pull timing at a specific intake temperature, which hurts power a lot but gets very clean emissions specifically during the epa test regimen.
